Well, if your hobby is collecting death machines and you decide to threaten your wife, maybe some precautions should be taken. Especially if you were old enough to vote around "the red scare"..
felelo@reddit
Oh, I didn't see the 'domestic' part of 'violence call'.
I figured someone was robbing the fella
_That_Guy_in_AZ_@reddit
That's a shameful low amount of ammo with that large of a collection.
shadhead1981@reddit
If they have super strict gun laws I bet it’s harder to get than the guns.
never_ASK_again_2021@reddit
(they don't)
turnwrench@reddit
I'd say that a 5 gun limit after 5 years is pretty strict. I think most people will agree with me.
Sufficient_Lawyer173@reddit
In Austria the law define guns in category a, b, c - cat a are full auto and pumpguns - they are not allowed. Cat b is everything semi auto, e. G pistols, semi auto AR semi auto shotguns . Cat c are like bolt action rifle. For cat c u can buy as much as u want, for cat b is the limit first 2 later 5 after 5 years, but with some good reason ( e. G sportshooter u can get a permission up to 10 cat b guns)
Echo2Actual@reddit
Curious, in Austria are there any provisions for historic/antique firearms or for a “collector” (for example in the U.S. there is a Collector of Curios and Relics license)? Thanks!
Sufficient_Lawyer173@reddit
At first glance it doesn’t really make sense that pump shotguns are Category A while semi-automatic shotguns are Category B, but that has to do with our history. Until this year, Category C firearms were freely available and didn’t require a license. Up until the 1990s, pump shotguns were also Category C. But then there was a crazy guy — people called him “Pumpgun Roni.” He became known for robbing gas stations with a pump shotgun, and he was the reason pumpguns ended up being banned. Semi-automatic shotguns remained legal because they were already Category B, and for Category B you need a license anyway. And yes, there is also a collector’s license. With that you can collect firearms with far fewer restrictions, but those permits are not easy to obtain, and your collection needs a specific theme, since the idea is to prevent people from just stockpiling weapons without any focus.
Echo2Actual@reddit
Thank you! Very interesting. Amazing that Pumpgun Roni ruined it for everyone! lol.
BonePants@reddit
This is always the case. Some moron or nutjob ruins it for everyone
Restricted_Area_67@reddit
He's not the one who passed the law, it was elected officials (who are probably brain-dead anyway) who took a single incident and passed a law.
Cloned_501@reddit
Full auto and pump action being in the same category is utter nonsense
Restricted_Area_67@reddit
They still fear pump shotguns after The Great War, never unclenched their buttcheeks.
sumosam121@reddit
Yeah this got me as well. You can own a semiautomatic shotgun but not a pump action. That makes zero sense to me.
Either_Reception4367@reddit
these kinda laws are still a bit based on world war times laws n shit so eh yea.

Bullshit laws.

Either_Reception4367@reddit
eh Kat C is still at thing. Just saying.
D15c0untMD@reddit
Nope. It is no problem at all to get ammunition. You are limited to 4999 rounds though, if you own more you need to comply with storage regulations.
Davenator_98@reddit
That is simply not true.
You can own as much ammo as you want, but you need to store it properly because of fire hazard safety.
Which means you can't store more than 5000 rounds PER ROOM, if you have more it has to be spread at least two rooms apart.
D15c0untMD@reddit
As i said, you have to comply with storage Regulation. I have not gone into detail what they look like.
Maxxonry_Prime@reddit
Damn. I can order that much online in one transaction.
D15c0untMD@reddit
Nobody tracks ammo sales though. You could have more, so long the police for whatever reason doesn’t search your house and finds it.

