Do people truly resent going to weddings now ?

Posted by toastandjam97@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 648 comments

I love going to weddings and going on stags. It’s not often you get all the people you love together in one room, too many people then complain they are lonely in their 40s saying where have all my mates gone whilst also turning down invites at any given chance.

UK Tall Men, what high street brands have a tall/long range?

Hera hoodies are good size and length. Next is my go to for T-shirts, good price and good return policy too. I’ve found the sleeves on many places don’t increase in length so that’s where I find it looks weird. Jeans I’ve stuck with M&S and Next. I just can’t pay Levi’s prices anymore when the quality has gone massively downhill.

What is something in the UK that you have changed your viewpoint on recently?

I saw a video from Dr Huberman who said that willpower is improved by doing things you don’t want to do. For example you’re feeling really tired but you go to the gym anyway. However for people who eat you cant just stop eating, it’s like asking an alcoholic to have one drink and stop there. I’m currently in contest prep for bodybuilding and I am on a low dose of Reta and it has helped tremendously with food cravings. When you’re very low in bf cravings go through the roof. This has completely stopped my food noise but it has also dulled all pleasurable desires. I don’t want sugar, I don’t want to even consider drinking, it has also dulled the desire for sex. Some of the other glp1 drugs I’ve read have helped people stop gambling. I think all the stuff is really interesting and how it can help people. But I always keep in my mind there’s a quote I always come back to when having anything to improve performance or even supplements. “There is no such thing as a free meal”

How often do you replace your toilet brush? It’s got to be the filthiest item in a home but most of us seem to ignore it sitting there for years on end.

I put toilet cleaner down then scrub with my silicone one. Not sure why it wouldn’t be clean after all the bleach on it. Do people not bother with the bleach?

I’m sorry this is happening. Some people are dealt with such bad hands in life. It’s how my Dad died, got back off his honeymoon and his neck started was hurting on the plane and it was growing, doctors kept saying it was tonsillitis, anyway I had already read into the symptoms and came to the conclusion it must be this. Absolutely crushed me I was only early 20s. Didn’t hear my dad speak for the last 5 months of his life so I couldn’t even talk to him properly about anything.

Random one. What time do most people above 30 wake up at on the weekend?

Posted by manlikezuli@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 729 comments

SightlessFive@reddit

I usually get up the same time everyday, if I try to have a lie in it messes up the next nights sleep. No kids currently but I wake up naturally without an alarm for 6.30am It’s taken me years to get into a good sleep routine. I used to really struggle in my 20s. I am now middle 30s so this decade has been a lot of eat better, drink better, sleep better. I do however love a weekend nap on the sofa, my only advice is don’t lie down otherwise it becomes a sleep!

Next and M&S for me as I’m tall and need the tall versions. I’ve got Levi’s jeans still from back in 2010 that are way better quality than what you can buy from them today.

Some managers are unreal. When my dad died I got told I had too much time off and to come back. I had booked the time off work as holiday!! Took them to court in the end where he just lied through it. (I got a small settlement) I thought when telling him he’d of had some compassion seeing as he just recently lost his father too. He’s the kind of person whose whole life is work, he’d come into work if he lost both legs the day before. I’m pretty sure he only used to come in early so he didn’t have to deal with getting the kids ready for school too. I was 23 at the time so didn’t really know any better.

Why is Domino’s so stingey with cheese?

Posted by Far-Hospital-9961@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 96 comments

SightlessFive@reddit

I’ve ordered extra cheese on mine and it had the same amount as one without cheese! Same with ordering extra pepperoni and it having the same amount as a normal one. I’ve got photos of Dominos back in 2012/2013 and they look so much chunkier and not a poverty portion of ingredients.

The Lion King. As someone who lost their dad when he was young it crushes me, I can’t even hear some of the music as it just rocks me. Kings of the past just starts and I’m done. Still 10/10 film, I did my film dissertation on it.

Some of these replies are wild. People wanting to rush home and get into their comfies. Man alive! How about living a little, these people will then post in years to come I’m lonely in my 40’s with no friends. It’s a privilege to be invited to someone’s big life moments. Answering your question 10/10.30pm is a decent time.

I just always cook in batches of 1kg then split those meals up. The thing is what I tell people you wouldn’t fill your car up with bad petrol. So why do we do it to our bodies. I am a fellow gym goer and have 5 meals a day atm. Slow cookers and air fryers are amazing. I end up cooking sifdeeenr styles in different bits of the kitchen then freeze it all. What you spend isn’t excessive as this is your body fuel. Remember your body is keeping score…. :)

Our family split between a few stores and we all were the first there at 9.20am. We sent the mother in law home as there was no need for her to be at her store as the boxes were too heavy for her anyway. We got 2 for my fiancée and mother in law. I have already seen that people are trying to sell them more on eBay.

I don’t mind splitting it evenly just makes things easier. However I’ve been out a few times where I’ve ordered more food than everyone else and only drank tap water whilst they are chugging down pint after pint, then they have the cheek to say you paying more for the food then when the beers cost way more.

How much alcohol do you drink a night?

Do you have air conditioning? Is it worth it?

Posted by Repulsive_State_7399@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 206 comments

SightlessFive@reddit

I’ve had both. The portable one was good except in the summer where the sun would come through the curtains where the hose went out (I like it pitch black) just make sure you get one big enough for the room. The wall mounted one is amazing, my room is south facing and gets very hot in the summer. It also has doubled up as a heater as we ran out of heating oil for a week when it was at its coldest!
