When was the last time you called to find out the time?

Posted by Furrymcfurface@reddit | Xennials | View on Reddit | 62 comments

UbiquitousBot@reddit

I only used the time and temperature number so my friends could call late at night when my parents made me get off aim. Because the phone can't ring if you're already on the line.

It's that blessed union of souls song "hey leonardo" for me. "She likes me for me Not because I sing like Pavarotti Or because I'm such a hottie I like her for her Not because she's phat like Cindy Crawford She has got so much to offer Why does she waste all her time with me? There must be something there that I don't see I don't see"

My father died when I was 7. My mom is currently refusing to be called a senior citizen while scheduling a hip replacement. Her mother died from complications of dementia and she brings it up everytime she has a brain fart.

Milk, what about milk?

We've got Nido and other dry milks but I don't really have an set needed amount. My family doesn't use much milk to begin with outside of cereal which we also don't store.

This. We just paid our off (my husband's) VA home loan... but without that down payment free loan we'd have never made it into this house in the first place.

UbiquitousBot@reddit

0 if we're not counting the typo. To add insult to injury, things in my house right now because my husband hordes old technology: Floppy discs, typewriter, film camera, cds, tapes, vinyl records, a big ass ghetto blaster, vhs tapes, paper maps, paper checks.

I used to drink the heck out of these.

My dad passed when I was young so my mom was a single working mom in the early 90s at a stressful job and she just didn't have the time or energy to cook good meals. Boxed potato flakes, can veg and pan seared barely seasoned chicken or porkchops was most of my childhood. Then she married my step dad and hes the kind of white guy who thinks black pepper is spicy. She's an adventurous eater she just didnt have the energy or motivation.

Is it Cornell lab's "merlin"? The day I installed that app I told my husband he was married to an old lady. However, he has frequently said "what kind of bird makes that sound? quick grab your phone" yo me so we're both old.

It's been 2 or 3 years and I remember thinking it held up more than a lot of films from the same time. I'll add the caveat I'm a goth and I get blinded anytime the vampires (or Tim Capello) are on screen.

Not to my face, only online. The dudes in my high-school were so impressed I had a PC and knew what unreal tournament was. Got invited to LAN parties (that I did not attend). Then I'd log in to an online game and get straight misogyny.

Oh that unlocked a cringey core memory. A short lived phase of smoking nat sherman black and golds from a cartoonishly long cigarette holder for the drama.

I played seriously, I mean rated raiding, from vanilla until early cata. I come back for a few months every new expansion just to look around. When I married my husband in 2007, we logged in after our real reception to have a guild reception because those nerds were our second family at the time. That culture is long gone. We've been playing Midnight with our tween son, and guilda aren't the same. It's like herding cats. No one socializes and Ive got achievements older than some of the players.

How far away was your high school growing up?

Posted by dms2628@reddit | Xennials | View on Reddit | 129 comments

8 miles from house. My school was newly built in the mid 90s and as such they built it way outside of town, down a highway then up on a hill. You could not walk there. Everyone was bussed unless you paid the school to park of which there were 2k students and only like 200 parking places. I'm not sure how anyone did activities.

A particularly xennial event

UbiquitousBot@reddit

Challenger is pretty solidly gen x as the millennial side of xennial would have been too young to remember. Also people in this thread are confused about what he means by replay. He's not saying your teachers showed you the event even though they knew what was going to Happen. He'ssaying many people (adults) saw it on the news (or wherever) later and have false memories of seeing it as it happened.
