Any driving lessons advice for someone who hasn't driven in a decade?

Lots of drivers are impatient! The best thing is to have confidence in yourself and take the time you need! You can be going the speed limit and still have an idiot ride your bumper.

How would you deal with a manager bullying a colleague?

Posted by shoolcs@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 29 comments

OneDay_OneLife@reddit

Not in my experience, as the company doesn't want the liability. Then again, it may also depend on the size of the company and how competent its HR department is.

Who knows without the full details, but I assume the letters from multiple individuals are to help understand where the failure lies, without it you have two people going back and forth. Is it the employee who is not good at his job, or the manager who is acting out? I'd write the letter if it were me, but my own account of things, not someone else's words.

You mentioned ongoing issues, so I assume it's not just this one incident that's prompted the managers' further action. What makes you think it's bullying? Regarding getting involved and the manager wanting you to write specific wording, just tell them you are not comfortable doing so, unless you are happy to write a letter of your own version of accounts. Or simply go to HR to discuss your issues.

It might be some if it, but there have always been people working two jobs to support families. 13,000 shops have closed their doors in recent years. Some of those ships will have been replaced with others, but some will have disappeared altogether and taken a fair few jobs with them.

Handing in a CV in person will never hurt your chances, it's simply creating another opportunity for you to be seen. Big plus in my book for client-facing businesses, as you have already shown confidence. I personally wouldn't handwrite your Instagram account on the back of the CV, but if it's your portfolio of work, I don't see why you couldn't reference it in the body of your CV.

Who are taxi drivers talking to, and what are they talking about?

Most likely a family member or a group call with other drivers. A driver once apologised to me at the end of the ride for being on a call; it was his brother who lived in another country.