Proactiveselfdefence@reddit
Probably just showing off the dangerous military ammo boxes.
Darth_Esealial@reddit
I did a little bit of googling, and a little bit of breaking down the numbers. 550 kg of ammo is approximately 40,000 rounds of ammunition on the low end. If you spread that out across 70 guns, that’s roughly 585 bullets per gun. Give or take.
Allegedly.
I’m terrible at math lol.
_That_Guy_in_AZ_@reddit
What's pictured is not matching those numbers. They probably through it all in and didn't take into the account of magazine weights with ammo in them boxes and carboard, or those plastic bins. Definitely suspect.
If you math is correct, then why do I have more ammo than that in volumes in just reloads alone, which is lesser than that number you came up with. Did you factor in all the different calibers, different bullet weights, different brass weights with each caliber, powder charges inside each one, etc.? I hardly think so.
Don't use Google. Instead use your head.
Also, my factory ammo is much more than my reloads in numbers, yet my reloads make a bigger fort than that small pile of a supposed count by you, and is lesser in numbers.
fluteofski-@reddit
It looks like a lot until you look closer and you realize only the left are the guns. The right are just knives/bayonets and mags.
_That_Guy_in_AZ_@reddit
Nah, I saw that and my statement still stands because I ignored that and saw the vast amount of guns. Why are people trying to argue with me on this? It's a benign comment, trying to pain a different narrative as a counter argument never wins anything but it sure makes people disagree more the further we tango.
And I don't want to continue this unlike the other troll still trying to gaslight me over of all things, ammunition being low to guns owned proportions.
Natural_Youth_5941@reddit
All you really need is a few hundred for one gun though. It’s not like having thousands of rounds for every piece really helps all that much unless you’re part of a militia with the manpower
_That_Guy_in_AZ_@reddit
People who generally tell someone what they need or what someone needs, is always unqualified to be say that. Amount is up to the owner, not the audiences. And you are the audience as well as I am, but most of us or the ones I know in person, don't have a few hundred only per gun. We instead of have thousands per caliber, tens of thousands if it's a common round and used a lot.
trouthat@reddit
What so your kids can dispose of it when you die of old age? I doubt this guy was putting lots of rounds through all of his guns at his age
_That_Guy_in_AZ_@reddit
So when you make a straw man, do you really think it's legitimate to debate over? It's not and I don't care, plus my kids all shoot and so do their husbands.
I doubt you're trying to make a good argument, you just want to argue for the sake of it. I don't, and you are trying to push boundaries at the same time. Stop it, it's indefensible in any intellectual argument.
trouthat@reddit
I mean I’m just curious what this guy is gonna be doing with 10k rounds at 85 he ain’t going through them himself
_That_Guy_in_AZ_@reddit
I honestly don't worry about what another does, owns, spends, etc. It's not up to me or anyone else.
trouthat@reddit
Ah I guess I was just confused by how you were worried about how much ammo another person has
_That_Guy_in_AZ_@reddit
Ah, I know you are trying to spin this, I was never worried at all, merely pointing out an obvious fact that many in the gun community would agree with me.
Stop grasping at straws to save face, it's okay to admit that you were wrong. But gaslighting? Dude, c'mon that's seriously no integrity full on immaturity by a narcissist.

Threat Escalates: Weapons Cache Found at 81-Year-Old’s Home
Police discover massive weapons arsenal in Strasshof
March 6, 2026 – 10:27 (Updated 13:54)
Major operation in Strasshof: 550 kilograms of ammunition seized.
An 81-year-old man allegedly threatened his wife on March 2, 2026. When police responded, they discovered a massive weapons arsenal.
At around 7:15 p.m. on March 2, the state police command center received an alert reporting domestic violence at a house in Strasshof. An 81-year-old Austrian man is suspected of dangerously threatening his wife. The woman secured herself in a room and locked the door.
Several police patrols were dispatched to the address.
During the initial inspection, officers noticed numerous freely accessible firearms on the upper floor and in the basement. According to the Central Weapons Register, 70 firearms were registered to the 81-year-old man.
Due to strong suspicion of violations of weapons laws and the war material law, the Korneuburg public prosecutor’s office ordered a house search. This was carried out on March 3 and 4, 2026 by the Lower Austria State Office for the Protection of the Constitution and Counter-Extremism together with additional specialized units.
The scale of the discovery is considerable. Authorities confiscated a large number of weapons, around 550 kilograms of ammunition, war materiel, and various accessories.
Initial findings suggest that about 100 weapons were illegally possessed. Authorities are still conducting detailed examinations of these items.
According to investigators, the suspect appears to be a weapons collector. No evidence currently suggests a terrorist or religiously motivated background.
Investigators also seized data storage devices, which are now being examined by the Lower Austria State Criminal Police Office for potential offenses against sexual integrity and self-determination.
The 81-year-old has been issued a restraining and exclusion order, along with a complete firearms ban. After the investigation concludes, he will be reported to the Korneuburg public prosecutor’s office. The presumption of innocence applies.

Livid_Persimmon3600@reddit
Wow, the wifey Narc’d on em.
Happy wife, happy arsenal.
He was mad enough to threatened his wife BEFORE the seizure…..
It took him a lifetime of dedicated hard work and constant searching, research, likely travel, and education, on each weapon’s function, cleaning, maintenance, and use, etc. to amass that collection. I bet he feels very empty..
Livid_Persimmon3600@reddit
I thought they were miniature toys at first because the size of that table dwarfs them. Only when comparing size to the ammo cans, can I get a feel for the scale.

