New Accident of Myanmar MA-1

Low-quality metal, but with high pressure bullets, barrel pressure is very high, upper receiver explode very often. Even EAOs don't use this, Upper Burma EAOs use Type-81,Lower Burma EAOs use M16.

I first thought that might have been something the rebels built in the bush..but nope, that is something built by the Myanmarese govt.
Oxytropidoceras@reddit
I know you're probably just messing around but the most common demonym is still Burmese. The official name of the country according to the military junta is Myanmar, but Burma and Myanmar mean the same thing in the Burmese language (in which, the countries name hasn't changed, all of these changes are in English)
SongFeisty8759@reddit
None the less , I'll use the modernish name as the chances of me being corrected .."well ackshually.." by someone using the modern recognized name is far higher than someone using the former name..
Mountsorrel@reddit
It does raise the question of whether, like in Syria, the rebel supply chain is getting spiked rounds (with a little bit of high explosive mixed into the propellant) fed into it.
Viktor_Bout@reddit
Spiked rounds use high explosive. It would be a much larger boom than this.
Mountsorrel@reddit
Well that would depend on how much high explosive was in it. If someone puts too much in then the weight of the round could give it away.
J3RICHO_@reddit
I've seen a couple vids from the junta side of catastrophic failures, so I think it's just a mix of extremely poorly made ammo, and extremely poorly made rifles.
SongFeisty8759@reddit
Yeh, although there is plenty of malice and incompetence in the Junta, I'd guess there would be more of the latter than the former.

Maybe it's old gun, but launched too many times gun-grenade before😂
Reasonable_Nebula625@reddit (OP)
Another reason maybe is that MA-1 be designed to able to launch gun-grenade, but metals is shit😂
duga404@reddit
I never thought you could fuck up making an AK that badly; even the botched Krinkov Ian reviewed didn't fail this catastrophically (at least that one didn't straight up explode). Just how bad is the MA-1's manufacturer?
drummagqbblsw@reddit
I want to see a side-by-side 1000-round torture test race between an MA-1 and an INSAS
duga404@reddit
One of the few cases where the INSAS probably is somehow the less crap gun
CaliRecluse@reddit
The Burmese military own not just ordnance factories, but also uniform manufacturing and alcohol breweries. Obviously a lot of cronyism.
duga404@reddit
The military owning uniform manufacturing kind of makes sense
CaliRecluse@reddit
Many Burmese people stated that while the military camo does a decent job at blending in dry grassland environments, the textile materials make the uniform uncomfortable in humid weather. A lot of Burmese soldiers wear football jerseys with a chest rig and helmet during engagements.
DukeOfGeek@reddit
If you are going to make bush guns for this cartridge, use bolt actions.
CaliRecluse@reddit
As stated, this is a domestic military junta gun. Additionally, rebels made better guns that take the high pressure ammo with 3D-printed parts.

Imaginary-Text4690@reddit
It’s a government made gun captured by rebels
Dudebutdrugs@reddit
Ive had a gun blow up on me before. A chunk of my left bicep is sitting in a field somewhere
The_Gabster10@reddit
Are you watering said field? You can grow a clone that way
Eisenbahn-de-order@reddit
If you can't make it stronger at least make it thicker 🙄 or stick to 7.62x39, lower pressure
FloridaManPrints@reddit
This is why I stick to properly manufactured barrels when I’m making my guns, damn. Glad these guys are okay
JonathanUpp@reddit
Are you sure they aren't shooting spiked ammo?
Brandon_awarea@reddit
That’s a pretty catastrophic failure to be just mechanical imo. Looks a lot more like excessively spicy ammo.
Reasonable_Nebula625@reddit (OP)
In that place a lot people have no concept of keeping bullets dry, bullets pressure are different even same cartridge etc.
ye3tr@reddit
I thought his arm was mangled there for a second 😐
MlackBesa@reddit
We take quality guns for granted and forget how comfortable we are with casually sticking our face & eyes next to fucking controlled explosions every weekend
Present_Friend_6467@reddit
Oof that sucks, glad they weren’t seriously injured

WHAT? SPEAK LOUDER I CANT SEE SHIT!
Reasonable_Nebula625@reddit (OP)
Ya, they are lucky
J3RICHO_@reddit
Those things are deathtraps, even newly produced ones run like shit, I've seen so much footage of constant stoppages and guns blowing up.
Unironically if I was in their situation I'd rather have one of those absolutely clapped out M16A1s or Type 56s thats been fighting in the jungle for 50 years straight than a newly made MA-1.
Reasonable_Nebula625@reddit (OP)
Even Lee Enfield better
Internet_Troll14@reddit
Can someone explain what happened?? Is it overpressured round??
Webkef@reddit
Facepalm... No hearing protection, no glasses...

Thought that was a chunk of flesh he was holding at first, glad it wasn't worse
