What has surprised you to find out on Reddit?

It's not that it can't help, it's that it can go horrifically wrong. People can give the right advice, and it can help. But a professional will give you that anyway. What the professional is very unlikely to do is give you advice that will really put you up shit creek. Someone might tell you to do something not knowing the right questions to ask to FULLY figure something out. They may think you have X like they did but it be singing completely different. My wife was a good example. She was having really had heartburn so tried driving milk. But unfortunately the heartburn kept getting worse. Turned out to be something else and the milk was just making it worse, luckily not in any permanent sense. But it's this sort of thing that a doctor was able to determine where a normal person didn't know enough to distinguish. Should it be something else that advice from strangers will tell you to not just do a harmful thing but potentially make things A LOT wide than just bad heartburn. Don't fuck with your health or the legal system. If there's doubt, see a professional.
