Pants TOO baggy??!!

Right? I recently bought two pairs of baggy low-rise Levi's. They are SO comfy! I've missed them, and this time I might stock up.

Now that we’re old enough to care. How do we feel about modern interior design trends?

Not a fan. Barn doors have limited use and eat wall space. Open kitchen shelves let all your stuff get covered in dirt and grease. Vessel sinks are completely impractical. Walk-in showers make sense for limited mobility, but you need to pair them with sufficient heating. Edison bulbs are pretty accents but should not be the only available lighting. And I *love* color. We need more color! I just did my bathroom in seafoam green wall tile and I think it looks amazing.

I loved that store! I still have a little glass bottle with water and gold flakes in it that they sold. It sparkles so gorgeously in sunlight.

Anyone else on here still medication free at their age?

Nope! Been on ADHD meds for fifteen years now, and just started on a heart medicine. Apparently my heart thinks it's fun to go zooming once a month or so. You want to live a healthy life, you gotta take your pills!

I was 14 in 1995, it feels like another lifetime

Right? I immediately thought, "get evaluated for ADHD". Then maybe I could make it through college with less debt and more social awareness. It would help my family too. Dad is also diagnosed now, and I suspect a lot of his family have it.

How many of you still have both parents alive?

My parents are living, but my dad just lost his younger brother in January. They were close: he's coping but it's hard. My mom has Parkinson's. So far she's okay, but it's a disease where you're just holding off the inevitable as long as you can. My SIL's father has Alzheimer's and is doing pretty bad. What can we do but take it day by day? Nobody's promised tomorrow.

Puffs and the lotion tissues nightmare

I have never and will never use a tissue on my glasses. Lotion or not - they scratch! Jersey knit, terrycloth, or lens wipes for mine.

Bangs in lieu of Botox?!?

I have bangs, because I have a pixie cut and a huge forehead. Man, wrinkles are whatever. I don't wear makeup. I don't dye my hair. I earned my age and I don't mind looking it.

What are your parents trying to leave you that you and your siblings don't want?

Nope! I got my great-grandmother's china. I even bought more plates for it. (The set was split at some point and I only got one dinner plate.) It's a pretty pattern and looks nice in my dining room. I was also fortunate to be the grandkid who was setting up a house when my grandparents passed. I got most of Grandma's cookware plus 12 place settings of solid stainless Oneida flatware. It's better quality than what my mom has!

IIRC the lead is encapsulated in glass and it's only a problem when the dishes break. Corelle is just being extra careful about it to avoid legal trouble.

My xennial ladies I need your help!! I hate dresses, what do I wear under my grad gown?

Posted by MisRandomness@reddit | Xennials | View on Reddit | 101 comments

OSCgal@reddit

Different shoes, then. Something in smooth leather, pointier toe, maybe a low heel. Loose trousers are fine. What are they made of? If they're a bulky fabric like canvas I could see how baggy would be bad. In that case you need a more flowy fabric. Look for office wear or women's suiting. There are clothing consignment stores that have nice secondhand office wear. Black office pants would look good under a robe.

Which pattern did you have ? (8 for me)

I was this poor! L'eggs get a lot of membaberries, but none for these. These were always on sale for $1.99 vs the ritzy $4.99 of L'eggs. A huge difference back when I was young.

I'm a woman who dislikes leggings. Not even tight jeans. I can wear tights when it's unavoidable, but it always feels *so* good taking them off.

My office doesn't care if we use the printers for the occasional print/copy. Like if you need boarding passes for an upcoming vacation. They'd probably feel differently about taking entire reams.

Why did everyone have this floor lamp in the 90s and why did it get so hot that it would almost burn down your house?

Posted by Defiant_Emu_3928@reddit | Xennials | View on Reddit | 317 comments

OSCgal@reddit

I have three because my townhouse doesn't have ceiling fixtures in the bedrooms. You want light high up, it's either that or a swag lamp.

Ugh, the fact that indigenous experts were trying to tell white folks that yes, dingoes are 100% capable of carrying off small children, and white folks just blew them off.
