For some reason everyone is obsessed with it being hard to read as "Kia". That argument never made sense to me as almost all car logo brands are not legible as the word they stand for, but rather are a logo representation of the brand.

2027 Chrysler Pacifica's New Styling Doesn't Come With Its Base Trim

So weird they don't just make the base trim have the new face except strip out the cool LEDs and make it look cheap. I wonder if they have a bunch of spare parts they want to use up this year, and then maybe bring the updated design to the base trim once that's done.

Crazy. Pacifica PHEV dead at the top end, Journey dead at the low end. The whole brand that already existed just to sell one car still had to whittle down the versions of that one car.

All-new 2026 Nissan LEAF priced from $29,990 MSRP

Posted by LimitedReach@reddit | cars | View on Reddit | 267 comments

zoned_off@reddit

It's not clear to me the base trim actually has 300 miles of range. The little disclaimer makes it clear that they are using the 131 MPGe calculation based on what the base model (S+) gets, but they don't come out directly and say that the 300 miles comes from that trim. They might be taking the efficiency of the S+ and multiplying it by the battery size of the top trim. It also says "up to" 303 miles of range for the new Leaf, which would indicate that that is the longest-range version of the leaf. Would they really make the cheapest one the longest range? \> EPA-estimated range up to 303 miles for combined city/highway driving. 2026 EPA Fuel Economy Estimates 131 City, 111 Highway. Based on EPA formula of 33.7 kW/hour equal to one gallon of gasoline energy, EPA rated LEAF 75kWh S+ equivalent to 131 MPGe measured as gasoline fuel efficiency in city driving, and 111 MPGe in highway driving. Actual mileage will vary with trim levels, options, and driving conditions. See Customer Disclosure Form for details.  Use for comparison only.

The line between the back door and the back quarter panel is so small. Kind of baffling they even bothered making the 2 door. If they put the rear handle hidden next to the window like the new Prius, it would almost look like a 2 door anyway.

It'll be interesting to see what the "best" engine for range extender-style ICE engines will be as this trend continues. I would imagine most of our intuition about what makes an engine good (power figures, noise, etc.) goes out of the window when all it's doing is pumping juice into a battery instead of driving the wheels.

IDK. I have a 2005 Toyota Corolla and recently test drove a 2021 Rav4 Prime SE. A lot of the interior felt decidedly cheaper than my Corolla. I was very surprised by that. The plastics of the center console, the thickness of the padding of the seats and how they were attached, the seat fabrics themselves like you mentioned, were all nicer in the Corolla.

IDK why anyone cares about this. The Toyota logo technically contains all the letters of the brand, but it's so stylized you wouldn't really know at a glance, for the most part it's just the Toyota logo, and everyone knows that. How is the Kia logo any different? Why does it need to Legibly spell out the full brand name as long as it's recognizable and cool looking?

I live in Chattanooga, TN just went to a local Cars & Coffee this morning. Turnout was ok, nothing crazy. I enjoy supercar spotting, and very rarely get to scratch that itch here. I might see a "cool" car (something on the tier of modified 370z or entry level Ferrari) a couple times a month. There's pockets of enthusiasts, I met some at Cars & Coffee, but the day-to-day is pretty boring in terms of car diversity. Might be better in NC.

Tbh I"m not sure if that's even surprising. I don't know the numbers, but it's pretty common for manufactures to focus on higher margin products when you're going to automatically sell every single one you make at or above MSRP anyway. It wouldn't surprise me if there are more Nismo ones on the road than not. I've yet to see one of either though. :(

Cheapest base MSRP for a Bentayga that I could find is 2019 when it was $165k, specced out the top of the line Yukon and it's $105k. So still a pretty big difference, if we're talking new prices only.
