Fun fact: Some Manual Motorcycles have now passed some manual cars in terms of technology and features. Like adaptive cruise control.

A lot of motorcycles now come with adaptive cruise control as standard, like the Kawasaki Ninja H2 SX. Meanwhile, full on manual performance cars like the G87 M2 don't come with it. Do you feel like this is a bad thing. I just thought it was pretty interesting?

Afaik isn't the mustang the only one? Maybe the brz or wrx? I know the gr86, supra, BMW, and porsche don't have it despite them easily having the capabilities to due so. I saw somewhere the argument was out of safety in case the car stalls, but honestly I think it's just an excuse for porsche and BMW to be lazy and not develop their manuals more. Porsche and BMW want to milk manual enthusiasts for all they are worth without spending a dime more they have too to develope the manual. Look at how easy it was for toyota to make the BMW manual feel good. Look at how Porsche refuses to upgrade their manuals and instead just cut a gear from the 7 speed for the carrera T. It honestly feels like they genuinely just don't care outside of milking buyers.

I believe the cruise system disengages as soon as the operator touches the clutch or brakes. So if traffic slows enough to where the bike is in too tall of a gear, what happens?

In my Civic, a warning light flashes on the dash that tells you to shift gears. I believe if you ignore it, the ACC disengages. Touching the brake pedal shuts off ACC, but you can use the clutch to downshift while it is engaged.

My 25 WRX has a similar system, and you have to make sure its in the right gear. It can't shift for you obviously.

10th generation Civics had ACC on the manual models in the US. I had it on both of mine, a 2016 and 2020.

That's just some manufacturers not caring enough to implement it into manuals. My GTI has adaptive cruise and lane keep assist, you can even change gears and it will stay engaged. Better examples would be slipper clutches and e-clutch imo For those unfamiliar, a slipper clutch will automatically slip if the engine speed doesn't match the wheel speed, so you can just slam downshifts and you will never money shift, break traction, or upset the suspension with an aggressive downshift. Honda's e-clutch uses an electrical motor to operate the clutch for you, which is great for people learning or if you want the ease of basically a semi-automatic transmission. You can freely disable it though and have a fully manual cable clutch. I think this would be awesome in cars to lower the barrier of entry for manuals and for people who commute in traffic but would still want an engaging manual car on the weekends.

there's nothing unusual. The H2 SX is basically the Bugatti of bikes. Of course it has crazy tech. The ZX6R doesn't even have standard cruise control, & thats Kawasaki's mid-range sports bike, similar to the M2 in BMW's lineup.
