Nodded and smiled at Joanna Lumley when she just randomly appeared around a corner and got a lovely nod and wink back. Life defining moment.

Worked for us. The people who told us it was a rip off have long left London as its 'unaffordable'. No good if you want to keep moving around and sell and make a profit but if you want to stay in one place it can work.

Funny you say that, Albert and Barlter classic fries remind me of the sort of chips you'd get at Little Chef or something. They are very good.

Exactly. Ive been in some precarious housing situations in my time. Simply having somewhere of my own where I can drink wine all night, watch telly, bit if games and then have a midnight Friday night long bath is luxury.

Id be posting this in the legal advice page as it wouldn't be impossible that you might face some sort of legal action. I dont know what but you have released a noxious substance into the workplace resulting in wasted costs and leaving them open to legal action from anyone allergic or who had a reaction.

Don't trust the lazy kid to take the bulls eyeballs (we were cutting up in biology) back to the fridge on a Friday afternoon. He will forget and leave them on a random table. Then, on Monday, you'll have to get the place fumigated and the windows will have to be fully open all week to get the stench out.

Who's the coolest brit?

Posted by Ok-Fondant2536@reddit | AskABrit | View on Reddit | 430 comments

karlware@reddit

You're referring to one of the most brilliant things that's ever been screened. The sight of Jarvis being chased by a bloke dressed as Aladdin while Jackson tried to carry on his suspiciously child centred dance spectacular was funnier than the Blue Peter Elephant. Bob Mortimer also sat with him on his police interview he's also a solicitor, following the event. Just in case you think he couldn't get any cooler (applies to both gents).

Is it normal for people in the UK to find the names of small towns and villages funny and a little ridiculous?

Posted by Zatoichi_Jones@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 648 comments

If you haven't, you should really read The Meaning of Liff by Douglas Adams which takes these towns and gives them definitions. Eg Didcot - the little circle of paper cut out from a hole punch.

I remember a ton of zines from the early days of the Manics. They were great, titles like Assasinated Beauty etc. They got thrown away when I moved out, somehow. One of 'em was signed by Richie as well.
