What completely normal and acceptable thing do you inwardly judge people for?

For me, it's people who can't drive. I automatically assume they're a bit of a loser.
Disastrous-Place-846@reddit
Adults who dislike water or refuse to drink tap water or cant have it without cordial.
Get a grip you cretins.
Iforgotmypassword126@reddit
I just assumed they were neurodivergent tbh
thecxsmonaut@reddit
Fuck maybe that is why I'm like that
InkedDoll1@reddit
I am autistic and don't like plain water. But I've never made the connection before!
Proper_North_5382@reddit
I'm one of them. Water alone is just too dry for me, especially in the mornings. I'll have bottles of water, but the amount of liquid I have during the day massively varies if it's just plain water or if I've got anything mixed in.
Steppy20@reddit
I can understand not wanting tap water in some regions (London water just tastes weird) but to not have water at all is mind boggling to me.
KittyGrewAMoustache@reddit
But as a Brit surely solely drinking tea is acceptable?
Rowanx3@reddit
I moved to london for about 2 years and always bought frozen lemon slices for my water cause the tap water was not as nice as home, was also cheaper than buying bottled.
hyper-casual@reddit
I was gonna say this.
I'm from up north but go to the London office for work every few months.
I bring my own tap water because London water is minging.
I did Ben Nevis with some of the London team a few years back and they were bottling the waterfall water to take home to show other people how 'nice' the water was.
Velvet_hand@reddit
Thames water wins the English blind tastings regularly.
I grew up here, love it, tastes like home.
Now scottish water I will grant you is wonderful
Illustrious_Study_30@reddit
London tap water, straight up used to smell like bleached toilets, but was perfectly safe to drink . I visited every weekend but was living down the road in Kent and the difference was astounding. I'm not sure what it's like now.
TheDoctor66@reddit
Similar, adults who don't like mushrooms
Disastrous-Place-846@reddit
Don't call me out like this!!
julesharvey1@reddit
Cant have water without squash when at my in laws near London as it tastes awful. But at home up North only have tap water
Informal-Scientist57@reddit
I had an old manager who hated water, he also told me his wife would make him blended soup twice a week because he didn’t like vegetables. He was 38.
Abaddononon@reddit
I feel attacked, I dont like water without a little juice.
hippiehappos@reddit
Omg yes! Immediately think they are pathetic

