WrekTheHead@reddit
Not that I can think of. There was a They Might Be Giants one, but that's long gone. Julian Cope from 2000 would be the next oldest. There was a very long fallow period in my gig-going!
salmacis@reddit
Magnum, 1988. It's a bit faded these days.

Hawkwind - Chronicles of the Blacksword 1985.

I stand corrected, 1989
NeedleworkerEntire74@reddit (OP)

WrekTheHead@reddit
No, I've got plenty but much more recent.
NeedleworkerEntire74@reddit (OP)

New Order 1988. Awesome gig.
NeedleworkerEntire74@reddit (OP)
can i see what that looks like?

God Save The Queen Pistols T-Shirt. Got it for Xmas 77, still fits, a little faded but in remarkably good nick.
Doesn't leave the house, gets worn as a comfort hug & reminisce, whenever I feel the need. It is without doubt the most comfortable t-shirt I've ever owned, so soft.
When made I doubt anyone expected it to end up being used for that purpose.

Oldest original I own is from Marilyn Manson’s ‘Rape of the World’ tour, 2007.

I have a Guns N’ Roses Appetite for Destruction t shirt from the late ‘80s (87, 88?) which was given to me in the late ’90s by an ex boyfriend. Sadly I never saw them live.
DameKumquat@reddit
Saw them in 1992. They were great. Couldn't afford a T-shirt as well as the tickets, though. Now everyone has the T-shirts, I don't know how you could identify an original.
No_Application_8698@reddit
It’s almost identical to the new ones, except for the ‘aged’ condition. It’s the classic design that you’re picturing. I only know or believe it’s genuine because my then-boyfriend gave it to me in 1997 and said that he’d bought it at the gig back in the day. He said he’d ’grown out of’ rock and metal and was heavily into dance and trance, so he didn’t want it any longer!
I’m trying to remember when the craze for re-issued/fake tour t shirts became popular. I think it was the early ’00s?

Despite absolutely loving music and everything about it, I’ve only ever owned one band shirt. I wore it once. And on that day, my girlfriend dumped me.

brokenlandmine@reddit
I don't think the t-shirt was the cause. Unless it was a Glittermen t-shirt, that would make sense 😘
ExultentPisces@reddit
Tbh, I’ve always refused to wear band shirts. I’m not sure why. I got that one as a gift and on that morning I had nothing else clean to put on.
The reality is she figured out that I wasn’t actually all that interested in her. I was just going along with things because no one else was getting into bed with me, haha.

Donington Monsters Of Rock 94. It started out black, now it's sort of pale grey.
Incidentally my brother found out a while back that old tour shirts can be worth a ton of money, he sold a Nirvana shirt he bought in HMV for £6 and got something like £400 for it. I sold a poor condition U2 shirt for £90. It's bananas.

That I know of, yes. T-shirts tend to shrink (I don't grow bigger, obviously:) ), and I then get rid of them.
I was never really a big one for buying band shirts anyway. I had a long sleeved Alice In Chains shirt that looked like someone had puked down the front of it - don't miss that one at all - and one of Transvision Vamp from the late 80s (nice picture of Wendy James on the front).