FloydDangerBarber@reddit
Massive arsenal? Give me a break. My next door neighbor when I was a kid had more guns than this. He was a WWI vet and gunsmith. I went to visit him one day when he was in his late eighties. I found him in his workshop standing on a table with his head and shoulders up through the hatch to his attic, drilling out a piece of pipe clamped in a vice. When I asked him what he was doing he took a big drag off his cigarette and said "I'm drilling out a barrel for a submachine gun. Don't tell my wife." I have no idea if he was blowing smoke up my ass. He had a lot of nice guns there, though. Lot more than this.
toxic7oryx7main@reddit
You're on the wrong site, I think you should be writing stories on Literotica instead 😂

Sweet babby jebus... An MG34, multiple Stens, Uzis, PPSh and MP-44s, at least one Skorpion, Lugers, Walther P34s, an STG-54, multiple Garands and M1 Carbines, several AK variants, an M3 Grease Gun, and a bunch more that I can't really ID with any certainty.
And given that this is Austria, a fair chance that they're OG military, not semi-only civvie clones that are the norm here in the US.

the_friendly_one@reddit
Sometimes they rent out the evidence lockup as an event space.
Budget cuts.
This was actually seized a while ago, but they had to wait for the photographer to finish editing the rest of the wedding photos.
Soup_F0rks@reddit
Do police photographers do wedding photos? Are they cheaper than regular photographers? Can they make the wedding look like a crime scene?
PJozi@reddit
Can they make a crime scene look like a wedding scene?
Maxxonry_Prime@reddit
That's five-ish tables. Notice the big double doors behind them? This is probably a big event room like at a hotel or something, so five tables would be a light day for them. A super light day.
Beagle_Knight@reddit
Or…those are some very tiny guns
BannedAgain-573@reddit
Surprise! Goat gun ad!
Voxbury@reddit
And a room with at least 5m ceilings to get an angle on it like that.
I thought these were GI Joe weapons at first glance.
jesustortellini@reddit
I though this was a GI Joe set at first glance
DemonStorms@reddit
If they would have pulled out and arranged every bullet it would look even bigger!
bodaway666@reddit
What's wrong with the scale of this photo? Is it all toy guns or is this a table larger than most living rooms? What am I missing?
Revolutionary_Lie199@reddit
That reminds me of how tables at the gun show in the 80’s looked like. Sad day for the folks who lost their collection, it was exceptional
Glennsii@reddit
What I question the most is how people can afford such an amount of guns. Some of these must be worth a whole bunch of cash to buy.
BoatHole_@reddit
r/knolling
JackFuckCockBag@reddit
Shit, those are real! I thought it was a table with a bunch of miniatures on it.
SnooSongs8497@reddit
Haha..I thought it was a cake!
TheDreadPirateJeff@reddit
Same. I thought they were all GI Joe weapons or something because that looks like a house and who has a table that large?
Wpgwatch@reddit
Uzis, a bunch of Stens, grease guns. A skorpion, a steyer tmp. Damn what a collection.
Sashasimp27@reddit
Second Gun left pp91 kedr or klin. Also Austrian Uzis. - Steyr mpi 69 / mp 81
MiseryIndexer@reddit
Two skorpions. One in .32 and one in .380. He's got collector brain for sure
TheGreatPatriot@reddit
Does he have a BFA for an M2A1? Think I might know what arms rooms that walked out of.
(For legal reasons this is a joke, I passed all my inventories and cleared just fine.)
LiquidC001@reddit
Damn. I wish there was a clearer picture of these guys!
Zethos9@reddit
Anyone have an idea what the value of this collection is worth? Some serious historical guns here.
brs_one@reddit
Fick die polizei
Onuus@reddit
This is probably the best day of the evidence locker person’s life..
Wow. What a collection. Fuck
comedycord@reddit
You got a permit for that?
MattWatchesMeSleep@reddit
What?! If this were a photo of a large collection of different aircraft parked together, aviation buffs would go frantic identifying each…. and yet no one is doing the same here?!
Get on it, cowboys!!
Darth_Esealial@reddit
Ruger spotted!
Paladin_127@reddit
Lord, I see what you’ve done for others and ask you do the same for me…
puella_venandi@reddit
Is collecting verboten in Austria? He’s got some nice old military pieces in there.
Mindless_Log2009@reddit
Whoever arranged that stuff has a knolling kink.
richardhero@reddit
r/knolling for anyone looking for more of this
babj615@reddit
Oh, FUN!
RevoTravo@reddit
It's honestly so nice to look at
WrinkledCrime@reddit
This is somewhat depressing. Most if not all of these guns will be destroyed, I imagine.
jdbman@reddit
Id be soooooo pissed at myself for not kicking that broad to the curb sooner
SuperStalinOfRussia@reddit
All of those literal historical relics are going to be destroyed
rulepanic@reddit (OP)
Hopefully some Austrians on here can chime in on what'll happen if to both the registered and unregistered guns if he loses his license
SuperStalinOfRussia@reddit
I would certainly prefer it if they were given to someone else in some manner OTHER than going in a comedically large trash can, but somehow I have my doubts
El_Cactus_Loco@reddit
“they belong in a museum!!!”
fluffy-72@reddit
*collection goals
Sea_Farmer_4812@reddit
So they seized the bayonets too? Or did they just take everything because the previous owner is locked up now?
Creative-Ad9092@reddit
Amateur.

