With no due respect, bollocks to your Mum.😀 If you love the house, it fits your criteria, and all surveys pan out, that's all that matters. Don't invite her for tea. πŸ˜€

Realising it's now 30 years between England's dubious 1966 football World Cup win and the whole 'Three Lions' 1996 song palaver, and another 30 between that song and this year's World Cup! πŸ₯² 60 years of hurt, if you prefer lol. πŸ˜†πŸ€ I'm not even a football fan btw!

What advice for my daughter to help her to stop biting her nails?

Posted by Still-Consideration6@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 57 comments

Mother_Ad7869@reddit

Micropore Β½" tape to cover the nail at all times. Cheap as chips and she can carry one round with her to reapply if it gets mucky. Keep applying it until there is an edge to file, then file it smooth so there's no rough edge for her teeth to get hold of. This is how I did it and I bit my nails for 20+ years. Once you get them growing, they grow like the clappers! Good luck to you both. πŸ€žπŸ˜€

How many days annual leave do you get?

Posted by Doomergeneration@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 1460 comments

Mother_Ad7869@reddit

OK, I'll try and explain...I get 24 days, but I work 4 on-4 off, 12 hour shifts, so if I book 4 days off I get the 2 off-shifts either side, so I get 12 days off. From this 24 days off, I can book 6 chunks of 4 days that give me 12 days off each, or a double chunk of 8 days that gives me 20 days off! Working 4 on-4 off, I only technically work 6 months of the year anyway! πŸ€—πŸ˜€

Two rectangular slabs like your friend, but with the top slice turned 180Β°, so the crusts are on opposite sides so you don't get one all-crust side and one filling side. Perfectly balanced...as all things should be. πŸ€—πŸ˜€

My Mum's Yorkshire Parkin...I can't recreate it just how she made it, really dark+rich, it was awesome stuff! I have her old recipes book, but it doesn't turn out the same. She probably just guesstimated the weights, bless her lol I might use lard instead of butter next time, and more black treacle! I shall keep trying though! πŸ₯°πŸ€—πŸ€—