People giving their children iPads in restaurants
soverytiiiired@reddit
Ahh but my favourite was when I worked in Spoons. We had a family who would come in almost daily and their son would sit on the iPad (no idea why this child wasn’t at school) One day while his dad was at the bar, the kid screamed across the pub “DADDY DADDY! THERE’S NAKED LADIES ON YOUR IPAD!!!”
Fl_mp@reddit
Obviously the kid was being "home schooled" by the ipad with naked ladies on
lacb1@reddit
ANATOMY IS PART OF BIOLOGY! NOW LET THE BOY LEARN!
Second_Guess_25@reddit
🤣😭💀
Traditional-Leg-1122@reddit
Hahahahaha
smiley6125@reddit
It’s not ideal, but as long as others don’t have to hear it and it goes away when there is food on the table it is no different to drawing or playing cards etc.
I wouldn’t do it at home but if the food takes a while it does help keep them occupied.
However loads of people just abandon their feral kids to do what they please in a restaurant. Or threaten “eat your dinner or I’ll take your ipad off you”. Hard nope.
Bubble-Master96@reddit
It’s very different to drawing or playing cards, it’s literally brain rot
smiley6125@reddit
Not everything on a tablet is brain rot at all. A tablet doesn’t equal internet or youtube. Certainly no social media and doom scrolling shit.
Bubble-Master96@reddit
There’s absolutely no need for a tablet for children. Anything that’s not the internet or YouTube can be done on a piece of paper or an existing toy. Screens are ruining children’s childhood and imagination
RoyalCultural@reddit
My daughter plays quite complex puzzle games that can't realistically be replicated on paper so I disagree with this. We have a timer for it when the timer goes off she knows its time to put it away and does so without complaining. As long as you use it as a treat with limits I don't see the big deal in playing some games every now and then. Youtube is definitely not allowed though.
Bubble-Master96@reddit
Then get her a puzzle!!!
yolosobolo@reddit
There is zero evidence that going on a tablet in a restaurant "ruins children's childhood and imagination".
Bubble-Master96@reddit
There are literally multiple large scale studies that show they absolutely do kill imagination and have long term impacts on children’s cognitive development.
RoyalCultural@reddit
Depends if they're just watching garbage or playing stimulating games / apps. There are some genuinely good educational games available.
Bubble-Master96@reddit
There are plenty of educational games that don’t involve ruining your child’s dopamine receptors with a screen
smiley6125@reddit
How often are you taking your kids to dinner for that to become an issue?
Bubble-Master96@reddit
I mean we go out for breakfast literally every Sunday with the wider family, and often going for lunch/cafe’s with my friends with other little ones.
madeonworkstime@reddit
Just because a child is playing a game on a tablet doesn't mean their dopamine receptors are being ruined
Traditional-Leg-1122@reddit
Just let them be bored
RoyalCultural@reddit
Yes sometimes that happens.
Super-Craig@reddit
So long as they're also giving them headphones to go with their ipads then I don't mind it one bit. A busy / content / entertained child is a child that isn't causing anyone any problems.
Traditional-Leg-1122@reddit
Whatever happened to talking to your kids?
Super-Craig@reddit
Nothing. It exists as an option.
There's nothing wrong with giving your children options and letting them choose for themselves.
Traditional-Leg-1122@reddit
Ask any 5 year old if they’d rather talk to you or watch Bluey on the iPad. 🥴
It’s the parents job to guide their kids in what’s good for them, not what they want.
Super-Craig@reddit
I wish my children would've watched Bluey, but they were much more interested in watching David Attenborough documentaries.
Which is fine, so long as it was within reason, I let them do what they wanted to do.
Wandering_ENTJ@reddit
Why? Surely those wildlife documentaries are more educational.
Though I suppose it might put a strain on forming friendships with other children by removing a common interest.
Super-Craig@reddit
You got it in one.
Most of my children were reading books meant for ages 9+ when they were still just 5 years old.
They had great difficulty finding commonality and fellowship amongst their same age peer groups.
SwiftJedi77@reddit
Sometimes adults are just stressed and tired and just want to eat in peace.
Second_Guess_25@reddit
What, the parents or fellow patrons? 😭💀
Super-Craig@reddit
Yes.
notmerida@reddit
sometimes toddlers do not want to be talked to they only wish for chaos hahahaha
Kizzieuk@reddit
Damned if they do, damned if they dont
notmerida@reddit
i’ve been known to put mickey mouse on my phone for my toddler if he just won’t settle, but the ipads really bother me. (i know im a hypocrite)
Raqonteur@reddit
We have an autistic child who can't deal with the sound or sight of people eating. A phone with headphones was a great solution.
Not everything is black and white
AAJ_3@reddit
I’m judging you for judging on this. 😒
gridlockmain1@reddit
I think it depends on the context. If you’re out for a special meal, you shouldn’t have to listen to tinny speakers on the next table.
tickledpickles69@reddit
Be real, its got nothing to do with the speakers/sound. People just want to judge. Ooo terrible parent for giving their kids ipads/terrible parents for letting their kids yap and wriggle around. People just want to moan and dont like kids.
Bubble-Master96@reddit
Yes terrible parents. I have a toddler, never once used a phone or tablet to entertain her whilst out.
Becci92xo@reddit
You sound like the most unbearable person to be around. Id rather be stuck in a room full of ipad kids blasting cocomelon then have to interact with someone like you
Bubble-Master96@reddit
Bit weird, cocomelon literally destroys children’s brains and is created to be as addictive as possible.
Becci92xo@reddit
Yeah thats how annoying you are, id rather have my brain cells destroyed.
Bubble-Master96@reddit
Hope you can get over this traumatic event babe xoxox
