If you dont say please and thank you before / after almost any interaction, how are you even british. Its manners, its polite, it makes people feel good and appreciated, its also free. Honestly i think if you dont do this you're a cunt.

More properties in the hands of fewer and fewer people, turning houses into as many bedrooms as possible yet price to rent each is more than a mortgage, tax increases for each etc. Its a spiral to the bottom for the lower class.

Is vaping really considered 'giving up smoking'?

Posted by chupamina@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 673 comments

InsaneInTheRAMdrain@reddit

I mean its better than smoking by a mile, but its way more addictive, used way more often and still has health issues. The majority of vapers also do still smoke. But smoking is ciggies or weed. Vaping is vaping. So yes they quit smoking.

The savings are nice, but 1k a month is not enough. Average 1 bed rent prices are like 110-150pw. Looking at around 600pm. Then you have bills, council tax etc. Get a full time job before you move out and you're golden.

Same reason weed is dispite being "illegal", because its not that big of a deal. Cycling is fine, but an e scooter isnt? I think if anything goes on the road it should be insured, with safety requirements, hi vis, or lights or w.e. But i really dont see that much of a difference between the 2.... Unless obviously if the scooter is blasting at 20/30+ mph. Which is a different problem, i think.

I used to care, but fighting it is like trying to stand in front of a wave. Before, we were worried about personal information, gps data with phones, and cctv cameras everywhere. Now that's just everyday life. The new generations rarely even think about it. This is the same, how to feel when it's already everywhere. And if the government wants to do something, they will just sneak it in while no ones looking. Like digital iD, quickly followed by online id etc. We had the biggest petitions ever in the uk against these and they still said "fuck you we're doing it".

Whos this magical generation who got everything easy? Because before that, Those born in the 1940 were living on the backs of world wars and pestilence. Or maybe you're full of shit.

Deep breath now. I was only messing with you, im not going to collar you and drag you there. I am without a child, so i will use my extra 100 a week from that to go to the gym for you, if that helps.

InsaneInTheRAMdrain@reddit

Im on similar to you. When i was in a relationship bringing in 2 wages, life was crazy easy. Now, on my own, sure, i can pay for everything "essential," but i have little left for anything else. I meal prep most weeks, usually batch cooking 2 meals, some combination of chicken, rice, beef, etc. I got my gym membership, tho. Is it like £20 a month? What do you mean you can't spare that? A holiday would be nice, but im not going to lose out on pay or get into debt over it, so i just dont bother. So, to answer your question, i guess... im just more bored.

I am you, you are me. People hide it better. You notice it affecting you because you are you. Seriously, people are idiots, we all are, we make mistakes, lie about our capabilities, and doubt ourselves. You still finished your tasks, you do make it to the end. Many people dont. So stop being so hard on yourself.

This is called a lack of self control. Most people of the last 20 years have been living the life of, i can just get this now. Over convenience has made people weak as fuck to impulse control. How do you beat it? You just choose to do the thing with 3 more steps and stop being a lazy bitch. On the plus side, the slightly harder path (usually) will massively increase your quality of life and makes doing other things way easier. The alternative is to keep giving into those base urges and die in a decade from an endless possible string of diseases / illnesses, after also living said decade with other chronic illnesses. You're at the age where not all illnesses will just "pass" not all injuries will just heal. And once most people notice this, its already too late.

Can I Do Warehouse Work With A Limb Difference?

Posted by Training_Card9801@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 12 comments

InsaneInTheRAMdrain@reddit

I trained a few guys in the past with hand deformities. One dude had a claw hand, another had his 4 fingers fused to 2. They worked for years with little issue. The one i can think of is hand scanners, but aslong as you can find a way to point and click it, you'll be fine. Most big warehouse groups would also have no issue you working there.

Depends on who you're getting it for, i guess. Some people are more materialistic than others, which isn't always the worst thing. If it's a christmas / birthday, most won't care (not that people can tell the difference. May get a bit dicey when it comes to engagement / wedding rings, tho, and again, it depends on the type of person it's for.
