Boston has these "duck boats" but I think they're Vietnam/Korean War era. They let kids drive them in the Charles River.
As an idiot 6yo, I didn't understand how slowly a boat-bus turns in water. So after a couple seconds in one direction I'd turn it back the other way hoping for movement. Ended up driving in a giant S shape.
That one is a tourist thing. Ironically, Rotterdam has annother line of public transport called the "Waterbus", but that is a ferry with multiple stops that isn't amphibious.