tickledpickles69@reddit
Thats fab buddy! Grab your medal on the way out.
Traditional-Leg-1122@reddit
Something tells me you give your kids an iPad in restaurants.
tickledpickles69@reddit
Nope, just let them scream and throw shit instead.
Traditional-Leg-1122@reddit
Perfect
Bubble-Master96@reddit
You realise you can have a child behave without the need for an iPad right
tickledpickles69@reddit
I have not once said that I use an ipad for my kids. Im saying its a bullshit excuse from the people above talking about tummy speakers. Thats not why they're judging. Also, I dont care how people rear their children. Because I dont hate children and i dont need to judge their parents while im out having dinner.
Bubble-Master96@reddit
I also don’t hate children, especially since I have a toddler lol. I will judge parents for putting their comfort over children’s development
tickledpickles69@reddit
You dont know that child or their development. Having a tablet for 30 mins while waiting for dinner is fine. Youre judging people from small snippets to make yourself feel better lol its different when people take their kids to the zoo or out for the day and slap a tablet in the pram.
Bubble-Master96@reddit
No it’s not fine, children need to be taught how to be functioning human beings in public settings without a pacifier like an iPad
tickledpickles69@reddit
Yeah, i agree but it doesnt need to be in a militant way. Youre acting all or nothing.
Bubble-Master96@reddit
I’m all or nothing out the house. I’m not anti screens but I am anti devices for children. I think it should be reserved purely for on a family tv.
tickledpickles69@reddit
That is your own opinion. Not everyone has to follow it. It doesnt make people awful parents
Bubble-Master96@reddit
It’s not actually just my opinion, the damage is being seen and studied
Bananaheed@reddit
100% this. There is so much hatred towards kids for just existing nowadays from entitled adults. It’s scary.
tickledpickles69@reddit
There really is. Cant win either way, if theyre quiet youre a shit parent for having them watch, if theyre doing normal kid things youre a shit parent because theyre loud. We take activity packs with us and colouring but waiting sometimes 30 mins for their dinner while sitting there isnt really something a lot of kids can deal with well. Weird that adults hate kids so much for being kids..
Traditional-Leg-1122@reddit
I don’t give a shit about kids pissing about in a restaurant, it’s by far preferable to seeing them silently staring at a screen 6 inches from their face while the adults talk. It’s creating a generation of humans that don’t know how to interact in social situations.
Just let kids be kids.
Bubble-Master96@reddit
I’m a parent and fully judge those who use iPads to shut their kids up. It’s not the kids fault, it’s the parents.
Becci92xo@reddit
Guessing you never had a gameboy or anything as a kid then
Bubble-Master96@reddit
VERY different to an iPad
Traditional-Leg-1122@reddit
Oh I’m not judging the kids.
gridlockmain1@reddit
I don’t give a shit if somebody wants to give their kid an iPad especially if it means I don’t have to listen to them screaming. I do care if I can’t concentrate on my own conversation though.
Beabettame@reddit
Yeah this. They should be playing their game on silent.
Buddy-Matt@reddit
There's probably an element of this,. But, as a parent who packs a backpack full of table toys for restaurant trips, its not a binary choice between screen/fidgeting.
And I will harshly judge anyone who thinks its okay to create noise pollution. If you want to give your kid an iPad that's one thing. But an iPad with the volume turned up and no headphones? That's entirely entitled behaviour of the first degree, especially in a restaurant where people have gone to talk - not compete with Bluey.
Redcoat-Mic@reddit
If you're in a public setting for any context at all, you shouldn't have to listen to tinny speakers on the next table.
gridlockmain1@reddit
What if you’re at a low-end audio trade show?
Bubble-Master96@reddit
Got an iPad kid?
toasted_vegan@reddit
Or people letting their children loose in restaurants
efitchuk@reddit
Or kids in restaurants lol
Justboy__@reddit
Disagree. My kids are really well behaved in restaurants but that’s only because we’ve spent a lot of time in restaurants teaching them what is acceptable and what isn’t.
If kids are running around causing chaos whilst the parents ignore it that’s a fault on the parents, not the kids.
InkedDoll1@reddit
Kids running around in coffee shops, between people carrying hot drinks and crockery! It gives me such anxiety
chillinoodle@reddit
I don't think this is the same category because, although common, I think most people would consider it unacceptable.
Traditional-Leg-1122@reddit
Most people? Not sure about that.
chillinoodle@reddit
If you did a survey most would say this is a bad thing rather than a good thing. Even though SO many people do it.
OkPea5819@reddit
Not a normal thing, it’s deeply depressing.
Traditional-Leg-1122@reddit
It’s not normal but it is normalised.
Antique-Proof6672@reddit
Can I just say, a lot of people that cannot drive have good reasons, such as disabilities. I was born with an uncurable eye condition and it has caused me to want to kms a couple of times in my life, one of those times being when I realised I would never be able to drive. I look overall "normal" though so I get asked a lot "can you drive" will you "learn to drive soon", especially at work.
My point is, we already know that we are "losers", we don't need other people judging us about it...
Beabettame@reddit
People who think they can make a prejudice comment and justify it because, "they have a (black/gay/ trans/ Muslim/ jewish) (friend/ boyfriend/ neice/ cousin/ neighbour)"
Snoo-67164@reddit
I would hope prejudice isn't considered completely normal and acceptable!
Beabettame@reddit
I think it is. Everyone and I mean everyone has prejudice and biases. It is normal obviously to an extreme extent is not good, but I'd say yeah it's normal. Look at this thread full of biases and judgment.

