Cartoons whose theme song/intro was the best part of the show.

A few days ago, I rediscovered the Dennis The Menace cartoon series from the 1980s on Tubi.
I watched a few episodes and while I remember loving it as a kid, I've gotta say, the intro sequence is/was my favorite part.
https://youtu.be/LLdAVXOeNHk?si=56qthxuo5jH3_p8_
I'd also nominate Alvin And The Chipmunks
https://youtu.be/OxD6mmJaYqk?si=7JEdrGkbR6w7R2CN
What other cartoons were just okay but the theme songs were absolute bangers?
stavago@reddit
Garfield and Friends was great and had a good theme song
Admirable_Beyond7538@reddit
I've never seen this for Garfield and Friends. The only one I've ever know is the one where he starts off by tap dancing and it goes " Ladies and gentlemen, Garfield and friends. ". Every Saturday morning. That song is in my head.
stavago@reddit
It looks like this was a bump created for reruns on Boomerang
HaterTot@reddit
Glad I didn't have to scroll too far down to find this. *Both* Garfield theme songs I remember were WAY better than any children's cartoon theme song had any right to be. I do remember that it changed at some point. I think the original was "friends are there", and the next one was "we're ready to party, we're ready".
Remote-Car-5305@reddit
I watched this every day but cannot remember the theme song š“š½
Basic-Pair8908@reddit
I have my phone on mute and i can still hear the themesong š¤£

Kiethblacklion@reddit
My boys love Garfield and Friends (they are 12 and 9). I think Garfield was one of the first cartoons that I watched that constantly broke the fourth wall, which would help explain why I love that type of humor.

Responsible_Park3317@reddit
Jem was probably my first TV crush. And that song was like, 90% of that. š
OutOfEffs@reddit
I remember nothing about the show (other than a limo with a hot tub), but I frequently get the Beverly Hills Teens theme song stuck in my head.
Famous-Somewhere-@reddit
I showed this theme to my kid the other day and was kinda surprised at the quality of the intro.
weedtrek@reddit
Unpopular opinion, I hated Scooby Doo, but the theme song is catchy. I would often watch the intro then change the channel. A Pup Named Scooby Doo was the only one of the series Inreally enjoyed. It also had a good intro.
SweetCosmicPope@reddit
Here's a hot take: I liked Scrappy Doo as a kid.
Famous-Somewhere-@reddit
I think Xennials generally liked Scrappy. Itās older Gen X who hated him because he marked them aging out of the Scooby Doo thing. And theyāre still mad about it.
But Iām ok with us being the Scrappy gen.

The Dennis the menace song brought back memories. Ā I will never forget the sound the mom makes when she spins around with all those plates. Ā
Beverly Hills Teens had a bopping song as well.Ā

