So I have a good chance of finding decent work if I did leave. Which is a long shot. I hate current place of living but this job is golden for the most part. Just wish I was home more

They have mine set to start a shut off timer as long as my rpms stay consistent. No matter how high if they don't change after like 15 seconds it starts to countdown.

First time hauling reefer; why is this happening? Does it for a few minutes and then stops.

What’s your experience like with the yard jockeys?

You get good and bad. Depends on the dc/company I guess. I've met nice ones at Kroger/Dillon. Very helpful and stuff. Also deliver to awg...where most are inpatient and jerks.

one thing i gotta say about TA’s / Petrols their lots are always huge and generally have parking.. at least in the west..

I got one in southern Missouri. Usually the last ones Open in my route are paid. But people avoid them like the plague. But I also drive at night. So by time I pull in. I just hang out in a laid spot for like 30 minutes until a morning driver leaves. I'm there so often the overnight crew doesn't give me any flack for sitting there.

I drive regional and 90% of the places i visit have good 5g coverage. SO im ahrdly every in a pickle. Works just fine for my needs. Played a few matches of CSGO. watched plenty of movies

This asshole stole my 2020 Freightliner Cascadia with nothing but a screwdriver. And fast.

I want to let it idle straight but my shut off timer is messed up it will shut down regardless of what temp is out. My only option is optimize idle and set it for comfort/ battery

Runaway don't look back. These jobs are shady and cut corners. I knew someone who worked something similar. Halfway in his trip they wanted him to pick up a second driver 4 hours into the trip so the truck could keep moving. Forced to sleep in the passenger side. No hotels or anything

I'm still here and regional but still long hours and little work life balance. Stuck in this box is getting to me. I like being able to sleep in my own bed. Go to the bathroom in peace. And have a place to call home. Being able to take care of stuff after work. Watch a show or run errands.

Highly Recommend!!!

I wish this would work for me. The moment I park and pull breaks my idle timer starts. The engine override switch won't stop it. The only way to stop it is to push the gas a little.

I worded that poorly, but its not inentional. I'm actively tryig to get it resolved. The level and angle seeems to be correct. I think its the luminocity or something. When im behind drivers it never goes above their trunk until they are clearly ahead of me. I dont want to blind others and the headaches from all the constant flashes Im getting is not pleasant.

Yeah I mentioned it to my boss. It has to go to Freightliner anywho to adjust my idle engine shut off timer. Will have them look at the headlights as well . (Can't adjust idle timer at company shop. )

Eh. I'm on the fence about this. My company gave me a newer truck. For some reason lots of drivers assume my high beams are one when they aren't. I'm constantly getting flashed as others do to warn the driver. So I'm constantly being blinded and having to flash my actual high beams to show them they are not on. It's getting ridiculous

Been at it for 7 years and this the first time I’ve seen this, gave me a good chuckle

Or if you work reefer regional. Sone places I pick up need to have the seal attached before it can leave the yard. But also the trailer is a 2 hours away from being consolidated into another load. Or another stop. Saved the driver having to get the damn thing off before their final stop.

It’s not all about the money.

I enjoyed the open road at first . The yearn to travel and make money. But more and more I find as I get older it's the opposite. I work regional but still hate being out now. It's the small things that are starting to add up. I miss waking up in my own room and bed. Not having to get dressed to go to the bathroom. Or bring to use the bathroom in peace. Being able to come home after a long day at work and relax on my couch or computer chair.

I had a similar relapse myself because I was waiting in my birth certificate to arrive in the mail. Medical card expired before It arrived. So it depends on the company. I was hired for having previous experience but because of the relapse I had to take a refresher course and go back on the road with a trainer

If you have T-Mobile there's an unlimited tether plan to go with your phone service. So I get unlimited everything in my phone including tether. Also has experience with Verizon tether and using a program called pdanet+. Both have been solid for online gaming

I pay for a good unlimited tether option from my phone. I've had Verizon and T-Mobile before being otr. Both have been good for using my phone as a hotspot and enjoying internet. I've heard of others using the T-Mobile hotspot with its own sim card. But it's been mixed reviews. Some have starlink with the antenna mounted with company permission.

Is this true?!

I drove that path when i moved out for the first time. Left Florida with printed out map quest and 2 gamer friends expecting me in Colorado. Cutting directly through mid Kansas. Nothing much besides tumble weeds and 3 burnt CDs on repeat. Granted this was in the early 2000s but pretty sure it's just the same now. I found something to pass the time and listen to or enjoy the view

There's a bridge in Atlanta/ Ellenwood off US 23 near my old terminal. It barely fits trucks and so you pucker hella fast when you first got under it. Occasionally see parked trucks when passing through unsure if they will fit or not.

Most head turning load i ever had. Can you guess what it is ?

Yeah I've had a few red flags that made me iffy. Lots of things changed last minute with no knowledge. They recruit me and told me one thing. Only to have it be different when you arrive at the carrier. But I needed a job and love in the middle of nowhere. Had my CDL from a previous company. So tried to stick it out..
