Quite the eye candy in his day

Still is.

Watched this tonight with my kids after making Death Star Deep Dish Pizza

His work on Shrinking is the best of his career. My kids have grown up with him, and he's just as cool to them now as he was to us then. There aren't many actors/public figures who have seamlessly spanned so many generations.

That show is phenomenal

I watched the episode the other day when he's singing the Indiana Jones theme song when he enters the break room I almost lost my shit.

Oh my God, it’s amazing… I just can’t understand how I’ve loved him through six decades…

My MIL went to high school with him. She tells the dumbest, most boring stories over and over that no one cares about, and we've all told her, "you knew Harrison Ford! Why don't you lead with THAT?!"
PhiloLibrarian@reddit (OP)
Oh I love that!!!
My husband was babysat by Madonna‘s stepmother and has been in her childhood bedroom. Isn’t it weird how celebrities touch our lives, I think it’s magic! 😆

It’s called “gravitas,” you should try it sometime. This show is so well casted. HF still ends up stealing scene after scene!

Just started watching "The Fugitive", so good. One of my top ten movies all time.

I suddenly have the urge to write LOVE YOU on my eyelids.

What Lies Beneath could be one of those psycho-horror flicks that no one really remembers, but it stuck with me because it was one of the first times I've seen Harrison play the villain.
red286@reddit
Harrison Ford managed to make his secondary character with no special powers or magical sword seem cooler to a 10-year-old boy than Luke Skywalker. That's pretty impressive.

Cowboy… in Space. 👩🏼🍳 💋

I actually just rewatched The Fugitive yesterday. That was a great movie. Didn't have time to watch US Marshals same day, prob this weekend.

I always loved his visits on Conan https://youtu.be/lC_u6cOUfeY?si=13vqTSsqS0DjNzTa

I've grown up loving this man since childhood. I loved him in everything, but Indiana Jones is the pinnacle.
bacchus213@reddit
Is that the guy from Regarding Henry?
PhiloLibrarian@reddit (OP)
No, it’s the guy from Witness.

I love the story of how he got the part. He was working on Star Wars because him and George Lucas are friends but he was salty at George for not inviting him to read for a part. The original Han actor couldn't make a reading so George asked Harrison to stand in, he did but was still salty. So when he was doing lines with Carey he'd just be like "whatever princess" and George was like "THAT'S IT! THAT'S HAN!"
SoftCrave-_@reddit
What a legend, he's basically the definition of cool.
PrarieDogma@reddit
Still always love The Fugitive and watch it whenever it comes on. Harrison Ford is one of the GOAT’s

People slept on Call of the Wild (20)!
Great family movie, check it out ppl!!!
Deep-Interest9947@reddit
He didn’t do it for me until my 30s. But he was hot.
Adrasteia-One@reddit
His adventure hero roles are the earliest I can recall. Han Solo was so cool, but Indiana Jones took it up a notch.
PhiloLibrarian@reddit (OP)
In my family, we call this the “Harrison Ford finger”…. He does it in practically every movie.
When were kind of upset with each other, we do this and then we laugh.
Appropriate-Neck-585@reddit
Indiana Jones & Star Wars original trilogies are as close to perfect as movies can be. They left an indelible mark on most of our lives.
el_pinko_grande@reddit
There's so many actors that get famous off a big genre property that just coast off of that money and fame forever. But not Ford. Dude was in Star Wars, than casually went on to do a bunch more iconic roles.

I try to retell his broccoli joke, but I usually mess it up.