I don't mind slow walkers, it's the pricks that meander and then randomly stop on the spot, I can't stand.
LondonCollector@reddit

JBEqualizer@reddit
Considering the people who tend to walk slowly and stop are elderly or have mobility problems, only an absolute bellend would purposefully walk into them.

katspike@reddit
I think the only annoying slow walkers are the inconsiderate, selfish ones.
You seem like you have a genuine excuse, are aware of your surroundings and you consider other people’s needs - so there is no justification for being annoyed with you.

I understand letting people know of a death on social media, and I can even get that to an extent social media is a bit like keeping a diary these days but I think if we examine the reasons why we post about the death of a loved one on FB, for example, saying 'I love you so much'... idk man, they can't read this. There's a part of you that's weaponising this terrible loss for likes and short term boosts of endorphins.
Maybe that's fine. To me it feels cheap and gross and deeply disrespectful to the person who has left us.

MrDiceySemantics@reddit
When I studied tax (I'm a CA), which is simultaneously infuriating and incredibly tedious, in a series of video courses, my ability to focus on the material was further eroded by the narrator's inability to say "sixth". When I wasn't incandescent at sone of the chiselling ways we are systematucally bled white, or nodding off at the sheer fucking dullness of tax law, then up she'd pop with another "sikth of April" and I'd miss the next bit of the material being angry about that. Needless to say, I have steered clear of any tax work where I can.
perishingtardis@reddit (OP)
Contentious here in Northern Ireland! Protestant children are taught to say "aitch"; Catholic children are taught to say "haitch".
ComprehensiveRush746@reddit
They aren’t taught to say it. Irish has a hard H sound. The Haitch is a memory of our native language. It was used in the past to discriminate in employment. If someone at interview had a name which could be either, had gone to a nondenominational school and lived in a mixed area. And you wanted to be sure to not employ a Catholic. Get them to spell a word with h in it then you’d know.

There’s a wrong way to respond to a child’s tantrum, but it’s not realistic to expect people to “control” a child
efitchuk@reddit
Some people don’t even try. Then everyone has to put up with the screaming.
Soft-Put7860@reddit
Usually, the things people think parents should do make things worse - when my son was younger and had a melt down in a cafe, i’d take him outside to minimise disruption for others.
But you can’t stop a tantrum and it’s often counterproductive to even try
efitchuk@reddit
Yes, but you did try - you took him outside! A lot of people just ignore them and let them carry on and that’s what I’m referring to. They might shout at them to shut up when even I know that’s not going to help. You removed your son from the situation and spoke to him - that’s all I mean by “control”.

In the majority of cases, yes. But we had an autistic child who would blow if things weren't a certain way. Its far more embarrassing for the parents than onlookers.

Same, i judge myself for it too, i did about 2.1k of lessons back in 2020 when it was £25 per hour, had my own car i was learning in with my parents and failed my test 4 times before we went into lock down.
I just crumble at the sight of someone with a clip board.
Im a chef and we had EHO in about a month ago and thats just a man walking around with a clipboard as well, he asked me how long i had been working at my place and my brain just went ‘an hour’ literally been working there for over a year with a promotion. Assessment just crumbles my nerve so bad.
InkedDoll1@reddit
Same. I had so many lessons. But I just couldn't do it. I'm dyspraxic and autistic, undiagnosed at the time but I think it contributed. Everyone is safer with me off the roads.

