I’m a teacher with summers off, and I just become a gym rat. People need something in their lives that makes them feel alive. If constructive sources of excitement are absent, destructive sources emerge.

If they are adults, have at it. We try to be considerate (quiet), but we aren’t pretending we don’t have sex with adult kids in the house. They know what couples do.

I meant sexual songs. Of course it’s fine to write songs about people of all ages (Luka comes to mind). It’s gross when adults write lustful songs about kids.

This is good to read! I’m really hesitant to use HRT because of some personal and familial health history, so I’ve been lifting weights to keep that good blood flow churning. I’m still not past menopause, but close—and I’m encouraged to hear a positive story.

Let’s be honest, some songs at this point need to be retired.

Nah, man. People who appreciate music appreciate Nirvana. I just got back from a road trip with my kid, and he played everything from Skynyrd to RHCP, including all you’ve listed. He played Nirvana songs I’ve never even heard. But he’s a guitarist, so he listens and appreciates with a musician lens. His first love is metal, but he knows his mama can’t listen to hours of metal 🤘

👆 This is the fountain of youth! It’s so good for muscle tone, joint health, and even digestive health. I swear this pose reversed my sciatica issues, which were causing me daily discomfort and ruining my sleep. I lift weights at the gym, and rest in this position between sets. I’ve been working on deepening this stretch for about 18 months. My heels are now comfortably flat, and I’m working on being able to touch an elbow to the floor.

Kitchens were much smaller. Stoves now are normally surrounded by countertops on both sides. That was not the case in my childhood home. There was a space and then refrigerator on one side, and a doorway on the other side. And I did burn my hand while walk in that doorway and touching a burner!

I’d like to see the wealth gap narrowed to say 80s-90s levels. I see the expanding wealth gap as bad for our society. I also see the national debt as a problem. Basically, I think taxes on the rich should be increased, with those revenues used to decrease debt and provide healthcare.

Go to bed. Stay there. Text your husband a list of what you need. Specific soup from specific restaurant (start googling menus for idea), kind of tissues, OTC meds. Everyone human in my house does this when sick. The other, well humans bring them what they need while they rest. Just do it, and expect him to step up. Show gratitude when he does.

12 year old babysitter?

I was a 12 year old babysitter. My sweet dad would walk past the house where I was babysitting just to check on me. Once, the toddler managed to lock us inside the upstairs nursery (the doorknob didn’t work from inside). The windows faced the front sidewalk, so I was looking out the (painted shut) windows for any help. Yup—there’s my dad, taking a walk! 😆
