Between TBS and WGN out of Chicago, we were all introduced to the concept of a superstation. There was also WSBK out of Boston but that might have just been us in the northeast during the early to mid 80s.

Fellas how are those eyebrows and ear hair?

I've had an inch long hair that's grown out of the side of my neck since my early 20s. Hair on my head is still full and doesn't show much signs of thinning. Eyebrows aren't as full as they used to be but get kind of scraggly which my barber takes care of. Barber has also taken the clippers to my ears since the peach fuzz on them seems to be getting more noticeable.

What favourite bands/artists from our teens and 20s are still putting out good music?

My CD copy of the Broken EP came with those two tracks on a smaller compact disc inside of the case. I'm guessing there were different versions released at different times.

Ed Koch said this exact thing when he was mayor of NYC during the water shortage in the early 80s and that every child was a deputy mayor in charge of conserving water.

Health 1 & 2, Driver's Ed, and Sex Ed were all taught by PE teachers in my high school. Each class was one marking quarter out of the school year, then three quarters of PE.

I would say anyone in their 40’s…

Well then I hereby declare A Nightmare Before Christmas a Christmas movie since only the opening deals with Halloween while the rest of the movie has Jack trying to figure out what Santa's holiday is all about. Everybody wants it to be a Halloween movie when it clearly isn't.

You never see friend updates anymore on what used to be your newsfeed, just endless suggestions of pages you don't even follow. Heck, I don't even get updates to the pages I do follow outside of friends anymore. Like what's the point?

Not even just smart appliances, but any new ones as well. My mother purchased a newer refrigerator back in 2023. Just last year, the light inside went out. I figured I could look at it and maybe just replace the bulb myself but saw no way of taking the cover off. I looked at the instruction manual and get this, it said to call the store where the appliance was purchased. They had to set up an appointment with a tech because apparently, an entire unit in the fridge needs to be replaced when light goes out. Luckily the fridge was still under warranty, but still. It seems a little much for something that used to be a simple fix.

That is the way I remember Instagram in the beginning as well. Like Facebook but more photography oriented. Then it became something where people had to have some type of "brand" for themselves.

Typing/Intro Comp Literacy was a mandatory freshman class at the highschool I attended. I also took Advanced typing my sophomore year (92/93) along with Applied Software. The advanced typing class was all on electric typewriters.

As an immigrant from the former USSR, (been in the U.S. since 1979) I never understood why random people asked me to “smile” . Why ? Does it bother you I’m not smiling ? Should I be whistling Dixie ?

Same with me. Born in the US but I have Polish heritage on both sides, parents are originally from Poland. I get asked what's wrong because I don't smile often even though I'm perfectly content.

Yeah. They changed a a lot of the liturgy and responses to be more scripture accurate sometimes ago. I felt like a fish out of water when I responded from memory after 9 years of Catholic school and 8 years being an altar boy when that happened.
