Rare and interesting firearms seen in use in the Russian-Ukrainian War, Pt. 10
Posted by boonegoone@reddit | ForgottenWeapons | View on Reddit | 29 comments
This will be the final installment. Minus a few repeat weapons, being able to make 10 posts in this series with 20 pictures in each (and that’s just ones I’ve found and chose to include) with many featuring multiple different firearm systems highlights this conflict’s modernity. It’s an amalgam of snapshots of time. A melting pot of ingenuity where advancements in technology have progressed at such an accelerated pace that the battlefield is forced to constantly coevolve alongside it while simultaneously bringing trench warfare and world war firearms into the 21st century.

I still haven’t identified this one. Possibly another Robinson Arms XCR-M? Still unsure

So many questions to ask, but this was a lot to unpack so I will go ahead and ask and see if someone knows the answer here:
How did they get the Flux? There wasn't an NSN assigned to it so how unless someone snuck one through customs to sneak around ITAR.
Strikerrr0@reddit
They sell the Flux Raider in Europe. It's not like it's some super secret US only technology.
Sig sells a bunch of their weapons directly to Ukrainian units like how GUR has a bunch of 516s and a few MCXs.
P320s are floating around the various SSO units.
_That_Guy_in_AZ_@reddit
So they have it imported then, it's not like that's not hard to do and would have been so easy to answer without the ediness.
That is already known what Sig sells to. And Sig only sells the Legion version with isn't FDE. And I never asked about that.
I also never asked for this information either. The Flux in FDE is a chassis, not a complete gun like the Legion.
Next time just mention that it was imported in Europe and they got some. It would have been more helpful and more respectful than that extrapolated lecture of trivial add ons that was never asked for. We are adults here so lets act like it.
Panzerkampfpony@reddit
Mate do you have any how fucking that rude was?
_That_Guy_in_AZ_@reddit
We're not mates, and do you have any idea just how rude you both are/were being yourselves? Big mistake thinking that the person you are talking to is ignorant. Always treat them with respect and as equals. That's how I know you are being rude, you are treating me like a child same as the other.
All I asked was how they got the Flux chassis. That's all I needed to know. Do better.
Panzerkampfpony@reddit
Don't be rude to someone taking the time to answer your question next time then.
_That_Guy_in_AZ_@reddit
Down voting me because I was right and you didn't like it makes you look sad and pathetic.

'Another modernized Mosin' 🤣

I wonder where he got the AUG from, I've seen at least one other photo of one in Ukraine but I'm not sure if it was provided by an allied nation or a privately owned gun.
Austria and Ireland aren't sending rifles and I believe Australian AUGs look different. Maybe Luxembourg have donated some in the past?
Enough-Scientist1904@reddit
Man i would love an SVU
KingofSkies@reddit
Holy suppressor on that Aug! Long long man! Also, is the secinf Pic an HK 433? NEAT.

I have a few more pics of them I can DM! Very surprising indeed
forrest1985_@reddit
Any reports on how many they have and how it’s performed?. Can you post the 433 pic if possible?
boonegoone@reddit (OP)
At least several dozen, and I can DM the pictures I have if you’d like since I can’t post pics in the comments unfortunately. A forum I had read last year had this excerpt from a user’s experience in Ukraine.
“HK416 A8 vs HK433 – Key Differences Weight: HK416 A8: Slightly lighter. Barrel configuration is 14.5’. HK433: Heavier overall, due to a more modular and robust design focused on durability and adaptability.
Verdict: HK433 tends to be heavier especially in standard infantry setup. Recoil: HK416 A8: Uses a short-stroke gas piston system with a well-refined buffer system, leading to low felt recoil. HK433: Also uses a gas piston system, but operators report it feels snappier and has more recoil impulse, possibly due to different bolt mass, recoil spring characteristics, or balance. Verdict: HK433 has noticeably higher recoil in comparison to HK416 A8.
Standard Configuration: HK416 A8: Typically comes with Aimpoint Patrol and iron sights. HK433: Frequently showcased with high-end accessories like: Aimpoint Magnifier and Micro T-2, iron sights A-TEC suppressor Rheinmetall DBAL More modular fore-end options and folding stock with adjustable cheek rest”
Outside of this comment, I’ve read that it’s slightly front heavy but feedback has been positive otherwise. Here’s the forum with more reference pictures and a detailed history of the 433.

PKT with drill trigger belongs in the museum, that’s art.
Cleanbriefs@reddit
Putting a lot of faith in a battery sold with 40 Chinese drill knockoff
BadMonkey2468@reddit
That PKT reminds me of that finnish veteran that made his own MG also with an electric drill
papapenguin44@reddit
The PKT with the drill. Is the drill just the shell to be used as a grip or is it doing something else. I see the battery is attached and most if not all of the body of the drill is still there.
dobrzansky@reddit
I think 20th is the polish mws 25 triangles in the handguard match. There were rumors some of them went east, but that's the first foto I've seen. Do you have a source of that video?

Awesome find! I think you’re spot on. I found it on twitter and I’ll search for the source once I’m home from work

This conflict is so bizarre
DukeOfGeek@reddit
It's always weird to scroll through these and halfway through be like "Oh hey I have that one with a better stock".
Hrajnoga@reddit
How does that drill trigger work? It's activating the solenoid trigger in the PKT?
Shuttle_Door_Gunner@reddit
It works if done right. Super easy felony if you're an American. For informational purposes, I don't recommend. 😂
Kindly_Independent18@reddit
That smol camo bullbup AK74 is so tempting.
reznov-where-are-you@reddit
love seeing HK433s in the wild

Net launcher in 12 is interesting. Is it intended for taking down drones?
boonegoone@reddit (OP)
Yes it is!
