First of all, let ne give credits to all the people who deserve them:

- Andrew Probert, who to my knowledge created the original painting back in 1986/1987.

- u/McCheesy22 who provided a digital version

- u/trebory6 who made the "extended version" seen in this Image

I took the extended version by u/trebory6 and used some upscaling to get the image size to around 200 megapixels (yes, you read that right, two hundred megapixels). Afterwards, I manually removed some minor artifacts from the upscaling and enhanced contrast for a better print experience. I was actually surprised how good the quality of modern upscaling algorithms is compared to a few years ago.

The original color space of the .jpg by u/trebory6 was sRGB-2.1 so not necessarily the best color space for printing but it turned out alright.

I then went to a printer and got it printed in 300dpi (or something close to it) on canvas with eight-color-digital print. The canvas got stretched on a 3.8 centimetre (that is 1.5 inch for the americans out there) stretcher frame.

Final dimensions are 210 x 80 centimetres or 83 x 31.5 inches. The saucer section has a diameter of 92 centimetres (around 36 inches).

I paid around 300 EUR for the print plus framing which is around 350 USD at current exchange rates (tax included).

The quality is pretty good for a print and I really like how it turned out. I have a few actual paintings (oil on canvas) that are of similar size and they are still superior. Nothing beats a real painting on a large fifteen-sqaurefeet canvas. But for a print it is great.
