I mean yes I like the before look, too. BUT from what we see in the movie she’s actually quite happy with the look, even if she might not stick with it. It’s always seemed to me that the point of the scene for that character was when she realized it wasn’t that she wasn’t “as pretty” as girls like Claire, but rather that she choses not to. As to whether she decides that she wants to go either way from then on, we don’t see that by the end of the movie.

Meh, I would let someone give be a girly makeover to humour them. But wearing colours is too complicated for me, so I would be back to "normal" the next day. It's not like that girl is really going to talk to me the next day at school, and I would be too shy to approach her still. I had two instances that had a similar feeling to this movie during highschool, they were really special days. Hanging out with kids I didn't know well, and everyone opening up. It was incredible when it happened, but definitely a contained moment.
