When not driving doing dock work, or driver meetings or whatever its hourly. Fueling, hooking and breaking sets, hooking and dropping single trailers, changing tractors etc is paid by percentage of your hourly. So hooking a set is .50 of your hourly. 31 x .5 would give ya $15.5. Then dropping is another 15.5. On top of mileage and whatever else u do

Yea i mean it depends on the gig really. If you're actually driving with a set route everyday cpm is better. If you're bouncing around town doing pickups n deliveries then yea hourly is better

Not enough to make it worth being hourly all day. Besides, if its bad enough and we're completely stopped i go on delay and get my regular hourly rate.

Western Express just assigned me a load that has “chargeback”. If it’s late, they charge the driver (me) $200. Is there any truth to this???

It happens because people cant maintain a speed. I get stuck in the left lane all the time because some moron is going 60-62 then miraculously find their throttle when go to pass.

The Erie, PA Pilot is by the worst truck stop in the country.

Flatbeders, what's the best ladder you've seen that will easily strap to the chruck, when not in use? Right now, I use a kitchen ladder, and i feel like people laugh at me, as if I'm wearing flip-flops.

By the looks of these paystubs I think we can all conclude that foodservice drivers out here are getting PAID.

Dry van is just a regular trailer for regular goods. Reefer or refrigerated is for frozen or temperature controlled foods and stuff. You dont need to get on top of anything for these. You may have to climb into the trailer to sweep or something but its not that high up.

What dogshit company is this? Like the other guy said, you let them fuck with you they're absolutely going to keep doing it. When it's a day or so from your scheduled sometime, call them to make sure you're on track. If theyre trying to send you hundreds of miles from home the day before, say something.

Good for 65 hours? Local? Home daily?

Posted by Longway23544@reddit | Truckers | View on Reddit | 261 comments

Non Union Home everyday. I shuttle trailers back & forth between two warehouses. I work about ten hours a day. I start my shift at 1230 and get out at or a little before 2300 when the rest of the warehouse workers do. 51 hours worked at $28/hr
