lol somehow this unlocked a memory of me reading the TV Guide as a kid, and thinking "Off The Air" was some amazingly popular and extremely long show that was only for adults, because it seemed to play on every single station every night, but only started at midnight or later. I remember wondering what kind of amazing things most be happening on "Off The Air" and being sad I wasn't allowed to stay up late enough to watch it.

Though my phone has been on vibrate for years, there once was a time we actually paid for ringtones. What was your favorite custom ringtone? Mine was "Dr. Zaius", I used this for a few years on my Motorola Razr.

I right there with you. My sons are 10 and 7, and I see there tender aged traits slipping away a little every day. I do like that they're finally realizing they can be friends and have fun and get into trouble together. At the same time though, it's a bittersweet change, because before that, instead of being focused on each other as much, it was more that they were only interacting together to the extent they were trying to for my (dad)'s attention. I went from being the focus to now starting to sometimes feel like more of a 3rd wheel if we're all playing together. I look through photos on my phone.. I don't even have to scroll all that are and I'll encounter photos from a Legoland trip from spring 2024 that feels like it just happened, and holy shit, the boys look so different, and I realized what a big difference it is between 8 and 5, and 10 and 7. I don't know what else to say, but know you're not alone in these thoughts. I obviously wouldn't want my boys to stay young forever just for my sake, but wow, it has definitely occurred to me and is a constant thought in my mind these days, just how damn short childhood really is. Treasure the time.

"Despite all my rage I'm still just a rat in a cage" hits a lot harder at 44 than it did at 14.

While I understand completely, it pains me to think that this very mentality, which I admittedly share, means logically that no major action will ever happen, as no one can guarantee any given mass action to definitely work, which therefore means all conceivable realistic plans only "might work" at best, and "might work", as we've established, is not good enough to convince people to take the mass action..

I recently got into Pluto as well and agree reminds me of having an old school cable box. Strangely I find it easier to select a movie among ones that are "on right now", than staring at a stream service's entire catalogue and knowing I can watch a complete movie start to finish whenever.

No celebrity death has ever hit me hard. Is that a Gen X thing?

I actually think this is mostly a semantics issue. You mentioned "thinking about" the three deaths you mentioned "for a while." To some people, at least for a celebrity death (vs like the death of a loved one), that *is* getting "hit hard" by that death and what they mean when they say a certain celeb death hit them hard.

The only thing I could think of would be a woman of Peggy Hill's size in real life having legit size 16 feet, though I guess odder things have been expected to be believed in real life sitcoms.
