How do you guys date?

I haven’t in like 9 years. Before that, my partners were mostly met through friends, social events, work. I did a bit of online dating about 12 years ago and I hated it.

I am 44 years old and I still give my hand a little wave when approaching an automatic door to open it with the Force

My parents threw me one. I stayed for a bit and then left with my friends to go see Can’t Hardly Wait. It was just their friends anyways. But I still have a collapsing laundry bag I got from that party.

My high school still looks basically the same. But when I went there I drove dirt roads to get there and now it’s surrounded by subdivisions and strip malls. It’s very weird.

My mom just gave me these, found in the attic.

Same. I had a million madame Alexander dolls and collector Barbies (all of which I wasn’t allowed to play with), but no American girl dolls. Maybe my mom was afraid I would play with it.

The first time I saw The Little Mermaid I don’t think I understand just how in love Ariel was, you understand it more once you’re dealing with teen hormones yourself.

When I was 15 I was convinced i would be happy forever living on the street in a cardboard box with the loser who was my first true love. Now, I love living alone and your mansion don’t impress me much, so away.

I went from wearing my tube socks over half way up my calf to no show socks very quickly. But I wouldn’t have been caught dead in ankle socks in the in between part.

Most of my childhood memories from notable tourist destinations involve candy (rock candy or those tiny jawbreakers) or those tumbled rocks you bought in small black velvet bags.

I can see up close because I read books, articles, my phone, and when I watch tv/movies it’s on my iPad. Then I try and go to the grocery store and I’m blind as a bat.

Mine recent (last few years) recurring dream is having to take the final for a class I never attended just out of sheer negligence. Oddly I never had that dream through all my 20 years of schooling.

Dudes (and less specifically ladies too) - when you started attending weddings in your 20s, did you really *not* know you were supposed to give a gift?

Deep-Interest9947@reddit

Lots of people travelled to my wedding. I appreciated gifts but I didn’t expect them, especially from my fellow 20 somethings. While I made a list of gifts for thank you cards I never once compared it to the guest list to determine who didnt give me something. I’m just glad they came.

It was definitely common in California by the mid-90s. I frequented one in south Texas my freshman year of college in 1998. Depends where you live I guess. But I didn’t know anyone who worked there except if you count the one they put in my schools library shortly before I graduated.