Less collecting more like hoarding.

Elementwelder@reddit
This is how mustachioed artists get into power
Blondie-Gringo@reddit
That's one hell of a collection. I would like to know if he shot them and where?
Davenator_98@reddit
Probably never, or else he would've been discovered much sooner.
There-all-is-aching@reddit
Befriend your local elderly is what im hearing
Wpgwatch@reddit
I feel like that's millions worth on the black market. Wonder why he was hoarding it.
dj_kaled_anotha1@reddit
Man can I have one?
ACCESS_DENIED_41@reddit
Looks like a "just in case" scenario, where he was planning to arm his neighbors if need be?
NorskieBoi@reddit
Please send them all to me. Please.
wynnduffyisking@reddit
What is that tiny smg second to the right from the bottom left corner?
quadRail4000@reddit
Looks like a PP91 Kedr
wynnduffyisking@reddit
I believe you are right. Thanks.
Resident-Welcome3901@reddit
Wonder if this was the armory of a resistance cell of some sort-lots of milsurp stuff.
Aggravating_Cable_32@reddit
Noooooooo! Sad.
Alarmed_Bet_1242@reddit
If this is real that poor guy spent so much time and effort in his collection it’s sad if they take it.
El_Cactus_Loco@reddit
the sad thing is he abused his wife. getting his collection taken is just consequences for shitty behaviour.
PyroAvok@reddit
Right, because men have always been the abuser 100% for all time ever.
RoosterzRevenge@reddit
Do you know for sure that's what happened?
halaljew@reddit
I'd like to support the people of Austria by purchasing these guns and therefore saving Austrian taxpayers the cost of destroying them.
rain_girl2@reddit
There are probably more guns in this guy’s house than majority of humans have ever seen their life.
mechakisc@reddit
You're not even allowed to have very tiny guns in Austria?!
mechakisc@reddit
Lol even when I zoom in something about the way the picture is taken makes it still look like they're tiny toy guns.
fishman15151515@reddit
Seems like getting married was the problem here for this guy.
RidinHigh305@reddit
What an amazing collection…
Your_blackmetalist@reddit
That’s absolutely his collection, give him his guns back!
El_Cactus_Loco@reddit
nah. dude sucks.
steveHangar1@reddit
Damn, he’s got some bangers in there. Only thing missing is a samurai sword autographed by Randy Jackson.
CantStopTheStomp@reddit
Those bakelite 20 rounders are nice
Long-Time-lurker-1@reddit
“I suppose you have a license for that firearm?”
“I do for thisun”
“He does for this one”
“What do you mean this one? By the power of Greyskull!”
SebWeg@reddit
He knew the rules. You always need one more than the last one you bought.
fusillade762@reddit
Its saying he had a license for 70 guns but had 100? Maybe with the DV its made him a prohibited person to possess anything.
I bet Austrian LGS are off the hook.
WinterDice@reddit
The scale of everything in this photo is so off that it looks like a bunch of toy models for a diorama. Nothing here looks real. Compare the size of the boards in the floor and the door/window to the items on the table.
rulepanic@reddit (OP)
Source: https://www.vol.at/polizei-stoesst-in-strasshof-auf-gewaltiges-waffenarsenal/10031468
WinterDice@reddit
I didn’t mean to imply that it’s fake, just commenting on the strange scale. I still can’t get my head around the perspective.
rulepanic@reddit (OP)
Ah, okay. Might've taken the picture with some wide format to get everything in the photo which caused some weird image warping at edges
WinterDice@reddit
Yeah. I wish it was higher resolution, too. There’s some really cool old stuff in there! Those carbines and garands look mint. And what’s the big German belt-fed?
rulepanic@reddit (OP)
MG-74. Austrian MG-3, basically.
WinterDice@reddit
Wild. If I was independently wealthy I’d build quite the collection. Sadly, I am not.
Informal_Process2238@reddit
Solid collection
Dont_Order_A_Slayer@reddit
Is that a Klobb from GoldenEye?!
Pardon, let me have my pet ant tell me, because I can't see a thing except gun-shapes and some Tuppenware™ containers.
Hot_Restaurant_7408@reddit
Give bro his guns back
Sawfish1212@reddit
This is why you don't store them all where they're easy for jack booted thugs to steal from you.
icuchaseme@reddit
Wish I had a gun collection like that. I’m jealous.
UtgaardLoki@reddit
Fantastic collection.
Great_White_Sharky@reddit
Only commit one crime at once. Imagine going through the effort of illegally gathering all this up only to piss it away like that
lrrrkrrrr@reddit
What are these, guns for ants?
