I'm just always amused by "Storm Troopers" armed with a 5 round bolt action rifle. They just didn't have any idea what the future would bring in 5 years.

[An American 180](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J50N5lQoAFw) would be cheaper lighter and just as good. The only actual target for it though would be a surveillance drone that's loitering outside of the effective range of a shotgun set up for max range. They are making some computer aided optics now that might actually let you zoom in on a drone 500 yards away and direct the "swarm of angry bees" at it. Like you say one or 2 hits is all it would take.

Almost all Soviet stuff is produced by special units equipped to produce it that followed closely behind combat units. Their stuff is easy to spot because the guys in it are always wearing clean uniforms, shaved, not carrying big piles of kit on them etc.

If it's good for twenty and you throw it away after 5, that's fine. A two man foot mobile team can only carry so many rockets, that's the real limit. I just think there should be something in between use it once and it only comes with one kind of munition and things like the Carl Gustav. Single use should still be a thing but there are lots of situations where you want to have flexibility of munition type and multiple shots but a launcher you don't have to keep track of when you run out of ammo. The original bazooka was like that, it was reloadable but cheap enough that you could ambush a tank and then ditch it if you had to run. If you are supplying a friendly insurgent force you have limited ability to supply, a box with a launcher and 5 rockets is way better that a box with two launchers you use once each.

I know you jest but I'm a big believer in having a version of many of these one shot weapons, AT4 for instance, that can be reloaded 2 or 3 times before being discarded. They should be use identical to the one shots so training overlaps and should let soldiers choose things other than just AT rounds when the target is say a fortified building, so they get a warhead optimized for bunker busting, HESH maybe. Fortified positions usually take multiple hits and 40mm grenades kind of weak for them. So something like the AT 4 that's still super light weight and disposable but now 2 soldiers can hit that building 3 times with having to tote 3 AT 4s. They can even load smoke or WP or whatever they thing they need with having to have a Carl Gustav team with them. Once they smash the position a few times they throw away the used launcher as normal and join the assault team.

Can we talk about the Browning Hi Power? It's actually an impressive weapon. Used by both the Axis and Allied powers!

I've always assumed that stuff like this either got used against one of their thin skinned tanks or more likely an LMG position. Shooting through logs and sandbags, that kind of stuff. With the scope you could shoot at a positions muzzle flash/smoke from a couple hundred meters.