Terrorize the neighbourhood
Searchlights@reddit

Famous-Somewhere-@reddit
Yeah. I think it just means āwatch this show because youāre gonna like it.ā
ChaucersDuchess@reddit
Iāve questioned that my whole life!
1980pzx@reddit
Is it terrorize or terrify the neighborhood?
TinyGIR@reddit
Just checked. You are correct.
frumperbell@reddit
We were a dual cartoon cat household. I was all in on Garfield and my brother only wanted Heathcliff. Heathcliff did have the better theme song, I'll give him that.
GeetarEnthusiast85@reddit (OP)
At one point I thought they were the same cat!
VicYuri@reddit
I always prefer heathcliff to garfi.
MrCrash@reddit
I found an old super grainy video of the intro, and I play it and sing along while I'm cooking dinner.
funkympc@reddit
GreenApples8710@reddit
Ducktales was a solid cartoon, but that theme song is a gift from the God's.
Muppet Babies are in that category, too.
GeetarEnthusiast85@reddit (OP)
What? I loved Muppet Babies. I remember it being so creative.
GreenApples8710@reddit
Oh, it was a good show. But the theme song? chef's kiss
Famous-Somewhere-@reddit
I get your point, though I think both shows were really good, especially in a sea of toy commercial cartoons.
Rdubya291@reddit
Tailspin was solid, too.
BaconContestXBL@reddit
That cartoon and its theme song are a large part of the reason why I embarked on my current career.
Ironically I found out several years later that flying freight is not for me. Flying people is where itās at
Rdubya291@reddit
One of the reasons I love aviation as well. Working on finishing up my PPL, should have it in the next few months. In the meantime, I've been building a Kitfox in my "garage" for the last 9 months. Should have it done (depending on how much time I get) end of this year or 1st quarter next year. That of course will be dependent on work and family.
Looking forward to it. I'll never make a career of it. But it'll be a dream to to walk out to the back of my property and be flying in minutes.
funkympc@reddit
It sucks that Muppet Babies is stuck in licensing hell.
flismflasm@reddit
Muppet babies intro was epic.
jambr380@reddit
I'm gonna give Captain Planet a mention. Maybe not the best cartoon or intro, but unfortunately one that pops into my head more often than I'd like
Jay-Holiday@reddit
I always think of this song as a banger with the other great themes.
And I definitely get it. No one ever CHOOSES Ma-Ti. You end up with Ma-Ti when everyone else takes all the cool powers.
jambr380@reddit
Haha - even he knew he was nowhere cool enough to be Kwame and Ma-Ti was the only boy left. Itās like, sorry cuz
principled_principal@reddit
Darkwing Duck wasāto meāa middling spin off of Duck Tales. But the theme song was fire!
āCunning naugahydeā is a sick line.
Jay-Holiday@reddit
I always stayed for the Eureka's Castle theme, then dipped on the actual show.
LeftOn4ya@reddit
I remember as a teenager I would watch the Bananas in Pajamas opening credits then turning off the show as it was too kiddy, but somehow loved the opening song.

This is the one I thought of first! Banger theme and I don't remember a second of the actual show.
sak3rt3ti@reddit
Animaniacs?
mist_kaefer@reddit
Animaniacs
SilverAsparagus2985@reddit
Any time this is asked, I literally start singing this song. Best imo.
Skipper0463@reddit
A few years ago Animaniacs came to Netflix and I was so excited because I wanted to watch it with my kids and have them experience one of favorite shows. Unfortunately, it didnāt age as well as I had hoped. I could barely get through an episode and my kids werenāt impressed.
Sun_Sprout@reddit
Animaniacs had a good intro, but definitely not the best part of the show. That show was primo.
_thwip_@reddit

SweetCosmicPope@reddit
The Racoons also played on The Disney Channel! That show was way better than it seems it would.
az_kikr1208@reddit
The outro song was even better in my opinion. Absolute banger.

seemartineasy@reddit
Agree completely, but damn is that a dope intro song
arlia11@reddit
Solid show yes but I didn't always think the theme song matched, but I see that's a subjective assessment on my part.

Basic-Pair8908@reddit
Biker mice from mars was a banging track
Skipper0463@reddit
Iād say most of them. A lot of these shows donāt hold up as well as weād like to think. TMNT has the best intro, but the show is ok. A lot of the Disney afternoon shows are the same. Tale Spin was fantastic when I was a kid. Now? Not so much.
GeetarEnthusiast85@reddit (OP)
I still love the original TMNT cartoon. Such corny fun!
TheWearySnout@reddit
I wasn't a huge pink panther fan, but the theme song is fantastic.
jediane9@reddit
The theme to David the Gnome was and still is a bop.
MaxPowerrr85@reddit
Denver, the Last Dinosaur wasn't exactly must-see TV as a kid, but the theme song had me glued to the screen
TheWearySnout@reddit
I cried for days when the show finished and I found out there would be no new episodes lol
dogtweredog@reddit
Yeah the theme was a banger but what bugged me as a kid was the lyric that went something like "everywhere we go we don't really care if people stop and stare at out pal dino" when they cared very much and keeping him secret was one of the series' plot points
sped2500@reddit
Highest themesong quality to actual show quality in history, bar none
poofyhairguy@reddit
This is the one! They show sucked but I often sing this song as a pick me up.
that1tech@reddit

GeetarEnthusiast85@reddit (OP)
I remember Denver The Dinosaur but couldn't recall the theme song. I just looked it up and yeah, that was a good one!
Did you ever see it's parody, "Randy" on the Netflix show Saturday Morning All Star Hits? I thought it was pretty funny.
