Well this ARKA literally has a T charging handle so its manual of arms is virtually the same as any AR in service. Hence my comment. Well the SCAR, ACR, and BREN are basically the same gun just slightly varied flavors of it

AR-15 in manual of arms mostly… with the short stroke gas piston of the AR-18. Combining the best rifle layout with probably one of the best gas systems and you have a good recipe

AKs are available. An-94s are barely available. That sort of gives you the answer my dear friend. The An-94 is not a wide scale adopted firearm and it’s not all that highly reliable for wide scale use. It’s also more complex to develop, maintain, and costs a lot more than an AK-12 which can do the same basic job as an infantry rifle but better. Not sure why you’re blindly defending such a gun to be honest. Sure I like the gun even though the Kord rifle is vastly superior to it but it’s not a “perfect conscript rifle” I don’t think you understand what conscripts really are because if you did know that then you’d know the An-94 is not the rifle for them…

Steel cased ammo for the emerging Hyper rifle ammo needs?

CyberSoldat21@reddit

Troops who have trained with them don’t seem all that keen on them either. Don’t like the bulk, higher recoil impulse, premature wear, think there were also issues with the issued suppressors and they didn’t like how they couldn’t carry as much ammo as if they were carrying M4s.

Neither is insisting on a ludicrous 80,000psi round that is proving to be tough to produce and will wear out guns quickly. The entire program is simply stupid from a practicality and logistical standpoint.

No we absolutely can dismiss it as vaporware. Taking long enough for the Su-57 production to mature into something that can truly compete with the west and other Eastern fighters. The Su-75 is unlikely to compete with anything

Well the super high pressure full military grade ammo is hard to produce and the manufacturers are struggling to make it. The practice ammo is easier to make and even the hybrid case practice ammo is somewhat easy to make in quantity but the advertised combat loaded ammo? Yeah that’s the part of the equation of why this program is a problem.

Conversions are usually not ideal. Even these ones. I could have bought a MAS that was converted to 7.62 NATO but I did some research and a lot of people said to avoid them

Thoughts on the XM7 rifle?

CyberSoldat21@reddit

Even without FPVs most combat even with body armor isn’t going to really make a difference if you’re being shot by 5.45, 5.56, or 7.62. You’re going to be shot multiple times and you will die one way or another. The M7 answers a question literally no one with a functioning brain in the military high command asked… it’s a completely useless and impractical weapon system for a problem that simply isn’t a concern.

Has to be due to tolerances because not every AK will be made to the same standard and you see that historically with fit and finish not being the same across various manufacturers
