Those who have driven the new VNL, how is your experience with it?

I got the 860 and it is really nice. I’ve heard people complain about the computer malfunctions but I’ve yet to experience any.
mdstratts@reddit
There are some issues with the electronics, mostly software issues at this point.
Otherwise, it’s rides very well (except on the excuse for roads in Indiana), has a good turning radius, and I’m quite happy with it, issues aside.

Also the cameras inside the dash are kinda annoying. My eyes tend to look closed generally, so I keep getting distracted driving notifications on my dash for looking tat my mirrors.
possibly_lost45@reddit
That has nothing to do with Volvo that's your company that put that in there
PhoenixSmasher@reddit
Inside the dash? That’s a new one for me.

Our day cab versions have been nothing but issues. Company ended up canceling remaining orders and switched to freightliner.
Personally I found them uncomfortable, scrunched up in the seat.
NostradamusJones@reddit
LOL, my boss just cancelled his new Freightliner orders because he had so many problems with the first two. (Gen 5 Cascadias)

They Ride nice and the tech is nice. They seem to have ironed out the software issues. The built-in electrical air conditioning system will freeze you to death without idling. If I was to buy a new truck I would get one over a Freightliner. My company has both and we have more electrical issues with the Freightliners than the Volvo

Ass cheeks. Cab is cramped as hell. No smart storage for things like phone, wallet, keys. Video mirrors are more distracting than a topless blond on a trampoline. But….. it gets fantastic fuel mileage. All this coming from a night shift daycab driving fuel guy.
Nicolastriste@reddit
Has a better turning radius than the Mack I was driving before. The only things I find annoying are sliding tandems and keeping the breaks released during an inspection.
cezar__2@reddit
Just don't. It's heavy and it has many issues. I had problems with both of mine. New trucks should not give you headaches
Milk_MAN1963@reddit
That's why my newest truck is a 2006
cezar__2@reddit
Well, old doesn't mean good or bad. I had an old kenworth worth 30-40k and invested in that shit more than $20k.
Milk_MAN1963@reddit
I have a fleet of 45 pre emission Western Stars running everyday. Wouldn't have anything else
Proper-Teacher2268@reddit
Best trucks ever built!
ukittenme@reddit
So far so good
It’s the best riding truck I’ve ever driven.
Virel_360@reddit
When I was looking to get my new truck a couple months ago to put in an order, I wasn’t sure about getting a Volvo or Freightliner but then I saw the new Volvo’s and the decision became clear lol. I went with a 26 Freightliner.
cezar__2@reddit
You made the right decision
wittywillync@reddit
The 660 sucks but the 860 is fine. Rides smooth as hell like a Cadillac.
Eternal_Wither@reddit
Worked for a dealership that sold both the new vnl and pioneer and they drove very smooth. They are nice but so much plastic on them. Unfortunately never got the chance to pull a trailer with them
