What is a place in the UK that has bad reputation but is actually nice?

I went for the first time last week. It is certainly quirky in comparison to anywhere else but I was weirdly impressed.

What completely normal and acceptable thing do you inwardly judge people for?

I don’t know if I’ve become normalised to it but it seems to have calmed down a bit compared to a couple of years ago?

Would a free return pub shuttle be a good idea for the industry?

Posted by spanishgopher2@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 134 comments

The pub I used to work had a farmer who would sink 6-8 pints every night then drive home in his MASSEY FERGUSON 8690. One lapse in that thing and there’s a bomb scene.

What's the worst film you've ever seen?

Like so many films these days unfortunately. No focus on quality, just pump them out as fast as possible. We’re well out of the golden age and it’ll take a big shift in mentality from the money men to return us to quality output.

What gives you the rage?

Posted by Ill-Door-8854@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 22 comments

benh2@reddit

Seconded. It used to baffle me but over the years I’ve learnt by being a passenger with other drivers that things like chatting and holding onto your vape like it’s a flotation device are higher priorities than the road. Oh, there’s another one. Vaping at the wheel. It’s way worse than conventional smoking because many people just do not put them down, ever. So they’re basically driving with 1.5 hands at most.

£17 for a 4 bed detached. It takes him the best part of an hour so it’s more than reasonable when you think like that.

Why are many airports in UK so bad?

Posted by Desperate-Drawer-572@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 28 comments

benh2@reddit

Dubai is a ridiculous comparison. UK airports are actually great compared to some. South American airports are a disgrace generally and even if you want a fair comparison, go use a few French ones.
