Not "toxic", but what vehicles have fan bases that take them WAY too seriously?

A few mid 70s and 80s cars had sparked an amazing transformation away from supporting the US union industries as general rule. The things the labor unions did for improving the conditions of the average worker in the past are immeasurable huge and it's a shame we forget it's importance. The big three still produced cars with higher miles per dollar values long term, Cavalier e.g., but the imports still had a better acceptance levels. It seemed like a punishment public to makers after the 70s fuel crisis, anemic smogged engines, and thinner metal rusting; though a lot of the imports could be worse with open on-deck shipping. IMO the biggest problem was we never really let up chastising the Big 3 in the media and the unions were seen as overpaid, demanding, and lazy; and there were indeed some problems in the workforce efforts, but that doesn't excuse not making an effort at feeding your nearest neighbors *imo.* The US flag looks good on any vehicle to a "Yankee". The cause and correlation circles of consumer opinion and patriotism doesn't have to overlap to be valid no matter how stupid *I* think it is; that ship sailed decades ago and the public has to help steer itself back to the self supPORT.

Shortest produced engine in a regular production vehicle?

It's funny I was going to suggest going to Detroit for the Woodward Avenue Dream Cruise and hanging out early before the crowds really gather between 15 mile and north in downtown Royal Oak on the west side.

The make, the plate, the area, and the bears, make me wonder if I know them. I used to work with a vintage Saab enthusiast in the D that used a giant panda passenger.

Filthy as a fireplace if unfiltered. Not so much with good filtering I wouldn't think. Anyhow I'm just illustrating wood gas is pretty versatile and has been relied on in the past by some people. I've stumbled on youtube videos of people using wood-gas today and I believe on fairly modern ice motors too; in modern truck beds anyhow. Having some fireplace experience I have found myself wondering about the same things though. I like these enough to have watched a bunch of Bulldog meets and various hot bulb heating tricks. Hit and miss motors are a bit of an interest too as my family produced them for a couple of decades, lol. Not very big, but too rare today for my pockets to ever own one.

"Town tractors" Farmers wanted something they could take to town but couldn't necessarily justify maintaining another machine. Plus country roads weren't known for their dry clean surfaces; the tractors were better at it. You can find similar looking car-styling in the vintage N.American brand Minneapolis-Moline model UDLX Comfort Cab tractors, and a I think a few Fords among others. They look more like a hot rod with exaggerated "MPC Detroit Zinger" slicks than any kind of tractor.

So, this is not about two "T" logos that might be argued as being too similar in the same market; and OP's title and story is likely petty clickbait meant to make Tesla look bad, or was was just plain poorly written. Got it.

I once saw an F-150 longbed and cap filled solid with beer and they packed ice on and around. It was at the Indy 500 and just two guys finished 95% of it themselves from about midnight Wednesday until Sunday. Every last beer was gone before the race ended. I'd never seen such a devoted effort to beer, but close was also at the same Indy (been to over a doz.). There was one super drunk infield guy got his head literally stuck in their empty Olympia ball-keg trying to lick the last drips. His drunk pal trys to help and he falls wallowing in the infield road mud trying to get it off. Number 2 goes down as well. Once off, the helping freind starts to mime the idiot putting the ball on his head and the freind whaps it and idiot number two is now stuck for a few minutes too, lol.

The VW Golf/Rabbit for being the first water cooled venture by Volkswagen brought in a more northern demographic for the more standard hot water heating that wouldn't stop working when the rocker panels rusted out.

The RX-7 wasn't really ignored. The Miata was seen by the average American as a cute little chick car until the handling started proving itself in SCCA pop-up parking lot practice and races. That took a couple of years iirc.

They become weird snub nose pickup trucks like a 60s cabover Econoline, A-100, VW or Corvair pickup. 70s custom targa top vans ocer the front seats were pretty cool though. 50s/60s VW Busses had a full length sliding cloth sunroof option to go along with all those roof windows. Some VW Busses have up to 21 windows.

Are you in their head to know the exact context? Let's hear your theory. I could've agreed with half of what was said. It's funny I loosly point to a lack of compasion on the road where it counts while you make judgment over the frustration possibly driving the comment's tone without consideration for what's being said; like I've never been stuck behind Barney Rubble during rush hour.

I had to do this with project cars. The "garage" was an old horse carriage house on the side of the stable built around 1900 converted to a guest house in the 40s. So small only compact and small cars fit inside, ond once inside you couldn't open the doors. You either climbed into the car window, also a tight spot, or pushed and pulled them in and out except for a hatchback. It was easier to just push and pull it.

Does it pump oil or splash and gravity feed it? They may have to stop for oil maintenance anyhow. I know at least one old REO is like that. There is a well for every rocker arm and I think you add some to the open lifter bores too. You have to stop every few miles and top it off. The oil can is mounted on the fender. A top off was needed every 3-7 miles iirc.

I've had multiple cars make that mark. You don't really need a Lexus or Toyota to get there. My Toyotas didn't even make the 500k mark. Though it was really close for one pickup, they were simply average. You initially bought Lexus for the dealer service reputation, which isn't as good as it used to be.

This might be the most complicated machine some of these students have ever encountered and there is a lot of power there for somebody panicky about learning, etc.. This seems a safe way to test the competence of some people without weather getting in the way. Despite the text this may also be a general repair and tuning classroom too. The screen may just contain usful machine data for learning. It may even be an engine part's development rig.

I guess that I get today. But without a "why" attached it's kind of a baffling thought taking a potshot at anything but a pot on a stump. My immediate thoughts of shooting are more along the lines of target range time or harvesting dinner than "Mars Attack-ack-acks" action scenes.

Potshot? A potshot is an easy or random target or guess. I'm lost your the use of this word. Third time in about as many hours that I've felt like I just arrived on a new planet in that car with others using common words in competely new ways with no context link between the old and new uses at all. ...and no answer to the meanings either. Is this a viral prank that's still spreading?
