How do you stop comparing your life to others on social media?

Posted by Jealous-Lake5700@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 120 comments

GoodboyJohnnyBoy@reddit

It's a very interesting question isn't it, how to stop comparing ourselves, aren't we conditioned to do that from the very earliest times in our lives we're educated in that environment it's sort of ingrained in us social media just exacerbates it.

What frightened the life out of you as a kid? and does it still today?

Would you work a job you hate for 4 years if it meant you could save £100k?

Most people really don’t like the job they’re doing and they will spend their whole working life doing it in one form or another. It’s rare to love your job.

Question for anyone aged 45+: Do you remember drinking Lucozade when you were younger? Did you ever drink it for anything else than when you were ill?

Posted by Lopsided-Skill6659@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 478 comments

GoodboyJohnnyBoy@reddit

30 years ago I was very ill in hospital with double pneumonia I spent 6 weeks in there so I was at death’s door, one of the nurses said when I was leaving said she was convinced I wouldn’t make it through one of the nights, anyway one night about 3 in the morning I was laying there obviously hallucinating and just generally out of my mind when I had this almost divine revelation and that was if only I could drink an ice cold bottle of Lucozade I would most certainly be cured. I couldn’t believe how the doctors had missed this so I began shouting for the nurse to get me a bottle because this and only this would cure me. The nurse was not impressed I can’t remember much after that but yes I was a fan.

Do real Cockney gangsters still exist, or were the wool-coat, nan-loving hardmen just a product of Guy Ritchie films and British folklore?

They've mostly moved to Essex and some have even started referring to themselves as gentlemen and become very keen on gardening. The old Cockney geezers have past and that's just life.
