Yeah but just imagine how hilarious it would be watching robots have a meltdown trying to get the bin to hook on the back of the lorry properly while their robot mate smashes bins off parked cars nearby

This is a very good point. Even if they were in the wrong to build it there, why would you move into somewhere and immediately upset the neighbours you have to live next to. Can you imagine how awkward that would be. I'd rather just look for another house

Let's look at this logically, how much does an animal like a Chinchilla sell for? £100? How many of those higher price animals would they have had in the shop? When you consider the tens of thousands of pounds that flood damage would have done to the shop and the stock, saving any of the animals at all wouldn't have offset that. If they were really going to be callous they'd have saved things like rabbit hutches or fish tanks which can sell for hundreds of pounds. I think this is probably just an urban rumour.

I grew up with a very abusive, alcoholic mother. She made our lives hell with physical and emotional abuse. She died when I was 16, and as horrible as it sounds, it was the best thing she ever did. If she's determined to destroy herself, nothing you can do will stop her, but don't let her destroy you too. You have to put your own wellbeing first. I know this may sound incredibly cold, but most people don't realise what it's like living with alcoholic parents. The problem with getting help for alcoholics is that we still treat it like a physical addiction when really we should treat it as a mental illness because the people who become alcoholics are usually people with underlying mental health issues that can't cope with ordinary life.

This annoys me so much about this industry and I see it more and more nowadays. Builders who turn don't up until 10 and have already fucked off down to the pub before the kids have finished school, radios blaring all day while they down cans of monster energy and get fuck all done, and what they do get done is an absolute mess. I lose so much work to these sort of cowboys because their quotes come in cheaper, but then they never actually end up finishing the work once they've conned the customer out of their money. It's frustrating because I always take the time to produce a full breakdown when I quote for work so that people know exactly what they're paying for, and that can take up an entire evening just to be told they've gone with someone cheaper.
