I've wanted something "green" for a while now. Would love a similar-looking bottle with some kind of neon green liquid. Don't care if it tastes good or not!

I had to buy the set if nothing but for the bottles. I've got quite the collection of Star Trek bottles — Romulan Ale, Klingon blood wine, Cardassian Kanar, Chateau Picard... These will go nicely with the collection.

The Commodore PET 2001, a groundbreaking home computer from the late 1970s

We had a whole lab full of PETs at school when I was a kid. Some with these cassette recorders and chiclet keyboards, some with full keyboards, and some that connected to floppy disk drives, two computers at a time. I remember having to yell "accessing" when reading or writing to floppy so the other person wouldn't try doing it too at the same time.

The computer that looked futuristic in 1977 and still refuses to look uncool today

We had these at school. I learned a little BASIC off our school's mainframe connected to a teletype machine. Then we got these in the lab. Then we got a few Apple \]\[ machines (not even a \]\[+). A couple were even the black Bell & Howell Apples. By then, my destiny had been forged.

Almost certainly when the show was produced (and aired on 480i NTSC broadcast television), they didn't anticipate it actually being legible at some point in the near future.

I don't think WW was also seat-filler. He was clearly there for the tribute to Rob Reiner. This was reported prior to the broadcast.

Were there computers that used cartridges as their primary media?

MBSMD@reddit

My cousin had an Atari 800 right about the same time I had an Apple \]\[+. He was amazed I could take the floppy out when a program was running (after it loaded), since of course he couldn't remove the cartridge while it was running.

It’s tough to imagine the Enterprise without its famous firomactal drive unit, which controls the ramistat core and keeps the ontarian manifold at 40,000 KRGs.

My head canon is that he was just making shit up to fuck with the Ferengi, especially since they never seem to like to admit they’re wrong or don’t know something.

Laptop from the 1980s

MBSMD@reddit

My wife had a Tandy 1100FD in college. It was so unusual to see laptops back at that time, but being able to type a paper from anywhere was amazing. It was upgraded to a Macintosh PowerBook Duo 210, but at that point we'd finished college and didn't need a laptop anymore, so that was shortly thereafter replaced with a desktop Mac (though can't recall what model any more).
