I thought they only made like 50 of those thing
Swimming_Stand_1675@reddit
I read somewhere they made around 3000
fendtrian@reddit
Gotta be a couple more then that if they pop up in numbers in Ukraine from time to time.
CyberSoldat21@reddit
They’ve rarely been seen in the war. Think even the Kord rifles have been seen to a lesser extent as well
fendtrian@reddit
What I heard from first hand front reports they are still rare but the front is rather wide and has lots of special forces operating inbetween which would be issued these weapons.
CyberSoldat21@reddit
Can’t imagine special forces wanting to use these things given their complexity and questionable reliability
fendtrian@reddit
Yes the An-94 is complex but its not unreliable if kept in good condition. Surely its a gun only serving the Gimmick purpose but also its a good gun like any of Nikonovs designs. They just where missing development Time. The AN-94 is the only gun that actually got that time and was modernized to some degree
CyberSoldat21@reddit
Any gun can be reliable if kept in good condition… but that doesn’t mean the An-94 is anywhere near as robust as an AK-74
Swimming_Stand_1675@reddit
Probably
Crazy_Ass_Nicky@reddit
Yea I forgot the amount the Russians produced them ,but as an avid collector I sure would love to have it lol.
GaGuRoShoMo@reddit
Oh Russia, you will never change. Trying to impress with a 20-year-old experimental rifle. Like if Germany would go parading around with the G11.
And I bet they had to give them back after that. 🤣
fendtrian@reddit
You wouldn’t believe how popular these are in Ukraine right now.
GaGuRoShoMo@reddit
Oh, I do believe. They make for great trophies. And pretty much every firearm is popular in Ukraine right now.
fendtrian@reddit
AN-94 are sought after and rarer then VSS/K
GaGuRoShoMo@reddit
I know. That's what makes them nice trophies. But rarity doesn't make it a good gun. This ian't a videogame.
fendtrian@reddit
You apparently have 0 Idea what the AN-94 is apart from Complex.
mrtbearable@reddit
I get what you’re saying, but it’s also a parade. The whole thing is about impressing the populace lol
GaGuRoShoMo@reddit
Just to be clear:
"Two decades old pointless crap that didn't work out isn't very impressive" is what I'm saying. "Which is why it doesn't make sense to present it in a parade" is what I'm saying. You said you got that. Apparently not.
Psychedelic_Jedi@reddit
They function well actually, their just to complex for mass issue and being in the field for extended period of time. But for in an out operations its great. Theres plenty videos of them being fired on YouTube.
GaGuRoShoMo@reddit
I know they work. But the complicated mechanics, cumbersome field stripping and maintenance makes them needlessly expensive and overall crap rifles for military service. It's why the concept didn't go anywhere. Not impressive. Unfit for a parade. Point still stands.
samuel906@reddit
I knew the magazines were canted off-center, but I didn't realize it was that dramatic
drummagqbblsw@reddit
15 degree is a pretty large angle. It's the angle of 1 hour on your clock
-Acta-Non-Verba-@reddit
Ah, the one with the counterweight!!! It must have been Show And Tell day!
Crazy_Ass_Nicky@reddit
Omg! Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! If only they made semi automatic versions before the ban
Panzerkampfpony@reddit
Isn't most all of the novelty of the AN 94 the burst feature?
Crazy_Ass_Nicky@reddit
That as well the barrel moves inside the receiver or some thing in order to yea stabilize the rifle to hit exactly where you a shooting in the same spot in the two round burst.
c1cada5@reddit
Those wouldn’t have been imported regardless though, since 2 shots fire every trigger pull which would classify it as a machine gun. Unless you want it semi-auto only but you might as well get a converted Saiga

Laughs in OG Warzone

Though it was guiet weak there, i still played it
spizzlemeister@reddit
so young.
yageletters@reddit
Back in the days, when they still could celebrate parades without the permission of Ukraine.
