I dunno if you are joking or not. But it's heavy, logistics intensive and doesn't generally accommodate modern infantry tactics. With no background information on this gun who knows if it was a serious fire fight, bad tactics, or goofing off. Based on the photo being taken from slightly above and behind while it's still this hot I'm going to guess it was goofing off or testing/training of some kind.

In the Finnish Army at least the barrel on an NSV is meant to be changed every 100 rounds in peacetime and every 200 or 300 in wartime.

Yeah, as soon as excrement impacts the rotary air moving implement I reckon those barrel changes get put on hold for exactly as long as you need to fire, which is presumably preciselt what happened to the poor gun in the photo.