The no vegetables or fruit thing can often be a result of neurodivergence so I've learned to be less judgemental, but I had a colleague like that and it was horrible sitting next to her at work. The giant, sticky mayo bottle sat beside her keyboard through the day.
75% of the reason I left probably.
We also went to a client event and we'd been asked for our dietary preferences in advance, which apparently meant it was perfectly appropriate for her to see smoked salmon among the very large buffet offerings and start loudly complaining "I DID say, if swims in the sea it ISN'T for me" like she'd expected the buffet to be tailored to her palate

I used to live with a very weird person at university. Extemely obese, angry lesbian stereotype. Nothing particularly wrong there, but every night they ate the same thing - spaghetti, always broken in half going into the pan, and covered in enormous amounts of mayonnaise.
Every. Day.
fluentindothraki@reddit
That's neurodivergent. This person didn't choose to live like that.
maersyl@reddit
We had this at our wedding. Wife and I are vegetarian and our entire wedding was vegetarian. Some of her family took issue with this and were saying “it’s not a meal without meat.”
Madness, really.
Cultural-Ambition211@reddit
At a normal wedding you would expect there to be a vegetarian option, right? Someone needs to specifically cater for your chosen dietary restrictions.
Is there an argument it should work the other way?
fluentindothraki@reddit
Just to be devil's advocate: every meat eater I know is making extra meals for vegetarians and vegans at weddings and dinner parties etc. They could just say 'stick to the side dishes' but they make sure there is nut roast or some other "main event".
Wouldn't it be polite for this to go both directions? (I am flexitarian so not an issue for me, I just genuinely like to hear people's thoughts)
No_Story5313@reddit
I just think, you're a grown arse adult. In a similar way, I hate wearing suits - seriously, really hate them, Im 44 and have one which Ive worn to 4 weddings in my life.
Point is, as an adult, sometimes you have to just man up (in the correct context) and deal with something for a short a period of time.

Absolutely. Sometimes we have to just endure something and it speaks volumes to the character of a person how they handle that.

Ecstatic_Effective42@reddit
You've met my brother. The only veg he will eat are potatoes and peas (processed)
hyper-casual@reddit
This pisses me off, too.
I'm veggie, but my partner has some family members who can't conceive of a meal with no meat. I was going to make a curry and they wouldn't eat it because there wasn't any meat.
I said I'd do it without Quorn or tofu etc but they wouldn't entertain the idea. It was going to be exactly the same ingredients as they'd usually have. Same veg etc just no meat, so clearly it was inedible.
I pointed out they'd eat a bag of chips from the chippy or a cheese toastie. By their logic those meals are inedible.

