Help us settle a debate - is mixing cereal in the same bowl normal?

I used to mix cornflakes and weetabix and have it warm in the winter.
No-Locksmith6662@reddit
I only do it at the end of a box when you've not got enough for a full bowl and you have to top it up.
Jirachi720@reddit
No. If you have a 1/4 of a bowl of cornflakes, you eat that first. You then clean the bowl and refill it with the other cereal. You do not cross contaminate multiple kinds of cereal.
All kinds of foods go together and have differing flavours and even enhance each other's flavours. You do not, however, mix your god dam cereals!
SeaIntelligent4504@reddit
Yes, this! Do you go to a restaurant and start mixing pizza and pasta together?? No!
Minute-Objective-787@reddit
Pepperoni pizza spaghetti! So there!
SeaIntelligent4504@reddit
I'll need a description...
Jirachi720@reddit
You say that... But Macaroni Pizza is a thing. Some people are exceptionally mentally ill and we should look into how we remove these degenerates from the gene pool.
NinetysRoyalty@reddit
My dad used to pre-mix our cereals in the box when they were running low. He knew I hated it, I wouldn’t eat it anymore because I have a texture thing, so it would go stale. He didn’t even eat cereal at all, but would be angry when it got wasted. One of many reasons I no longer speak to my father.
No-Locksmith6662@reddit
I've got to be honest when I'm usually eating cereal at ten past 6 in the morning I do not have anywhere near enough brain power to be constantly rinsing out the bowl.
I'm not a total monster though, it's not like I'm mixing weetabix with coco pops. Just sensible things like one sort of granola with another or topping up some crunchy nut cornflakes with some normal ones.
Virtual-Committee988@reddit
This i would say is the product of a sick mind, cereals are not for mixing ,heaven help you ,your soul may well be damned for etermity
Image37@reddit
if they weren't for mixing why did they make those silly little kellogs multipacks? never enough for a portion in one of those boxes
Minute-Objective-787@reddit
TRUTH right here!!!!
Sorry_Debate228@reddit
Sick mind like a...cereal killer? 🥁 I'll see myself out
Minute-Objective-787@reddit
Best to go out on a high note! HaHA! 😂
Jack_In_Black89@reddit
You've obviously never been broke...
Automatic_Insect_811@reddit
Wouldn't worry about it, I already knew I was going to hell...

