Are we the last generation to grow up with local TV hosts?

Oh shit, I guess I had one too. I always considered it more of a relic from my parents, but no, I had Rosco and Ranger Charley. https://preview.redd.it/cl9mwgf4j95h1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=76bc49847503ef1273a8f471b50cf43696e295c4

Hating a cubicle job was legit in the 90s; now we are so abused as workers, even getting an entry level engineering job is considered a winning lottery ticket.

How indeed?

Omg, they made a comeback? Nobody wants this again.

Why is this so unthinkable nowadays? We didn't even have smartphones back then and my parents often had no idea where I was until I popped up again.

I thought they were going to be huge forever, turns out they were just waiting for the brief 2 years their style was super popular, then immediately became dated.

Oh I will miss the era of oversized, super expensive movie sets. Sure the movie had to take place in only a couple locations in order to justify the sets, but they were great sets!

Saw it in theatres, have no idea why my aunt took me to it. My dad thought I was going to see “Oozies” and that it had something to do with the ninja turtles.

I thought I heard he was a fictional character that the actor made up and couldn’t get work until he did. I dunno, some mini doc from years ago I barely remember.

I honestly thought Gimmie a break was a way more significant show that everyone watched. Turns out it was only significant because it happened to be on at the time of day I was being babysat between when kindergarten got out and my parents got off work.

The Wizard. I was maybe two when it was actually on, and I doubt it went to syndication, but there were several episodes recorded in my parents mountains of VHS tapes that I watched a time or two before they disappeared. Thought I imagined it until very recently when I had an arbitrary inclination to look it up. And oh rad it’s dogshit. Glad I held on to that memory.

I didn’t smoke weed until recreational was legalized (I was nearly 30) so I never got to smoke out of these. But I remember thinking all weed pipes were supposed to.

This relates to us as well
