Is it justified to be offended by my cousin not inviting my wife to her wedding?

Posted by Jeremys_Iron_@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 209 comments

Kizzieuk@reddit

Is your wife being treated differently to other family members? Are your other cousins allowed to bring thier partners? if the answer is yes, then yes I would be pissed off too. if the answer is no, then just accept it as is, your mum and sister are being idiots if everyone is being treated the same. Way to go to breaking up a family. just decline your invite politely and someone else can have your invite.

My landlord is forcing me to keep an "emergency light" on in my apartment even at night. What can I do about this?

Have you had to deal with disappointment due to rain on your wedding day?

Posted by MrShifty91@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 209 comments

Kizzieuk@reddit

I cant believe anyone would book a UK wedding and not think "its going to rain" Expect it and if it doesn't happen then that's great. if it does then you will cope just like you do when it rains at any other time.

68F I love the UK , love the people love the seasons. I have found the most negative people are those who spend too much time online listening to other negative people who spend too much time online. Outside of the www the world is still a great place with great people. just dont listen to the moaning minnie's ..

I dont, I do it all the old fashioned way. A bit of sun every day and cover up after a while until my skin is nicely tanned then I can go longer without covering up.

Are Americans just naturally louder than Brits or is this an illusion to me?

Posted by HibeesBounce@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 120 comments

I have found American women's voice a bit high pitch for me. I can do loud, but high pitched makes me shudder. There is a lady who does these shorts saying "I knew this was fake, but I bought it anyway" Love her, love her content, but her voice goes through me and found so many the same. They are so much better than tower fans ( I always feel other fans make the room warmer) and also great in the winter for circulating the warm air. that's when I use them the most. I have one right over my bed and another over my chair and another at the other end of the room . its bliss. Three fans £150 £200 to fit ( as I cant climb ladders anymore ) Bargain best of all no flies and I have a raw fed dog and cat.

No but a balloon filled with people just missed the roof of my flat as it was going over and as I run to the other side of the room to the balcony with my camera in just a short T-shirt (no underwear) and raised my arms to take the shot, the basket was right in front of me and all those faces laughing and waving and me with my crutch on full view. ☹️😂

How to persuade Dad that he needs a cleaner?

Posted by PynkPatterned@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 154 comments

Kizzieuk@reddit

Many people with tendencies to hoard and be messy are ND and if you think he is bad now wait until he retires and finds out that he will never have the time to do it (and will just keep adding to it) its because it does not excite him. I am like your dad and older than him and love having a cleaner now, they keep me on my toes and leave me the time to do things I want to do and not sat here trying to make myself declutter but actually go to bed without having done anything I wanted to. my home was not like this when I had family living at home. but now on my own I find it hard to be motivated enough to do it. I do it if someone is coming to visit though 😂 A cleaner can do in two hours what it takes me two weeks to actually do. 😁

I paid for a pedigree pup simple because finding a perfect dog to fit into your home isn't easy. I have cats, small children visiting. that in itself puts my home in the bin from most rescues. I needed to have a very young dog to train to help me go out (agoraphobic ) and be independent. I needed a fast learner and needed a very small breed. I looked and looked for a few years. but then see a little face, fell in love and now very happy 5 months on. . For me its people getting rescues from abroad. Im a tad suss of all these "street" dogs that every year we seem to see more and more of and more rescues opening up , its almost like some of these places are breeding them to transport to the UK and other countries