. . . I'm just here to pick you up.
Pristine_Internet765@reddit
Dude there's even brands that mix their own cereals what are you on about.
funfun151@reddit
There’s no need to fear miscegranation. Won’t someone think of the Cheerios?
Lowermains@reddit
Today I learned a new word.
Cheers 🥂
carsndogs420@reddit
There was a message in my Cheerios once and I never ate them again it said oooooo
Not_a_real_ghost@reddit
Solid counter point, 10/10!
_N0t-A-B0t_@reddit
someone has never tried a bowl weeta-rice-coco-flakes
Prosecco1234@reddit
Whatever tastes good
TheDutchess_420@reddit
👏🏼👏🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 this 💯
Long_Huckleberry1751@reddit
My husband is so fond of "the shrapnel" that he has a box dedicated to it, which is full of other bags of cereal and he adds a bit of all of it into his bowl. I thought of buying one of those clear plastic cereal containers and just adding the shrapnel to it rather than having this frankenstein box of bags, but apparently there is "science" in the mixing.
sharplight141@reddit
Yeh that's acceptable I'd say
SnooMaps2439@reddit
My man, could you not do two mini cereal "starters" and top up the bowl with new cereal? Instead of a mixed cereal "main" for breakfast
sixsik6@reddit
This is the way
TazzyB103@reddit (OP)
Even then, I’d just rather not have cereal than mix two small portions of different cereal together
Emotional-Berry7129@reddit
Me too, but I don’t mix chocolate cereal with regular cereal that’s just weird.
zig131@reddit
What's wrong with having a lightly chocolatey experience for a change?
Resident-Shock-0@reddit
Always a valid thing to do, no doubt
Just_Understanding90@reddit
It's normal and anyone that says no is a whore
Pagan_MoonUK@reddit
No 😁
Educational-Cow-3874@reddit
Depends on the cereals. I wouldn't mix weetabix or shredded wheat with anything, but would consider mixing similar sized cereals.
WolverineComplex@reddit
Not only do I mix both, I often have Weetabix sprinkled with Shredded Wheat Bitesize, and then a few raisins on top
Pagan_MoonUK@reddit
Why don't you add in some bran flakes for the full fibre effect. 💩
Largejam@reddit
Weetabix is the best for mixing, make a paste with that but then having some crispy lumps from something like crunchy nut cornflakes or shreddies is amazing
paperrcut@reddit
I usually use rice krispies but crunchy nut might be a game changer
TazzyB103@reddit (OP)
This has raised so many questions, surely if anything it’s a flavour combo you should be worried about rather than size?!
Educational-Cow-3874@reddit
Not really. Cereals are generally bland or sweet, maybe a bit nutty or fruity. Mixing them won't make any flavours that different from mueslis?
meower_to_the_people@reddit
This is where I'm at. I mix similar cereals if I can't choose between choco and other (like honey or cinnamon), or to balance out the blandness of one with the sweetness of another, but introducing a Weetabix to the mix feels wrong. It's unique texture and size doesn't seem to me like a harmonious combo with any other cereal...
Z1L0G@reddit
Psychopath behaviour. Has there been a disturbing increase in pets disappearing in your neighbourhood locally?
AndorElitist@reddit
Not only do I mix my cereal, I also pour the milk first
Pagan_MoonUK@reddit
👀
hungryhippo53@reddit
I do this, but only with Rice Krispies. Cornflakes are cereal first
TazzyB103@reddit (OP)
get out 🤣🤣
TazzyB103@reddit (OP)
I feel validated!
Pagan_MoonUK@reddit
I have no words 😱 do you not know the laws of cereal!
ZeLeStyn@reddit
It depends on the cereals.
Inevitable-Box3304@reddit
yes but not like that. you put the weetabix on the bottom, then coco things, then crunchy nut at the top. Personaly I would use rice krispies or Cheerios instead of the chocolate balls.
s8nskeeper@reddit
I have always mixed cereal. My eldest does it as well. My youngest does not. I used to make a super potion where I George’s marvellous medicined every cereal in the house alongside raisins, chopped nuts, honey, oats, and hot chocolate powder.
CrucialElement@reddit
What is normal? Like common? Not really, especially not across sizes and bite profiles. But acceptable? Sure
NeoDougOne@reddit
I regularly mix cereals - sometimes as many as 4 different types in one bowl! Seriously, what's the issue?
I do, however, only have cold milk - I'm not a warm milk psycho!
NeoDougOne@reddit
So here's a typical bowl of cereal for me...
Krave (caramelised biscuit and white chic) Mini shreddies Weetabix Crispy Minis (also caramelised biscuit) Goferki (a Polish waffle cereal)
The picture was taken before milk was added, because only crazy people like soggy cereal!
gheelump@reddit
I genuinely thought those weetabix were rocks u mixed with your cereal
EveryPromise3638@reddit
Looks like someone shit in your cereal..... BONG
ElginSparrowhawk1969@reddit
I must admit to this bran/corn flakes with a few raisins in is really tasty with ice cold milk
Sea_Cat_6630@reddit
Ya... frosties & coco pops
Cold_Try2265@reddit
only if the flavours are diifferent like chocolate and bran
RepulsiveGanache1609@reddit
I do this allll the time, it’s like a pick n mix for me 😂
AutomaticInitiative@reddit
Sorry, Coco mega pops?
pebblebebble@reddit
No. But that’s not to say that it shouldn’t, it might actually be genius!
eldanielfire@reddit
It’s wrong! So so wrong!
Miserable_Pen_1867@reddit
The only thing I see wrong here is they’re all the wrong cereals
Physical-Car-9462@reddit
Yeah if it's the end of a box and start of another. In our house it's called a mucky mix lol
BeardedBaldMan@reddit
It's an essential requirement from our children. No matter how many cereals we have they insist they all be mixed in even quantities in their bowl.
lukeyellow@reddit
Warm milk.... over cereal....????????
BouncyTrouncyFlouncy@reddit
Stick a bowl of shredded in the microwave for 60-90 secs on winter mornings. It's so good
mmmmmmmmnnmmnm@reddit
Its a whole thing that some cereal companies recommend.
They use to say warm up a bowl of cocoa pops on the box.
lukeyellow@reddit
Wait, seriously?? I never heard of that before! Eww.... not sure I'd like that as it seems wrong.
BoopingBurrito@reddit
I have it occasionally. Reminds me of staying at my granny's for Christmas when I was a wee kid, she used to give me cornflakes with hot milk for breakfast. Proper nostalgia.
lukeyellow@reddit
I get the nostalgia but I firmly believe hot milk should only be drunk in the form of hot coco or a latte.
ThreeDawgs@reddit
Mate hot milk over shreddies? Delicious.
Wheetabix and microwaved for a minute to make wheetaporridge? Also delicious.
mand71@reddit
When I was a kid, winter breakfasts were usually made with warm milk, my favourite being Ready Brek.
SpaceWomble64@reddit
Warm milk is gross
Gisschace@reddit
Christ foamed milk - what are doing to our kids?
SionnachBaineann@reddit
Christ foamed milk? That must be something special.
DelosHR@reddit
You take a bowl of water and tell your son you've run out of milk... and, hey presto...
BrianFantanaFan@reddit
Wait until they start insisting on it being oat milk, from fair trade sources and bought from a store that has 3 kinds of toilets
Force-Grand-2@reddit
(This is a joke, before I get the replies that miss that)
Sometimes children aren't beaten enough any more.
Beautiful_End_6859@reddit
Jokes are funny. Child abuse isn't. The gammons that laugh with you are the real punch line though and hopefully you can take some of that violent energy and aim it towards yourself. Maybe it might prevent you from attempting humour in the future which would be in everyone's best interests
Scared_Cricket3265@reddit
You'll probably still get a 7 day ban the ai mods have no sense of humour.
armintanzarian420@reddit
Seriously, what is with the UK subs mods??
Scared_Cricket3265@reddit
I'm not sure if it's just the UK mods. I think it maybe reddit-wide and its the AI picking up on any violent wordage. Even if it's obviously meant to be humorous. I've had 2, seven day reddit bans from bots. I appealed both times but got no reply.
Forsaken-Yogurt-@reddit
I once got a three day ban for advising against carrying weapons because that increased your risk of injury.
The guy advocating for having something on you did not get the same.
Evening-Tomatillo-47@reddit
If I said it I'd be banned already
atomic0741@reddit
Genuinely an appropriate response (jk)
Beginning_Listen811@reddit
I feel like the odd one out when child abuse jokes aren't funny
Outside_Direction122@reddit
they're never funny and it's so odd when people make jokes about it
RecentTwo544@reddit
It's actually normal - finding humour in dark subjects shows you know it isn't right.
Now I'm not suggesting this is the case for you, and it isn't always the case, but often not finding humour in dark subjects can be a sign someone doesn't think it is wrong/bad.
Outside_Direction122@reddit
no the fuck it does not. i've been raped by a man who made rape jokes. yeah totally
RecentTwo544@reddit
Hence why I clarified "not always the case".
It's a well known psychological thing, it's likely evolutionary.
Doctors for example often have a very dark sense of humour among each other, as it's a way to help them cope with dealing with death and other horrible things. It's a coping mechanism.
Outside_Direction122@reddit
if you find humor in something that is morally wrong, you have issues. there's no way around it.
RecentTwo544@reddit
I'm not really sure how else to explain it or more clearly. It's a widely known and accepted thing.
Outside_Direction122@reddit
so is teenagers having sex, does that make it okay??
Dutch_Slim@reddit
Yes. Unless you’re saying the age of consent should be 20??? The law literally says it’s all good.
Outside_Direction122@reddit
you do know a teenager is 13+ not 18+, right...?
Dutch_Slim@reddit
You didn’t specify young teenagers, did you?
Outside_Direction122@reddit
a teenager is 13-19. i don't need to specify
Dutch_Slim@reddit
You do if you’re saying teenagers having sex is not ok, when clearly by law it is. 🤣🤣
Outside_Direction122@reddit
it's safe to assume if someone says "teenager" they are referring to a minor.
Dutch_Slim@reddit
No. It isn’t. But carry on.
Highlandertr3@reddit
You seem quite cantankerous and keep bringing up new topics or specifying beyond the original scope to win the 'argument' you think you are having. People find humour in darkness. It is a proven coping mechanism for a lot of folks. I have lost my brother and I find dead brother jokes hilarious. He died of cancer and we make cancer jokes on our house all the time. It's a coping mechanism. It doesn't have to be yours because you are a unique individual. It doesn't make me evil it's just a different humour. It's also okay to be offended by someone's joke. That doesn't stop it being funny to others. Just to you.
Outside_Direction122@reddit
you joking about your brother being dead is not the same as making jokes about children being abused
Highlandertr3@reddit
Which, again, you can be offended by. But it is still a joke. And no one finds all jokes funny. You are entitled not to. But they are entitled to do so and find it funny. Also they clarified that they do not believe in physical violence towards kids. And as someone who was physically abused as a kid I found it a perfectly acceptable joke.
Outside_Direction122@reddit
as someone who's brother died from being abused i disagree heavily. it's not an okay topic to joke about. it's the same as non rape victims joking about rape. it's disgusting and violent and it kills people. where is the humor in hurting a child??
Highlandertr3@reddit
Again, you don't have to agree. Not all humour is for you personally. And the humour as I said can come from coping, it can come from the absurdity if you haven't experienced the thing. It can come from making fun of the people who think it is okay. It can come from a million and one places because there are billions of people and we are all different. Be offended if that's what you feel but that doesn't stop me finding it funny. My brother would to, if he didn't beat me to the finish line.
RecentTwo544@reddit
Yes, who's claiming it isn't?
Outside_Direction122@reddit
the law
Dutch_Slim@reddit
What the law that says the age of consent is sixTEEN??
Outside_Direction122@reddit
13, 14, and 15 exist btw
Demostravius4@reddit
Nee-naw, nee-naw. It's the morality police!
Bet you love Iran.
Outside_Direction122@reddit
i don't support any country that goes into war
Force-Grand-2@reddit
I think everyone has their own line. I'm joking from the place of a child that was physically chastised but not to an extent that I would consider problematic, particularly in the context of the time. I also don't believe now that we should use physical pain as punishment for children, so from that perspective feel comfortable making a hyperbolic joke on the topic.
Others will have greater sensitivity to it either inherently or because of their lived experiences and that's fine.
Prosecco1234@reddit
Nothing amusing about that.
Lizbelizi@reddit
It's still distasteful to joke about. Especially when its still normalised and prevalent in some subcultures.
Eddie_F_17@reddit
Let’s start by beating you for practise
MoonShineWashingLine@reddit
Look at Mr fancy pants over here with a milk foamer...
Hot milk on cereal is rank though. Only porridge and maybe weetabix should be hot.
Colmreilly@reddit
Pathetic parenting
Jugular1@reddit
Nit sure about the warmed milk bit but otherwise this is me and my wife down to a tea. All those textures!
BoopingBurrito@reddit
I occasionally have cornflakes with warm milk. Reminds me of staying at my granny's for Christmas when I was a wee kid, she used to give me that for breakfast.
FerretChrist@reddit
You put mixed cereals in your tea?
Jugular1@reddit
No we have mixed cereals for tea.
Soar_Fingers@reddit
Now that really is sick
Random_Guy500@reddit
You have mixed cereals instead of tea
Jugular1@reddit
No, for breakfast we have tea, not cereal, you're getting it all mixed.
Up.
DunceAndFutureKing@reddit
Microwaved shreddies is great in the winter
Illustrious-Eye1673@reddit
We mix cereals to get some fibre along with some flavour and texture. So it's Crunchy Nut CFs 50%, Bran Flakes 20% and a fruit & nut granola 30%
Milke must be ICE COLD. I even put an ice cube in sometimes. Keeps things crunch longer.
BeardedBaldMan@reddit
That's what I think, but you can't tell children what they like and don't like.
Their second favourite breakfast is bread with cottage cheese and strawberry jam
SantosFurie89@reddit
Agreed. I am the dad and the biggest kid. We have "mega mixes" of everything.. It's fun to mix things up, with kids especially.
I'm not usually too adventurous (ie chips in ice cream or milkshake) but I do like random things I try when brave / copying kids - ie peanut butter and "jelly" (jam) or pineapple on pizza
I can have both "normal" and "creative" types, and enjoy both, depending on mood or environment or availability etc. Why limit yourself?
But yes, I appreciate and admire the upgrades and add ons you're doing.. I need to upgrade my game!
No_Height_2408@reddit
I'm downvoting you for warm milk. I'm sorry.
nikkijxd@reddit
i think i might have been negected as a child...
tabasco_taz@reddit
Perfectly acceptable
Putrid-Log7772@reddit
I always seemed like a good idea as kid, then didn’t quite work when I did it
Pretty-Captain1510@reddit
Ive done it when I was like 10 (Cornflakes and honey Cheerios) wasn’t a fan and never did it again wouldn’t say someone was “weird” for doing it though you like what you like.
Simple-Valuable-5635@reddit
Yes but weetabix and cornflakes is a hard no Coco pop rocks and muchies (now chocos) back in the day was the shit
Victoria-Elise@reddit
What is ur best combo?
TarnishedHollow9@reddit
Not terrible, should only really do it when getting to the end of a box and no replacement of the same type
aIexm@reddit
Yes!
That said everyone who asks about my breakfast gives me weird looks when I tell them. My usual is a thinnish layer of Shreddies, a thicker layer of raisin wheats, and then some banana and papaya granola spread over the top. Complementary flavours and keeps me going all morning.
lkopklg@reddit
I wouldn’t say Normal, if anything this immediately made me think of my sister whose pregnancy craving is cereal, but like. Nowt wrong with it. Just a bit odd. And now I’m thinking wait, I can have different cereal at once? Because I’ve never considered that before.
odc_a@reddit
No but I wish I did it
Apprehensive-Case785@reddit
Me and my brother used to mix coco pops with Rice Krispies and called it racial equality cereal. Now that I type that out yeah, maybe it’s not that normal
biggiedpubg@reddit
Do what I bloody want free country mate
teddibearri@reddit
if they're in the same flavour group it's acceptable. examples: cocoa pops, chocolate cornflakes and chocolate cheerios are fine in the same bowl. frosties, frosted mini wheats and frosted shreddies are fine in the same bowl. the different mini weetabixes are fine in the same bowl. honey nut cornflakes, honey cheerios and honey nut crunch are fine in the same bowl. but if you're mixing random ass cereals it's a horrible mishmash of flavours and it's just too much.
Dull_Fix5199@reddit
Normal? No. Weird? Also no.
Its your food man do whatever
T0M101087@reddit
Up until a few months ago I'd never really thought of mixing cereal but I've recently started mixing granola with weetabix and I'm annoyed that I didn't do it sooner! 😂
MoistPossibility3446@reddit
Sure why not, we don’t need to be cerealists and segregate them.
cheddarmebacks@reddit
I always mix 2/3 cereals/granolas etc depending on how I feel
TheTriNerd@reddit
Ooooo, a delicacy I have yet to explore 🤔
MtGhoul@reddit
It's mutant behaviour and I'm tired of pretending it isn't.
Advanced_Pay_3908@reddit
I don't but why not 🤷🏻♀️
Longjumping-Fig-7481@reddit
Fuck yeah Weetabix at the bottom then whatever the fuck ya want as the other 2, I like marshmallow mateys and cocopops
Main-Star-7272@reddit
No, whoever did this needs eliminating from your life. It’s the clear sign of a psychopath and you are in real danger.
SaveFerrets@reddit
TIL I engage in psycho behaviour
Clozzer_Lou@reddit
This is quite frankly an abomination

