With Arbor Day coming up, did anyone get one of these. It came in a green solo cup and you’d plant it. The one I had was huge and the people who moved in after we moved out cut it down.
This would’ve been 1990 or 1991 since we got them when I was in the Brownies.

The one I planted is visible on street view in my hometown

I find it interesting that people lump GenX with killing the environment, but remember that show - think it was CBS about the environment - on the first Earth day. I remember things from that show that still stick with me, ie the cosby kids showed me that I always need to put a lid on my pot when I'm cooking. We are always planting trees...I got my dad to start recycling and to pick up poop after the dog. I still go to the park with my kid and will pick up the garbage.

They had run out, by the time my siblings and I went. But luckily, having a dad in DNR forestry division, we got free trees quite frequently. The property we planted them on has all been plotted out and sold, but many of those trees my siblings and I planted, are still growing.

I wanted one so badly and was devastated when I got to McDonald’s and found out they had run out of them.

I got one of these and we planted it in a pot. Before we moved houses we planted it in the ground. I looked awhile back on Google Maps, it’s a fully grown tree now.

That’s awesome it’s still there.

My cousin and I got one. Mine died but his grew into a real tree (that was later demo'd for a housing development).

I got one! I planted it...some....where....

I remember this but we never got them, probably because the house I grew up in was a rental and there wasn’t a good spot in the yard for another tree anyway.
This also jogged my memory of something I did have back then, the McDonald’s terrarium that was part of the Earth Day happy meals they did (it was a green plastic base with a transparent plastic dome).