Illustrious_Study_30@reddit
People with big arses sticking out , walking at a snail's pace are hard to move around with a big trolley. These people have a special talent for being an obstruction.
maersyl@reddit
Mine is probably going to be very unpopular but:
Parents who block an entire pavement with their pushchair so they can have a chat. Just move over to the side or something. They’re always in groups of like three and their pushchairs just take up the entire pavement. Perfectly acceptable and normal in society but I just judge their spatial / social awareness.
People who don’t reverse bay park. Probably because my driving instructor was ex police and would always drum it into me to reverse into a bay for more control and for better view when exiting the bay. I have softened on this to give people who need boot access a pass such as parents and disabled folk.
Slow walkers. We need lanes on pavements for people who dawdle. I know everyone has different walking speeds and abilities so it’s totally acceptable but I’m a fast walker and like to get to where I need to go.
I don’t have kids and I know it’s totally acceptable to book your annual leave whenever you want, but I always think to myself it’s inconsiderate of child free people to book leave during summer holidays and Christmas which denies family people the opportunity if they didn’t get their leave booked in first. I think this comes from when I was working in a different job and a colleague would actually comment on their delight that another couldn’t get leave during these times to be with their kids because they simply hadn’t booked it early enough - totally fair system in that if you don’t plan ahead then you can’t complain, but it just seemed dickish to take delight in that. I’ve always, since then, booked my leave to be considerate of those with families.
budgiebirdman@reddit
Fuck people with kids. Especially when they think they're entitled to not work over Christmas because "it's for the children" and anyone without kids has to support their life choices.
CaptainMcClutch@reddit
This is the one that gets me, I know people who will intentionally book alternative days off for their allowance then try to say they need Christmas Eve and Boxing Day off on top of it because they have to play Santa. I wouldn't even have minded if they just booked it with the allowance, they purposely used their kids to try and get extra.
Also worked a long way from home for a fashion, I had a guy yelling at me then telling my coworkers I was a jerk because I wouldn't work his weekend for him "since you aren't going home to your family" he went home every weekend and I just wanted a weekend off. Didn't like that it was guilt trippy and somewhat rubbing my face in the fact it wasn't so easy or cheap for me to visit my own family.
maersyl@reddit
People with kids have already been fucked, that’s why they have kids!
This_Suit8791@reddit
The reverse parking totally agree with. I’m the same was always told of my dad to do it as it’s much easier to reverse in to a bay than out not being able to see what’s coming and having more space to turn the wheel.
It just shows which is easier as most businesses with a smaller car park enforce reverse parking in to bays.
90210fred@reddit
1 you've come back to your car with a supermarket trolley full of food (just why?) and
2 the people at my local hospital who reverse into bays alongside buildings where it clearly says DON'T REVERSE PARK BECAUSE THE FUMES COME IN
maersyl@reddit
Yeah my driving instructor used to say the police inspector would pop a lung if anyone parked the police vehicles front way in, as it is a safety issue should there be an emergency and they all need to dispatch - much easier to see who’s going when you’re all pointing out of the bay.
Not that I imagine the same scenario occurring at Tesco, but my instructor totally drummed that into me!
colin_staples@reddit
Re: the Christmas holiday thing
Why should child-free people (for whatever reason) not be allowed to have Christmas off to spend time with their families? With their elderly parents or siblings?
The world - and Christmas - doesn't revolve around children or people who have children
maersyl@reddit
I never said they weren’t allowed.
T4rch@reddit
I agree with a few of your points - pyjamas to go out is just a big nono, despite how busy you may be you can make a bit of an effort 🤣 I do actually wear gym gear a lot of the time but it's because I work from home and train twice a day, so for me it doesn't really make sense to dress smartly until the weekend, hardly anyone's going to see me other than in the gym anyway as I'm mostly at home.
Laslty, I'm also a parent and completely agree with your point about blocking an entire pavement with a pushchair, it's just inconsiderate. People typically don't know they're doing it though, just get into a conversation and aren't self aware. Another thing is people who see a space for 2 cars and park in the middle, taking up both.... Special place in hell for them 🤣
maersyl@reddit
I get to say my first ever “happy cake day” to someone!

Also fuck those people who take up two spaces. Also fuck those who park so far over to one side that you can’t viably use the space next to them.

It kind of just feels rude and inconsiderate. Especially when people are doing it in the gym or on the bus
Bubble-Master96@reddit
How is it any different to people having a conversation?
Obvious-Water569@reddit
Yeah exactly. I really don't get what OC's beef is. There are lots of situations where it's rude for someone to be on a phone call (quiet car on a train, in a library, while being served at a shop checkout etc.) but simply being on the phone in public is not rude.
Purple_Moon516@reddit
Would you think the same if they were in a call/recording a voice message but with their phone instead of the airpods?
Mobile-Access-9693@reddit
Probably, and if they were listening to the messages out loud that would just be outright inconsiderate. But I've never seen this myself
Twinkubusz@reddit
...you'd think it was unacceptable for someone to have a phone call in public?
salutdamour@reddit
Preferable to those FaceTime out loud wankers I seem to be plagued with any time I’m on the bus
Master-Necessary7560@reddit
Well done! This is the first comment I’ve seen that actually fits the title
T4rch@reddit
Swearing regularly or lack of manners, just shows low intelligence. That and being inconsiderate in general
Aromatic_Pea_4249@reddit
I'm sure there's things you can't do too but does that make you a bit of a loser? There's many reasons that people can't or don't drive. Plus many that do but shouldn't be on the road!
ChallengingKumquat@reddit
The question is something normal and acceptable which we judge others for. All the answers can be argued against by saying there are many good reasons why people do them, and we shouldn't judge them for it.
I agree with OP; if you live outside of London and don't drive, it does seem a bit sad.
DeirdreBarstool@reddit
Why only London? I live in Newcastle city centre. We have a metro system. I walk to work. I can roll home from the bars and restaurants. I’m sure there are other similar cities in the UK where cars aren’t necessary.
I have a licence but don’t have a car because I don’t need one. I’m far from a loser.
YouCantGiveBabyBooze@reddit
actually have a lot of respect for people who use alternatives to driving and make it work. it's probably what more people should be doing really.
Business_Cake_2272@reddit
I agree. Not driving outside of London is up there with not exercising and not having any hobbies besides "hanging out with friends". Bit sad really.
MassivBereavement@reddit
I think you've missed the point, OP said its normal and acceptable to not drive