Only at the end of a packet you don't have any more of. Otherwise, noooooo!
This morning, Coco Shreddies topped up with Crunchy Nut Cornflakes 🤷
Connect_Remote2890h@reddit

hew34_@reddit

Ashamed_Spite_3653@reddit
Omg. My eyes! MY EYES! What is this monstrosity? Some parts with go soggy before the others?

FreddyFrogFrightener@reddit
Sorry but if you don't want to try crunchy nut cornflakes mixed with chocolate shreddies then you're the weird one my friend.
Superspark76@reddit
Dear god no.
FreddyFrogFrightener@reddit
'oh no, something sweet and nutty with something chocolatey, how terrible'
Superspark76@reddit
You want to add chocolate to your crunchy nut and ill pass no judgement, when you made the choice to add shreddies you deserve whatever comes your way.
TazzyB103@reddit (OP)
Do you look at her in horror the same way I do when he mixes his cereal?
Superspark76@reddit
I do but I also found out after 10 years of marriage that she eats her kitkats across the fingers like an animal.
BrianFantanaFan@reddit
Across the fing.... jeesh, and you think you know someone. Excuse me I'm just dialling 999 on the other line, keep her talking would you
ema_l_b@reddit
Well, you had a good run, but sometimes things just don't work out
Salt_Bison7839@reddit
This is hilarious! At this point you have to wonder where the other bodies are buried! 😂
SionnachBaineann@reddit
She would get on famously with my partner, who also eats a cheese-string like a banana rather than peeling it like a normal human.

Oh wow, you don't peel your banana!?

