You know what? You didn't need him anyway, so you're gonna go to Bloomingdale's or Macy's and get you a nice dress and really start to live your life.

I didn't actually watch the video because I can't right now, but forty years later I can still hear the theme song in my head. Man, what a great show.

Yes they did. And it was awesome.

RIP Chuck Norris. Early 2000s Internet was full of "facts" about Chuck Norris, and it was commonly thought that nothing could destroy the man. Alas, we were lied to.

You're like this big fucking bear, man, and you've got these fucking' claws and these fuckin' fangs, and you're like, how do I kill the bunny? You're not hurting it, you're just playing with it, batting it around between your giant fuckin' claws, man.

If you played an instrument in school band in the 80s or 90s, do you still play it; or remember how?

As someone who's always had issues falling asleep, that propofol was absolutely magical. My only regret was a spicy curry as my first meal after not eating for a day or two.

My band played a show with them in Montgomery in like 2002 - is that where they're from? It's been so long but I think that's what they said.

I think I would enjoy if a place had this as a lunch option today.

At the risk of being a total dork, Pisces Iscariot came out between SD and MCIS. Supposedly it's a compilation album, but it's all previously unreleased and the cover of Landslide got a fair bit of airplay.

The thing about the Pumpkins is that they never put out the same album twice. Everything they released was different from the last... Siamese Dream was alternative, Pisces Iscariot was mellow & folky, Melon Collie was whatever the hell that was, Adore was almost electronica, Machines of God was basically industrial. Man, what a great band.

I was absolutely *obsessed* with FF2 in the early '90s. Then in the late '90s I got really into FF7 and FF Tactics when the Playstation came out.

There was a brief moment in our generation where the 1920's band style lounge emerged from the deep and created sounds like Squirrel Nut Zippers.

wazacraft@reddit

Big band (swing) is not the same style - Squirrel Nut Zippers were a lounge act, like OP said. I loved swing night at the Masquerade when I was in college on the '90s, but they didn't play SNZ for dancing.

Do you even get phone screens anymore?

Posted by ConflictedHairyGuy@reddit | ExperiencedDevs | View on Reddit | 31 comments

wazacraft@reddit

I'm seeing the same - I'm in process with two companies right now after not getting phone screens even with internal referrals. In both of those cases internal recruiters reached out to me; obviously this is just anecdotal, but I'm feeling cautiously optimistic about market improvements.

So.... How's your mid-life crisis going?

The entire album is bangers. One of the few cds I could put on in the car and just listen to every song for a long drive. It's up there with Weezer's blue album in terms of full playability.
