Andrew Gosden, seeing his face on the missing people adverts makes me sad. There is a part of me that hopes he ran away to start a new life.

Not anymore... Loved it as a child though. I know you can use Libby and Borrowbox for eBooks/audio books but my local library only has magazines and newspapers on the apps.

Do you enjoy your job?

Posted by Campeones6@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 529 comments

IsSheMe@reddit

Yes (even if my mental health did deteriorate because of it). I'm a support worker, I work with a residential service supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism, adhd and other complex needs. I love the person centred approach of my job, the people I've supported have a massive impact on me. I've been in this job for 7.5 years now. I have made the decision to go back to university and study adult nursing so I can further develop my skills and add to my scope of practice. My current role doesn't offer that much progression other than team leader and management which doesn't interest me and I'd like to stay in a role that is person centred/focused.

Do you read books? If so, what are you currently reading? If not, why not?

Posted by theowleryonehundred@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 937 comments

IsSheMe@reddit

Yes I do. Reading keeps my mental health stable, I've just started Witchcraft for Wayward Girls by Grady Hendrix. This year I've read 19 books so far! I love thrillers and crime fiction, but I'm dipping my toe into horror and historical fiction this year. I use apps such as StoryGraph and Bookmory to track the books I've read.

The high street shops were sold off to someone else, so had to be rebranded. WH Smith still have the airports, hospitals and train station shops 😊

Yes, I'm 33 and on £12.21 ph. I work in adult social care in a support worker role currently (have been for the last 7.5 years) but I'm going to university in September to study Adult Nursing so I can progress within health and social care.

Did your employers give you any sort of Christmas gift?

Posted by TickTackTonia@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 60 comments

A £25 gift card (should have been more as I've worked there over 2 years), but when you switch contracts (permanent to bank etc) you have start over. My 2 years doesn't mean anything anymore 😒