Jesus christ, one weird thing okay I can live woth but this is too many. What other barbaric things does she do?
Agitated-Handle-7750@reddit
She went a full decade without a KitKat?? wtf
Superspark76@reddit
First time she ate one in front of me, we don't buy many kitkats
FerretChrist@reddit
First and last time, I hope.
TazzyB103@reddit (OP)
I used to do this as a kid!
Jugular1@reddit
Hang in there.
docmagoo2@reddit
My wife does this. It upsets me.
Ok_Violinist2194@reddit
I like to mix cereal from time to time. They have to be similar in a way too, such as Krave and Coco Pops, Sultana Bran and Corn Flakes, Shreddies and Golden Grahams.
A full on Shredded Wheat thrown into Ready Brek? Get out....
ReliquaryMinis@reddit
Yes, I used to call it a half and half. Usually coco pops and Frosties. Bearing in mind I was a child/teenager
Intelligent_Toe_1885@reddit
YEAH BUT NOT THIS
TokenOfSleep2@reddit
Aye its like having a full English, bit of this and a bit of that
Intelligent-Risk-343@reddit
We used to do this as kids
SwimmingInner7452@reddit
I do it when there’s like not enough for a bowl of one
Critical-Corner8046@reddit
I used to love mixing cereal but mixing anything with Weetabix is a crime
RemarkableParking434@reddit
I like to. Maybe others don't. I'm eating it and no one else is.
Lumpy-Sir-9457@reddit
Not normal, but I’m definitely going to try that in the morning.
gponter79@reddit
Yes, 100%. Mix all the cereals you want and cover in ice cold Baileys. Then go about your day.
imnotabotimafreeman@reddit
yeh i do this all the time
CellistEfficient5488@reddit
Yeah, completely normal to top Weetabix with another cereal.
Global_Study_7666@reddit
Sugar puffs on top of weetabix is a game changer!!
GaryWLloyd@reddit
Yes, but not that mix. That's not normal.
MedicalTea2989@reddit
if you like it get on with it
HolliverFist@reddit
Imo I'd say it's not usual but it's certainly not illegal, you do you boo.
Skankz@reddit
I wouldn’t. However, I used to add coffee, coconut protein and blueberry creatine to my cereal for efficiency so my opinion doesn’t count.
Yogi-Beard62@reddit
Yes I do it every day 😃
perpetualblack24@reddit
Oh my god, no!
Euna_Chris@reddit
Frosties and Weetabix is a boss combo tbh!
Captain_Honkytonk@reddit
This is like standing up to wipe, in that it is a degeneracy that is all too prevelant across the nation.
justdavemate@reddit
I mix all the time. When I’m stoned, anything goes
DonkyFondler@reddit
No, it's not normal, but it's an extreme exaggeration to call it psycho behaviour.
NewSpell9343@reddit
At the end of a packet, I have done so.
AscendedLens16@reddit
I mean, yes. But not weetabix
Tobinator127@reddit
I always have half a bowl of bran flakes, for fibre, and then mix in a few tasty cereals. Then again, not everyone can live life in the fast lane like me.
QuackTales@reddit
You do you
CalicoDesertOasis@reddit
This is the first time it's ever occurred to me that you can do this. Off to buy frosties and cocopops.
kayzgguod@reddit
same lol
Experiment328095@reddit
Coco pops, Honey Nut Cornflakes and Frosties with ice cold Baileys has been my traditional Christmas brunch for about 20 years
CalicoDesertOasis@reddit
You are living right at the edge of what's possible for the species.
Experiment328095@reddit
Thanks 😁
TazzyB103@reddit (OP)
Stapppphhhhh
ema_l_b@reddit
H's before P's, else it leads to disease
TOASTisawesome@reddit
I don't think cereal can give you a staph infection but I'm not 100% sure
EnglishWolverine@reddit
Corn flakes and coco pops is my favourite combo. I found Frosties to be too sugary for a such a mix. Either way be sure to put the coco pops at the bottom so the milk gets chocolatey and the top is nice and crunchy.
BabyAlibi@reddit
I'm now craving weetabix and cocopops
Forsaken-Yogurt-@reddit
I actually hate real Coco pops for their "turns the milk chocolatey" nonsense. If I wanted soggy rice crispies in chocolate milk I could pour chocolate milk on rice crispies and wait 5 minutes.
I want chocolate flavour on the cereal damnit!
Experiment328095@reddit
My ex was an absolute monster. He would eat the coco pops then pour the chocolate milk down the sink! Like a psychopath
Forsaken-Yogurt-@reddit
So he likes sweet soggy rice crispies...
He needs help
Experiment328095@reddit
I know! Sick bastard
Out5poken@reddit
Im a crunchy nut cornflakes and sugar puffs guy chefs kiss
sneakyhopskotch@reddit
I agree! Aim for different shapes and textures. One must bring the umami and one the sweet flavour.
MoonShineWashingLine@reddit
I didn't think you could by frosties any more? Or was that sugar puffs?
CalicoDesertOasis@reddit
I don't know?? I haven't had cereal for years. Bummer if so, I love frosties.
bartread@reddit
Good choice: this is a classic combo.
rokstedy83@reddit
Coco pops and banana bubbles(before they were discontinued)
Delicious-Trouble-52@reddit
It’s not normal but perfectly acceptable behaviour imo. When/if staying in a posh hotel with one of those fancy rotating dispensers I like nothing better than than having a small shot each of muesli, cornflakes, bran flakes, etc some fruit on top and a dash of cold milk. Seems to upset and confuse the mainly foreign guests in the queue. I’ve paid upfront and I’m preparing for a long day being a tourist! At home I’ll have some cornflakes with a cautious measure of all bran with a tiny drizzle of honey. I’ve learnt to be cautious about overdoing the all bran as I like the flavour and once had a full bowl, the effects on my guts were spectacular however so now the greatest respect wrt portion size….
Legitimate_Hotel_430@reddit
Eat what you want man
Tin-Chan@reddit
You need help
OhhNoYouNintenDidnt@reddit
Crunchy nut and coco-pops have been my go to for many years without a single hesitation or thought.
Ballbag94@reddit
Normal? No, I wouldn't say so
Don't let that stop you though, nothing wrong with being different

bombbodyguard@reddit
The textures and sogginess never match. I’ve tried it so many times hoping for it being amazing, but it just doesn’t work.
ema_l_b@reddit
Have you tried coco shreddies and honey cheerios together?
GeorgiePorgiePuddin@reddit
Golden nuggets & cookie crisp were my favourite combo as a kid. They both sog at the same level.
threegabis@reddit
It's the mix of textures thst I love about doing this!
JohnWoosDoveGuy@reddit
But what if you're into that?
humblepaul@reddit
I guess I'm abnormal then. I love 50/50 bowls of coco shreddies and raisin splits.
Forsaken-Yogurt-@reddit
Definitely normal. I'll have cornflakes on museli or a special treat of malt weeties and multgrain hoops and the other half likes rice crispies in his Weetabix.
It a product of having more than one box of cerl own when you're a kid and a sense of adventure.
Next you'll be saying it's not normal to mix the fountain drinks.
Ballbag94@reddit
Maybe this is why I think it's weird, I never had the opportunity because we'd only have one open box of cereal at once. Even now my wife tells me it's fine to open multiple boxes it still weirds me out
Nah, that's perfectly normal, how else would you get mezzo mix?
Forsaken-Yogurt-@reddit
Now's your time man. Open the weetos before you finish the cornflakes. Experience the sensations!
You like a weird mix drink the cereals should be calling to you
Ballbag94@reddit
Maybe it's time to break my programming, I'm going to have coco pops and curiously cinnamon after we've got the shopping on Monday
Forsaken-Yogurt-@reddit
Yesss come to the dark side 🤣
ARobertNotABob@reddit
Absolutely. You don't get ahead by being like everyone else.
Unlikely-Radish-8919@reddit
Thanks ballbag94
Wind-and-Waystones@reddit
Everything we now consider normal was once abnormal when it was first done. I welcome this new era of cereal mixing
sebuq@reddit
Not acceptable
6ft3dwarf@reddit
Not with Weetabix for crying out loud
ukmint@reddit
Give it a mix
Orlalalalalalalalala@reddit
I'm a cereal mixture within some self imposed strict rules. Weetabix and frosties is the OG. Been mixing them together for at least 25 years now..
Good_Fishing_9872@reddit
exactly!!! this is sacrilegious behaviour
Jamie1640@reddit
Depends on the the types of cereal your mixing
Mtwe12ve@reddit
Crunch the Weetabix first. Then top.
Imo it's the only way.
Doubly so if at a hotel.
Wonderful-Example913@reddit
I'd eat that
repair-it@reddit
Absolutely yes - I love to mix my own Muesli, pistachios, and other bits and pieces
Playful_Major_9836@reddit
Can you mix cereals if the are not in the same bowl?
bxlmerr@reddit
Not only is it normal but it is the superior way to eat cereal. My favourite mix is rice krispies and shreddies
InkFlipzInc@reddit
I do this with Marshmallow Mateys and Curiously cinnamon 😶
Mediocre_Shallot1659@reddit
I used to layer cereal in a bowl all the time. If that's psycho behaviour, then I am a full psycho! Lol
PARFT@reddit
yeah of course it is- I can’t understand people who just have a bowl of cornflakes or whatever.
Still_Film_1497@reddit
You some kind of a n0nce or something??