PartyPoison98@reddit
Driving is a mixed bag. I know people who are born, raised and still live in inner London, so I get why they wouldn't bother.
Honestly I still judge some unemployed/neet/economically inactive people. Don't get me wrong, I know plenty of talented, hardworking people who are genuinely struggling for a job, but I've also got a flatmate who is the literal stereotype of staying in his room gaming all day and complaining how haaard the job market is.

paulmclaughlin@reddit
To be fair the question is specifically about prejudices against normal and acceptable things. By definition we should en masse be thinking that there's nothing wrong with the things!
Glass_Argument3644@reddit
Agreed, my first thought when looking through the comments was "some of these aren't normal acceptable things, they are just annoying things people don't like"

Like I get it, I can over take, and there is no traffic except us, but come on now. Your car can do 70mph, the conditions are allowing for 70mph, just do the 70mph.
Diffco@reddit
You never heard of economical mpg?
Sirlacker@reddit
If you don't get up to speed reasonably and/or you don't hit the speed limit of the road when conditions allow, you can fail your driving test. This shouldn't be suddenly an optional thing onve you've passed.
Also OP asked for reasonable things other people do that make you annoyed. This is a reasonable thing people do that make me annoyed.

We had a client at work who exploded at our delivery driver because he got there at 8am. Our delivery driver dropped the machine off before he told me what happened. When he came and told me I was that mad I went to his house and gave him a rollicking and showed him the emails and messages where he requested delivery between 7-8am. He said “well I hadn’t had my coffee and I had a late night”. I told him to never order from us again and I’ll honour the service requirements on the machine he bought from us but that’s the end of our working relationship.

Material-Macaroon724@reddit
Lifting more weight doesn’t equal a better workout
OddSign2828@reddit
Lifting to the point you’re actually trying does equal a better workout. There is no value in lifting tiny amounts of weight if your goal is to build muscle, regardless of your stature
Material-Macaroon724@reddit
You do realise not everyone is a bodybuilder?
Purple_Moon516@reddit
Maybe their goal is different then. Maybe they just want movement or are recovering from something or don't feel like they can't do more that day.
Remarkable-Ad155@reddit
I can (sort of, in a very specific scenario) answer this one; I go through long phases of not using my gym at all and generally only use the treadmill when I am "on it" which, yes, I could very easily do outside for free but my gym is a community owned facility which also has the town's only swimming pool, which my kids and lots of others use so I pay my direct debit every month regardless and have done for years because I think it's important to support the facility. See also: the library, regular user despite the fact I have a kindle and can afford my own books.
Not directing this at you but I guess people not understanding the concept of "use it or lose it" and thinking only about themselves rather than the community is my "normal thing that makes me judge people". Would apply it to local shops as well, to an extent.
BG3restart@reddit
Judging people by what they look like they can do is just wrong. If you were to look at me, you'd think I was more than capable of lifting more than 2kg. I look healthy, but in reality I have a few underlying health conditions that mean I really shouldn't lift heavy weights. I go to the gym to try to maintain a level of fitness and stop myself deteriorating further. Improving my health at this point is a pipedream.

People who post on FB about deaths or anniversaries of deaths with the format 'I miss you, you meant so much to me' yadda yadda

Better_Carrot_3160@reddit
I immigrated from New Zealand recently. British people are far worse for littering and pushing into queues. I watched someone (white) only a few days ago in London empty a snack wrapper out of their pocket onto the sidewalk in this casual nonchalant way like “oops. What an accident that I just didn’t notice happen”.
And the queueing thing is a joke. People are always skipping the queue. White boomers especially. They do it by pretending they didn’t see you. Or groups of teens carrying on like they’re from America, just brazenly insert themselves into queues.
