I got to bed when my missus does most nights and we eat chocolate amd watch YouTube or a movie. What your BF is doing is very controlling. Your mother forcing everyone else to go to bed too is actually insane.

Obviously you all watch these shows I'm about to name but no one and I mean no one around my area watched any anime or anything like that, they knew of DBZ but none of them watched it, digimon, Rupert the bear, carebares when I was even younger. Literally none of my peers or peers of peers had ever seen any of those shows. Weird.

People who gave up their 9-5 and steady salary to start a high-street business, do you regret it?

Posted by Ok-Morning-6911@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 39 comments

Fickle_Acanthaceae17@reddit

I fit flooring for the council. I subcontract through them. So I'm effectively self employed but I don't need to find my own work. I work in empty properties by myself and I can do what I want with my day. I normally work around 2 to 4 hrs a day and make al least 4x as much as my 9 to 5. If you aren't already and you get the opportunity, take it. 💯 9 to 5s can be soul destroying. I survived 7 years and I was legitimately depressed. Leaving was so freeing

Those who hated their parents and they died, did you have regrets?

Fickle_Acanthaceae17@reddit

My father is an alcoholic. I hate him so much. He's always let me down amd now that I'm a father to a beautiful girl myself it kills me even more that he treats my sister, his daughter the same way he does me. I could never do that to my child. He guilt trips me. Trauma dumps on me and blames me for all our Fallings out, despite it being me who tried to fix the relationship each time and he would've rather went drinking.... One time years ago we wernt talking. After a few weeks of back and forth and me trying to have some sort of meet up we finally set a date, After two years of not speaking, he rang me on the day of the meet and told me his friend was back from offshore and was going for a drink with him... That was the final straw.

Tbh. I think it's the councils problem to make the tenets comfortable. Unless the store owner also owns the flats. Then it's on him. And they do have a duty of care. I work with Th13teen

I did 7 year retail. Met a customer who was self employed, made friends with customer, became customers apprentice for 6 months, worked both simultaneously, was run down but I made it. Quit retail after 6 month apprenticed for another 6 then whent on my own. Make good money now. Nothing I thought I'd end up doing and not my dream job. But it works, I enjoy it and the pay is good. Plus I've learnt a trade for free. And made contacts. Win win. Just go for it my guy. Just don't burn any bridges just in case.

How do you feel safe walking home at night?

Fickle_Acanthaceae17@reddit

That's quite unsafe tbh for a female. Don't you have anyone to carpool with or a family member with a car? Busses are cheaper than taxis. Maybe get a bike? That way you can stick to the roads, but that's also dangerous.