No. Muesli and fruit and shit is fine.
Tope777@reddit
Who cares?
ZealousidealSmell875@reddit
Nah, this is some serial killer (pun intended) type shit. I look forward to your Netflix documentary.
PassiveChemistry@reddit
I wouldn't say it's normal, but it's definitely correct.
True-Way-5998@reddit
I have a base of either bran flakes or fruit and fibre, middle layer of all bran, top layer of special k and milled flaxseed sprinkled on top.
nirvamy@reddit
100% yes - great cereal choices too. I like to crush my weetabix but I admit that’s not to everyone’s taste
Shiftycatz@reddit
If you don't mix it are you actually, truly living?
Rediscovered_Magpie@reddit
No. This is sick, wrong and unequivocal grounds for divorce. I don't know how you ket this monster near you.

Forget mixing cereals. I work in a nursing home and one day I stood there and watched as a resident poured his apple juice into his cornflakes. Apparently that’s how he has always eaten them. No milk, just apple juice🤮
tylerlovatt@reddit
Yea man I do it
EscapeArtist92@reddit
Desperate times call for desperate measures. Not unusual, but not normal
macattaq1501@reddit
Yes but not fucking weetabix!
PrestigiousFlight974@reddit
Normal for me.
tbhvandame@reddit
I regularly do the same pursuit of the greatest mix of all time
EggLaptop@reddit
Yes! it’s simple cereal logistics right, you have a big cereal like weetabix but then you have all this real estate around it so why not fill the gaps with something small like coco pops. Double the flavours, Double the potential.
indecisivewitch4@reddit
I put Rice Krispies , cornflakes and spelt flakes with yogurt, fruit, milled nuts and seeds and milk . So I think it’s totally fine 👍
aexwor@reddit
Normal? Required!
About 2/3rds comparatively healthy that's usually somewhere between bland and unpleasant; topped with sugary chocolatey goodness. I do this so I can eat a large tasty breakfast and feel less guilty about the portion sizes sugar content.
Pure_Imagination9625@reddit
Did this when I was younger when a box of cereal ran out, so I added a little bit of another.
Yes, it should be normalised.
booyahhey@reddit
If you have the mini pack selection, it is fine to mix frosties and cornflakes, or cocopops and rice krispies. Any thing outside of this is not allowed. I don't make the rules. What's crunchy but, and is their a treatment available for it?
leemo_uk@reddit
My old man used to have a “secret” recipe. It would start with corn flakes and weetabix mixed up. Then he’d break up digestive biscuits into small chunks and sprinkle them in. To top it off a full bag of crisps (ready salted or cheese and onion) then pour the milk on. Also, it was in a mixing bowl.
mrjb3@reddit
I'm a mixer and my wife is fervently against mixing.
She says I'm not normal. I mean, she's not wrong... but it's not because of the cereal.

As a child, we were required to have a chocolate cereal with a non chocolate cereal e.g weetos and weetabix. Mainly for health reasons but probably a cost element.
Genuinely quite like the combo in fairness.
Pelagicus-Redit@reddit
I do it all the time. It introduces different flavours and textures. No real difference to adding slices of banana and/or strawberries.
PepsiMaxismycrack@reddit
My mom and dad to this day have cornflakes with half a handfull of all bran sprinkled on top.
charliekeery@reddit
it is but not whatever's in this
CartoonistNo9@reddit
Absolutely, and recommended. I used to love sultans bran and coco pops when I was wee.
a4991@reddit
Depends on the cereal. Mixing anything with tetanus is psycho behaviour. Coco pops and cornflakes however are an elite blend. I would also accept different flavours of the same cereal e.g. pick and mix Krave all in one bowl.
Special-Lie-4618@reddit
You have to ask is it normal for that person
dulkai_mp3@reddit
Yes, but I wouldn’t do it 😭
joe_ivo@reddit
As a child…cornflakes and coco pops in the same bowl was a regular occurrence, with warm milk. Used to enjoy the cornflakes in the chocolate milk…but then they used to have chocolate cornflakes and it kind of made the mixing redundant.
TwinSong@reddit
Yes I do this all the time
Naive_Reach2007@reddit
My son has, corn flakes, hoops and shreddies all mixed together, always has, i dont mind, personally not for me.
Deviant-Oreo@reddit

pokaprophet@reddit

It had cornflakes, sugar puffs, rice crispies and more in it.
munkiss1990@reddit

And I'm perfectly normal...

KreepyKite@reddit
I would not do it until my son started asking to do it and he loves it. Since then I've been doing it myself and its nice. Obviously depends which cereals you are mixing together. Also, whit some combinations, I like to pour my morning espresso in it.
Adventurous-Shake-92@reddit
I wouldn't do it, but i don't think it's psycho.

Cazspresso@reddit
Oh man why would you not mix your cereal?! Can get a whole array of your favourite dessert flavours.
A bit of wheetos with red berries bran = Black Forest gateau. Cinnamon crunch with raisin wheats = pain au raisin

In this house it is for 50% of the humans. I actually mix about 4 or 5 different cereals in the plastic box and pour my cereal from there. My husband nearly pukes when he sees it! The irony is I used to hate it when my mum did it as a kid!
IITommoII@reddit
I have a theory...
Some cereals are foundation cereals, your cornflakes, Weetabix, etc. These give you substance, usually come in big boxes. A little more "boring" maybe.
Then to that you can add your flare cereals, if you want some extra flavour. Smaller boxes, more expensive. Something you could eat a full bowl of but maybe you shouldn't.
Ultimately do what you want but why not experiment?
Capable_Tip7815@reddit
Yes! However, it's the children in my life who do this.
delirium_skeins@reddit

Veenkoira00@reddit
Statistically abnormal. Normatively perfectly fine.

In the 80's I used to run a crushed weetabix, topped with malted Shreddies, then Cornflakes breakfast mix. These days I don't need as many calories and one weetabix with some muesli and extra nuts/dried fruit is good.
My brother would eat his dinner in reverse order of appeal (too him). Vegetables, potatoes and finally meat or fish. Our family may not be normal.

ceehred@reddit
I dilute a muesli with some rolled oats and add mixed seeds and some All Bran. I keep it in a shake-able container. Served with either kefir or milk and usually some fresh blueberries or raspberries. Love it.
Can't say I'd mix anything with a Weetabix, though. That seems like sacrilege :-D
Sensitive-Youth-9803@reddit

One of my favourite childhood memories is when my mum will ask us to choose the cereal we would like to mix for breakfast 🥹❤️ I remember mixing rice crisps with fruits loops or coco pops🥹❤️ nothing tasted this unique in my life. I would get excited every day to try new mixes
thebonelessmaori@reddit
Yes. Coco pops/ weetos with a Weetabix is elite as the Weetabix essentially ends up as chocolate Weetabix porridge.
Great result, very nice.
rjs1987@reddit
Yeah but they need to compliment each other. Cornflakes and Rice Krispies - yes. crunchy nut and Rice Krispies - no Both sugared, both non sugared, both chocolate. All good. This travesty photographed above needs reported to the authorities
Weewoes@reddit
Not those ones..
SnooMaps2439@reddit
I mean it's eccentric and not okay but not exactly unheard of? Have you ever seen someone use orange juice to water their cereal over milk?
Because that's what my uncle does and I feel that's a worse crime than this.

