Love is something when you give it away, give it away, give it away. Love is something when you give it away, you end up having more. (So many teen pregnancies in my school year group).

You probably woke up for a wee and don't remember it. Happens more than you think. If you're really freaked out put some flour down on the floor so you can check it's your footprints doing the walking.

Those of you who are teachers, do you remember every student you’ve ever taught?

Posted by AndyKWHau@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 126 comments

Happily-Incorrect@reddit

I sometimes struggle to remember my current students. I have a real problem with bumping into people outside of the usual context I see them in and recognising them. So if I see someone in a shop, and I usually only see them in lessons, I struggle to register that they're the same person.

The A30 can get fucked. It's like that song in South Park where there's "Only One Road in Canada." Except it's Cornwall and if some div turns their car over on it a three hour drive becomes a five hour one. Someone needs to build a bridge from Cornwall to South Wales so there's another way in/out.

Sweaty blokes of the UK - what antiperspirants actually work?

Posted by BigEntertainer8430@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 34 comments

Happily-Incorrect@reddit

I found stopping using antiperspirants and just using deoderants weirdly made me sweat far less. Obviously I still do a bit, but not in the shirt-ruining way I used to. Bulldog do some really gentle ones that seem to keep smelling nice throughout the day.

My guess is farts are supposed to smell bad because it tells everyone around you a little about your health. You can always smell a stomach bug fart, and I definitely wouldn't eat anything that person had touched.

The BBC is big. Really really big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mind-bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think Liz Truss's Pork Market budget is big, but that's just peanuts to the BBC.

Is it okay to have eco mode on when driving on motorway?

Posted by samasem-sumsum@reddit | askcarguys | View on Reddit | 58 comments

Happily-Incorrect@reddit

If anything I would *only* use eco mode on the motorway as it scares the shit out of me at a roundabout when my car doesn't pull away as quick as I'm expecting. On mine it does also come up with a cool colour-coded effext on the display lights to let you know how efficiently you're driving. Turns it into a fun game to see how much you can keep it in the green.

A lot of stuff gets grandfathered in because it's a classic but wouldn't fly if released today. There's a Winnie the Pooh story where he gets too fat to leave Rabbit's house because he eats all his food, and Christopher Robin's solution is just not to let him eat for two weeks so he can get thin enough to come out. (Rather than maybe just have the creature who digs holes dig a bigger hole). No way anybody would be publishing that now for promoting eating disorders or whatever, but it gets a pass cos it's old. I don't think it's a bad thing tbh, kids need some experience of things adults think they aren't ready for. It's how learning happens.

Do you prefer the boxes/tubs or the wheelie bins for recycling?

Posted by rubypickaxelover3@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 53 comments

Happily-Incorrect@reddit

Just been given some big heavy duty woven plastic bags with a velcro seal for our local recycling and they seem like the best of both worlds. The boxes get smashed up by the bin men throwing them down after they've emptied them, and the wheelie bins are an awkward shape. Will see how it goes over the next few months though. I'm sure I'll come to loathe the bags for as yet unforseen reasons.

My ex used to be incredibly controlling about how much I worked. Since we split up I've gone from not being able to afford to contribute 50% without struggling, to being able to pay my own mortgage and bills. Admittedly it's tight, but I can occasionally have fun now which I never used to!

The only things I remember eating in the US that were nicer than what we could get here were doughnuts and sub sandwiches (from a proper olace, obviously not subway). Depending on how long it is between acquiring them and seeing your friends maybe it'd be kinda cool to pack some really great subs in your suitcase with a couple of ice packs and hand them out on arrival!

A 9/11 romance movie would be awesome. You could have two people who work on the same floor in different towers and have never admitted they love each other. Maybe they flirt through telescopes in their big offices or something. When the first tower gets hit one runs in to save the other, manages to get them out and drags them to the 'safety' of their office in the second tower where they finally fuck. Then the second plane hits.
