Who was your favorite tenor?

Pavarotti had the swagger and look but Placido Domingo had the voice, imo. My mother played this double CD album nonstop while cleaning up the house on the weekends when I was a kid. Now, I come back to it and play it for my kids when I want to hear "classical" type music.

Plácido Domingo was heard most in my family, but my dad also had some José Carreras (the other guy) music.

I liked all of them.

Technically a low tenor, but

I loved this movie version, “Three Tenors and a Baby.”

I liked the one where they rescued the people of Santa Poco from El Guapo and his plethora of piñatas.

Lol I remember my dad recording these concerts on VHS when they played on PBS

My grandad had all of Pavarotti's records. He's the only one I recognized by name.

Pavarotti was my favorite. His Nesun Dorma is incredible. All three are great though
twelveoverten@reddit
Too bad he’s the biggest piece of shit in classical music 🤷♀️ Sexist, difficult to work with, won’t take direction. He burned a lot of bridges in the classical world.

I was a 17 year old guy who mostly listened to grunge and rap. But that song still was heavy in my rotation.

Luciono did a version of U2’s one with Bono and Deloris from the Crannberries.

Pavarotti was a whole vibe. God-tier vocalist and hilarious, kind, and a fashion icon.

(Thought they were the same person as a kid)

That’s tough because they’re all very good- somehow I think Pavarotti hit some kind of celebrity status though in his life
RuncibleFoon@reddit
My grandma was a huge Pavarotti fan, so listened to him a lot as a kid.
protossaccount@reddit
When was a baby I had colic and one of the only things that would shut me up was Pavarotti. Apparently I would stop on a dime and just listen. So I guess him.

I’ve never listed to this. I was too busy rocking Nirvana and Metallica.

Pavarotti. I’m not much of a concert going person but I wish I could have seen him live while he was alive.
ferminriii@reddit
Out of the loop on this one. I've never seen or heard this concert.
It must have been amazing for all your parents to force you to listen to it.
cellrdoor2@reddit
My grandfather had this vhs and watched it all the time but I think I only knew Pavarotti, maybe Domingo?

Domingo was the best. My grandfather was a huge Pavarotti fan.