Mixing cereal is normal enough. But I can't get on board with the Weetabix/cereal combo.

I do it and add a bunch of extra fruit too. Gets dull without some variation to me.
dartiss@reddit
I like to do it, although it's mainly finishing up the 6 cereals my daughter has eaten 95% of the box of before she's "gone off it".
Having said that, whilst cornflakes are nice, sticking a bit of muesli in it, does actually elevate it, imo.
Advntrs_Foodie99@reddit
When I was in college I loved the cereal section in the dorm dining room because I could mix Frosted Flakes, corn flakes, and muesli or granola together. At home, it’s one cereal at a time.

My Dad mixes 4 or 5 different cereals (I've never really looked at it, but it seems to be things like cornflakes, Cheerios, Shreddies, and Special K) in a cereal / pasta dispenser so he doesn't have to open several boxes each time he wants some cereal
It's the 1st time I've ever seen anyone mix their cereals, and he's only been doing it for about a year, maybe 2.
Makes me itch inside every time I see that container though, as I just would not be able to eat cereal like that - I'd end up chasing individual pieces around the bowl so I don't have different tastes and textures at the same time, never mind some cereals going soggy in milk and others not. And, I'm not convinced I'd be able to deal with the milk being flavoured by so many different cereals either.
Your pic is the 1st time I've ever seen another cereal almost used as a topper for Weetabix though. I know people add fruit as a topper (which, again, I wouldn't be able to do).
At the end of the day though, it's all personal preference. As long as they eat it rather than wasting it, and they enjoy it, it seems perfectly fine to me. I have no doubt that some of my favourite foods probably make other people uncomfortable, not that I can think of anything specific at the moment.

I'm a mixer (don't come at me). It started when I was younger and staying at my grandma's. She bought that cereal selection in little boxes. I was hungry and the small amount of rice Krispies just wouldn't do it on their own.

There’s a dark part of me that just wants to get any old cereal and stick it in a big tub and just have a bowl full of whatever for breakfast like one would with a dog, or pig. I currently have 5 different cereals mixed, 3 healthy ones, 1 not so healthy, and one not remotely healthy, 10/10 would recommend
SneakInTheSideDoor@reddit
Nah. The healthy takes the taste out of the tasty, and the tasty puts unhealthiness into the healthy.
LittleSadRufus@reddit
I always mix, primarily so less healthy cereals can be bolstered by healthier ones. It wouldn't occur to me that a single, uniform bowl should be the default when you can have a full cereal salad.
My usual is something like Weetabix and a few chocolate cluster flakes. Also cornflakes to pad out some curiously cinnamon. Anything with granola generally works too.
Sad_Cardiologist5388@reddit
Weetabix with a handful of cinnamon grahams

I strongly believe in cereal mixology, I mean come on, there's such variety there MUST be combinations that work. However I have only had success mixing plain cereals with sweet ones, like plain cornflakes with honey nut cornflakes, which is perfect if your desired level of flavour is in the middle. Mixing textures can be good too, like well-mashed Weetabix with something harder like shreddies or something.

Public_Purchase7870@reddit
Only in a hotel, where it's mandatory
InsaneInTheRAMdrain@reddit
I have never thought about this before.... but mixing cereal, unsettles me.
AdThat328@reddit
Yes. It's the best. I wouldn't put Weetabix in...but that's just a texture thing.
BigMagic88@reddit
No. My dad does it though
PatSharpe01@reddit
Yes, always mixed my cereals... Weetabix as a base layer, some flaky stuff, muesli and granola!
YourFaveNightmare@reddit
Nothing better than some weetabix on the bottom with some corn flakes or rice krispies on top
Critical-Loss2549@reddit
No, not normal
Sweetomlet@reddit
If you're my seven year old
havingmares@reddit
No, but normal’s boring. Mix your cereal! Have it for dinner! Add Nutella! Speak to the old lady that lives in the cellar and whispers to you at night!
69Whomst@reddit
I think it makes sense when the cereals are similar, but putting Weetabix with Coco pops and cornflakes/frosties is crazy
green-chartreuse@reddit
I dilute my child’s honey nut cornflakes with normal cornflakes if that counts.
QuantumParadox_27@reddit
It just tastes so much better mixed, my mouth gets bored if I only have one cereal in there 😂
Itchy-Series7105@reddit
I got diarrhoea and this looks somehow looks worse
Funny_Maintenance973@reddit
Normal, no
I don't see an issue with it though
Steve8557@reddit
Absolutely not
ddmf@reddit
I mean Weetabix with the others is a choice, but I love honey cheerios and all bran with blue milk.
Flynn_Pingu@reddit
Yess, especially with Weetabix. Anything with some Weetabix like Coco pops or choco shells is nice. Or Coco pops and shreddies that's a classic
doepfersdungeon@reddit
Eating cereal first thing in the morning isn't sensible , so I guess all gloves are off, really.
Scary-Try3023@reddit
It’s fine, then again don’t take my word for it, I eat dry cereal.
farlos75@reddit
Depends which side of payday it is.
YouCantArgueWithThis@reddit
I do it all the time.
johnaross1990@reddit
I do it
But I’m autistic, take from that what you will
TazzyB103@reddit (OP)
I have my suspicions about my fiancé being on the spectrum 👀🤣
johnaross1990@reddit
It looks like they’ve got weetabix, nesquik and crunchy nut cornflakes. Or close approximations. Legit my top 3 cereals…
So my congratulations/commiserations(delete as preferred), to you both 😬
-the-monkey-man-@reddit
You need therapy.
TazzyB103@reddit (OP)
I’ll pass this message on to the offender
Scary-Dot3069@reddit
Yes, people who cannot comprehend mixing the delights of cereal live a sheltered, tasteless life. Heathens ;)
chazwomaq@reddit
Every day we stray further from God 😔
TazzyB103@reddit (OP)
Hahah!
lufcwill@reddit
I do this all the time, it's fine.
Alert_Mine7067@reddit
It is punishable by life imprisonment
cowbutt6@reddit
When I was a kid, I'd sometimes have a layer of sultanas, some corn flakes, then a couple of Weetabix on top, all in the same bowl at the same time. Sprinkled with sugar, naturally, because "sugar's only bad if you don't clean your teeth" /s
I wouldn't do that today; a bowl of porridge and a banana is plenty!
blissnabob@reddit
Totally normal. In fact I may have a cereal tapas tomorrow.
rikkiprince@reddit
It's not normal. But it is great.
Who needs to be normal, anyway?
OK_Cake05@reddit
The thought of these different textures in my mouth is making me uncomfortable
BigBlueMountainStar@reddit
Weetabix and Nesquik chocolate balls for the win
MutinousMango@reddit
My 4yo had just recently started asking for cereals to be mixed. He’s been having Cheerios and chocolate pillows, which is an abomination but not as bad as the picture in the post!
KelpFox05@reddit
Not normal, no. Also not weird. This is solidly neutral behaviour in my eyes.
thewaifandstray@reddit
Is that a fucking Weetabix? As a pastor, I will pray for your soul.
TazzyB103@reddit (OP)
Thank you for your concern for his soul, I agree. Diabolical mix!
BenSibbs@reddit
Never done it myself, But i don't se a reason why not.
Itchy-Ad4421@reddit
Absolutely fine. I have half granola / half all bran - it’s nice
Random_Guy_47@reddit
I'm not sure if this is crazy or if I'm crazy for having never considered the possibility of doing this before now.
concretepigeon@reddit
I wouldn’t call it normal. But it’s not an affront to God either.
HarrryManback@reddit
How would it mix if you used separate bowls?
Sevennationarmy69@reddit
It’s one of those ideas that is better in theory than in practice
Antherox@reddit
Used to do this as a kid with cornflakes and a chocolate cereal I dont remember the name of. Dont eat cereal enough as an adult to warrant buying two boxes so just cornflakes for me now.
ActionMan48@reddit
This looks like a bowl of scabs
platypuspigs@reddit
Yes I love a cereal medley
The-Ginger-Lily@reddit
Only if they're similar cereals. Nothing mixes with weetabix, that's just perverted.
Long-Fan308@reddit
We were very much anti sugary cereal, so our poor poor children had "weekend cereal" and ordinary breakfast cereal the other five days - weetabix, cornflakes, (non branded) rice krispies etc, so to make it a bit more interesting they would mix them up, and they would also choose whether to have milk on it or not. Cannot tell you the number of times my youngest had a mixture of cereal without milk on for breakfast! (This was 20-25 years ago). Whether the parenting choices we made or the food choices our kids made could be considered"normal" however - probably not!
SlipperyAsscrack69@reddit
Is that a hash brick in there?
Sad_Cardiologist5388@reddit
I do it every day. But I have ADHD traits, I cant stand to eat just one type if cereal in one bowl i wouldnt finish it
nebulousrealist@reddit
I draw the line with standard size wheatbix being mixed with other cereals... surely that just makes everything mush almost instantly! Not a taste issue, but a textural nightmare.
LittleGateaux@reddit
Used to do it as a kid especially with the end of cereal boxes - we always called it a mucky mixture and it was a special treat!
foxfunk@reddit
My dad has had the same breakfast for years. He has shreddies, cornflakes, bran flakes, museli, granola, and tops it off with a weetabix, in warm soya milk. Told him if I ate that I'd probably immediately shit myself.
CNash85@reddit
I won't double up on sugary cereals, but will add one to a bowl of something plainer. Like regular Shreddies or mini Shredded Wheats - top with those Coco Pops shells.
LowFIyingMissile@reddit
I love it. Wife hates it.
Superb-Cup-3305@reddit
Absolutely normal, I love a cereal mix up!
Sir_Indy@reddit
Ah yes, the breakfast cocktail! A base of rice crispies or shreddies, with a topping of something more sweet or exciting! Perfectly normal.
Brichals@reddit
When I was super active I had to find ways to get lots of calories.
Bran flakes, muesli, soy milk and yogurt to bind it together.
(Yogurt dissolves in normal milk)
This is an incredible concoction. I still bulk out my muesli with other cereals.
DemonKing_of_Tyranny@reddit
I mix mine so that it do3snt finish fast and also different taste/ texture
kindaadulting87@reddit
My partner does this and calls it Mixture, has done since he was a little kid.
AirlineSevere7456@reddit
I used to mix porridge and bulk it up with bran flakes, so yes.
JessickaRose@reddit
This is Granola with extra steps.
ryanmurphy2611@reddit
Mixing cereal is fine but not weetabix. That doesn’t play nice with everyone else.
tomisnottdead@reddit
Cereal is not normal. Heat extruded shapes of pesticide-ridden monocrop cereals packed with sugar, salt and preservatives are not normal. So, mix them to your heart's content!
goosebreaker@reddit
Norma, is what I decide, for me.
Matty_dee@reddit
I Don't think it's normal, but it should be.
I_like_Your_Face500@reddit
My friend's parents, if I had a sleepover at her house, would make me have fruit and fibre mixed in with coco pops for my breakfast.
My understanding is that that's how my friend had breakfast every day. 🥲
beardymo@reddit
This is an abomination and a crime against God.
Seriously thought do whatever the fuck you like, it's no one's business.
Tsuraru@reddit
Totally ok, I often mix sweet granola with muesli
siybon@reddit
I used to buy multiple cereals and pre mix them
peterbparker86@reddit
Definitely not normal
Jumpy_Finance_7086@reddit
totallly normal imo
crumpetsandchai@reddit
Ah. I went through a phase of keeping a stash of the mini Kellogg’s cereals in the office in my where I’d mix Frosties with Coco pops. Should try that again
Academic_Ad_9260@reddit
I do it all the time, and every time I say to myself "I don't like all these textures mixing at all, never again" and then I do it again
FireWhiskey5000@reddit
I don’t eat cereal any more but me and my brother grew up being mixers (he still does). Totally normal behaviour. Those of you saying it’s crazy need to live a little, lol.
elogram@reddit
I never really thought about mixing cereal but then I had a kid and when I was doing him cereal he asked to mix them like it was the most obvious and normal thing in the world. So now we are a cereal mixing household
Sad_Radish7378@reddit
Very normal for my 5 yr old daughter. I am 42 and still not above a hoop and shreddie combo.
CocoRufus@reddit
I mix cereals all the time, mainly to pad out a more expensive cereal with a cheaper one
jock_fae_leith@reddit
Mixing is ok. But shitting in the bowl first is what's wrong with this picture.
TazzyB103@reddit (OP)
Laughed out loud at this 🤣
cosmic_monsters_inc@reddit
But seriously, what is the brown one?
TazzyB103@reddit (OP)
Mega coco pops lol
LisbonMissile@reddit
Yeah it’s normal.
If you’re a mentalist.
brucie76@reddit
Cereal Salad we call it (UK). I heard it called a Stoner Salad or Munchie Mix (US)
Sparko_Marco@reddit
Not for me but I don't eat a lot of cereal and like to stick with what I do like but my daughter will happily mix every type together given the chance. I would say my daughter has the better judgement than me so I'll go with mix all you want.
Digidigdig@reddit
I used to by 5-6 different cereals and then poor them all into a container and mix them up. My wife used to call it a sedimentary mix. Grape-nuts give a good texture and make for a nice crunch.
spizoil@reddit
Not the norm but definitely a thing, I often mix all bran with special K as a bowl of all bran on its own is a bit heavy going
Matt_Moto_93@reddit
My morning breakfast is usually two weetabix with cornflakes.
Weird1Intrepid@reddit
Yeah I see no problem here.
Apart from the fact you aren't eating your Weetabix on the side with butter, anyway
Fearless-Schedule713@reddit
Very normal.
DragonKlawz@reddit
I’d say it’s alright if you’ve got a plain cereal like the weetabix and something tasty like the crunchy nut style corn flakes you’ve got in the photo but adding the third chocolatey cereal in is where you lost me.
Flavour is gonna be all over the place.
Equal-Application731@reddit
100% mixing is a must
JimmyBallocks@reddit
I sometimes have a cocktail of shreddies and whatever other cereal is in the cupboard
sullcrowe@reddit
Absolutely normal to me, I love a concoction. A bit of everything that's available is how I do it - never had a bad combination
BigDan1190@reddit
Completely normal, sadly some people just aren't imaginative.
Currently I'm enjoying banana flavoured weetabix with supermarket brand coco pops. Other great options are weetabix and honey nut cornflakes. Chuck some sultanas in for fun.
Double_Jab_Jabroni@reddit
Weetabix with Frosties or Crunchy Nut cornflakes are elite.
People who don’t mix their cereal have little to no imagination, is my theory.
Money_Philosophy_406@reddit
Yes anyone who doesn't do this I don't want to associate with, boring, boring c n ts
tooktherhombus@reddit
Is mixing similar foods normal. Yes. If not then that is a social construct. Life is short, food is food. Eat and enjoy. People should leave others be
bentleybasher@reddit
I do it regularly. Few blueberry or apricot filled wheaties, layer of honey nut corn flakes and a bit of granola. Might even chuck a dollop or two of peanut butter in there. Nobody has ever questioned my sanity I’ve this 😂 …it’s really nice.
TheFourSevens@reddit
You know, I'm a bit of a three Weetabix & Bran Flakes man myself.
philipwhiuk@reddit
I mix 😄
funfun151@reddit
If you haven’t put a full variety pack into a mixing bowl and cracked into it for dinner at some point, I can’t recommend it enough.
Tested-Trio-Father@reddit
Yup. I don't have cereal as much as I'd like these days but mixing is definitely the superior way.
shelikedamango@reddit
I can’t handle the fact that it all goes soggy at a different rate
al3x696@reddit
That’s something a synth would do!
Ill_Pangolin7035@reddit
I used to layer cookie crisps at the bottom of the bowl, and kellogs choco dragon shells at the top to collect some of the milk
n3m0sum@reddit
Normal as in most people do it most of the time? No
But in the great scheme of things that are not normal, I struggle to care. If that the breakfast that you like, at least you're not trying to start WW3.
PKblaze@reddit
Despicable.
Leking9@reddit
Mixing is fine but mixing with weetabix is very criminal!
islaisla@reddit
It doesn't matter to be honest
Unique-Seesaw-1415@reddit
I was doing this 40 odd years ago.
Icy-Belt-8519@reddit
Psycho behaviour, I've never heard of anyone doing it! Lol
2cbterry@reddit
Yes. Weetabix and Crunchy Nut combo is elite
No-Photograph3463@reddit
Yes normal, although only some combinations for me.
I only mix when the bottom of the bowl is wheat based (so Weetabix, Shreddies, Bran Flakes) and then the top of the bowl is then something corn or sweet based (corn flakes crunchy nut, Frosties, Cheerios at a push). I'd never mix anything with a chocolate based cereal though as that's just not right
SirMcFish@reddit
Perfectly fine.
Leucurus@reddit
Only if you put the jam on before the clotted cream
Leucurus@reddit
Is it normal? No
Is it okay? Yes
EuroSong@reddit
It’s my preferred way to eat cereal!
namegame62@reddit
No, ungodly, leave
presterjohn7171@reddit
I used to do it all the time. They have to match though, unlike in the picture.
DamnitGravity@reddit
I wouldn't want a cereal of crunchy butt either.
21stcentury_idiot@reddit
I do this sometimes, bran flakes and cornflakes or bran flakes and rice crispies mixed together. Saves having to wash another bowl
Clear_Sprinkles_483@reddit
My gran used to sprinkle cornflakes on my weetabix because that soggy texture used to make me gag. It was a better alternative to me sprinkling a layer of sugar over each brick.
Snadadap@reddit
Not with the Weetabix. But I like chocolate cereal with stuff like Cheerios or Shreddies
Academic_Bowl_4643@reddit
Oh 100% normal surely?
I want the Weetabix for fibre and filling but then the sweeter crunch for something a bit more exciting. Got to mix!
My friend even has a hotel cereal dispenser thing so she can ready mix!
El_Zilcho@reddit
Cereal that comes as individual flakes/pops/balls/small pillows is fine, but mixing it with cereal that comes as one large piece with individual piece cereals means that your hard drive should be checked.
Odd_Lab_7244@reddit
It's normal but it doesn't make it right
Matrixblackhole@reddit
My autism inside me is telling me this is all different levels of wrong.
But it's an interesting idea.
swallowshotguns@reddit
Mandatory for my kids
Ambitious-Road-8106@reddit
It's normal to mix cereal. And it's normal to have cereal for dinner.
VolcanicBear@reddit
Nothing against it, but not something I've seen in 39 years of existence.
Seaside83@reddit
I started doing this as a teenager, it was known as a shitmix.
RunInRunOn@reddit
I wouldn't do it for fun
Fresh2Desh@reddit
Jeffery Dahmer ate his cereal like this
AdMaleficent6813@reddit
Yeah, I do it all the time.
Crunchy nut cornflakes with chocolate wheeto's and a bit of muesli.
Leicsbob@reddit
Bring back hanging!
Manifestival1@reddit
I'd say it's more of an a la carte option.
Melodicmat@reddit
I do it sometimes, but even I feel like a psychopath (or Cereal killer!!) for doing it, tbh.
spLint3r990@reddit
Nearly always mix
Great job
(Apparently we are strange? I'm ok with it)
colin_staples@reddit
Every morning I have a mix of bran flakes and muesli
What happens in my cereal bowl in my house is nobody's business
PsychoEm28@reddit
Yes latest one i had that wheatabix and cheerios.
JohnSenile54@reddit
It should be taught in schools to do this
thecreepycanadian13@reddit
Depends on the cereal for me. Ill sometimes mix granola/muesli/rice Krispies/bran flakes. But if it's kids cereal i eat it on its own
trouser_mouse@reddit
I always mix a nutribrex and some muesli!
skin-flicks@reddit
Bowl 'o bin flakes - mix up the small amounts from each box, that you'd usually pop in the bin.
Novaportia@reddit
I do it. Weetabix, Frosties, and Rice Krispies (well, the own brand versions) with a good amount of mill and maybe a sprinkle of sugar if I have cornflakes instead of Frosties.
Rude-Possibility4682@reddit
Fine by me, I used to do this all the time with Shreddies and Crunchy Nut Cornflakes.
adinade@reddit
I'm not against it, but it isn't normal
hide_in_plain_sight_@reddit

GeoCeoZeo@reddit
Coco pops and cornflakes are an absolutely elite combination
TommyDickFingers85@reddit
Only normal at a hotel breakfast buffet
SubstantialTap9458@reddit

MarcusH26051@reddit
Only if it's the end of the box and it's something vaguely similar. Used to have corn flakes and shreddies.
Joannelv@reddit
You can’t mix it in separate bowls, just saying. But yes completely normal!
RainbowPenguin1000@reddit
I’ve not lots of people to do this but they were all kids who grew out of it.
So not normal for an adult in my opinion.
Tumeni1959@reddit
Rice Crispies and Corn Flakes are a good mix.
Jacleby@reddit
Mini choc chip weetabix with crunchy nut, tonnes of milk and 30 seconds in the microwave. Bliss
TSR2Wingtip@reddit
I always put one Weetabix in the bottom of the bowl whatever other cereal I'm having.
BusyBeeBridgette@reddit
Almost had a meltdown. I looked at the picture with out my glasses on and thought it was cereal mixed in with meatballs.
TazzyB103@reddit (OP)
Hahahah now I would be packing my bags if he did that!
uncle_monty@reddit
I have done it when there isn't enough for a portion of one cereal, but only if the cereals work together. I think the last time I did it was Fruit and Fibre and Crunchy Nut Cornflakes. It wasn't too bad. I wouldn't do it through choice, though. and I wouldn't mix chocolate cereal with Crunchy Nut...
WitShortage@reddit
OP's picture looks like an abomination.
But Coco Pops & Alpen as a combo absolutely slaps.
So I guess it's dependent upon what you're mixing
TazzyB103@reddit (OP)
It’s just never occurred to me to mix any cereal. Watching him mix like this makes me feel sick. Sincerely, a very disturbed wife to be 🤣

Top-Cat-a@reddit

Spiritual_Tie3348@reddit

BriefGuava1188@reddit
Fuck no
Scared_Cricket3265@reddit
It works quite well if you layer there cereal so that the stuff that goes soggy quickest is at the top. So corn flakes on top of bran flakes. Then you get a crunchier bite throughout your breakfast.
hittherock@reddit
Yes, it even has a name. It's called mega-cereal.
sockeyejo@reddit
If you like it, go for it.
If you don't like it, don't do it.
dinkidoo7693@reddit
Cocopops and frosties. No way id add weetabix
HechicerosOrb@reddit

It is commonplace in our house for my husband and children to mix 3 or more cereals together in different combinations - we have up to 6 odd boxes of cereal open at any one time. I don't personally mix my cereal, but I don't have a problem with it!
