Right & left
So after years of wearing my watch on my right wrist but also being a righty. I changed to my left wrist. Did I notice the difference, not really, it does get caught on less stuff when working, at home etc, and it has maintained a better condition, so there’s that.

Right handed but hold my knife in my left amd fork in the right

Right handed but wear it on my left so it doesn't bother me when I'm writing notes (I'm a therapist)

Right. Right.
Although other than writing, I do pretty much everything left handed. Left-eyed, left-eared, left-footed. Noted during an assessment with an educational psychologist. Loads of lefties and ambidextrous types on my mum's side of the family.
TheDawiWhisperer@reddit
I'm the opposite, left handed for writing but right handed for nearly everything else..the main exception being sports that use a bat or a club
TheDawiWhisperer@reddit
Left, left.
I'm right handed for a lot of things though but left handed for writing

Neither/both, and Left
I’m not ambidextrous, I just use whichever hand is most convenient. Like reaching for something? Closest hand. Throwing something? Whichever has the item I want to throw.
Dining I eat “properly” IE fork on the left, knife on the right. I write with my left, I play guitar “left handed”
But my watch goes in my left as that’s what it was designed for
I use a mouse with my right (although I’m on the opinion there’s no “handed” computers, you use a mouse with your left, end of

I haven’t worn a watch since I got a cellphone, it just seems unnecessary,

Right, left. Longer answer: When I'm writing my clinical notes with my right hand I can check the time on my left without pausing.

I am right-handed, I wear a watch on my right hand as I use a stick in my left hand to walk.
Strong-Librarian-OOK@reddit
Left, right. I find it easier to do the strap up with my dominant hand
Dreadpirateflappy@reddit
Right is my dominant, always word watch on the right.
Feels odd on the left, always has.
LittleSadRufus@reddit
Yes right & right here as well.
I know it's the convention but I never understood why I'd wear a watch on the left hand, when my instinct is to do everything with the right.

Not sure either hand is that dominant tbh. On the very rare occasions I pick up a pen, it's in my right hand. But, most other stuff i do left handed but will switch if necessary. My watch is on my left wrist.

Congratulations you've discovered the correct way to wear watches. On non dominant hands... for exactly the reasons you've specified.

Stop using the verb Dominate when you mean the adjective Dominant.

Right handed, left for my watch. I used to wear it on my right, but I kept banging it against door grants and the like. I don't seem to knock into things this way.

Feels really weird having a watch on my right wrist.
J_Thompson82@reddit
Right handed.
Watch goes on the left wrist.
I was taught at school that you wear the watch in the opposite wrist to your dominant hand so that you can easily check the time while writing just by glancing.
Also, a lot of watches are left wrist / right wrist specific when it comes to the crown. They’re designed so that the crown can be adjusted with the opposite hand. Although a lot of digital watches don’t really have this issue.

RetiredFromIT@reddit
Right handed, so natural for me to wear a watch on my left.
However, I sometimes suffer from a mild pressure rash, from a watch and watchband. I recognise the feeling, so regularly swap wrists before it gets bad - once or twice a day.
I use elasticated bands, so swapping is easy.
Ganache_53@reddit

Left right - too fiddly to do up the strap with right hand but the bezel on my Longines is obviously for right handed people on the right hand side of the watch Garmin has buttons on both sides so it’s ok.
Key-Original-225@reddit
Left handed, right side for the watch.
girlsunderpressure@reddit
When I wear a watch (rarely), I wear it on my dominant side. I frequently get comments (usually from my mother, who doesn't realise she's like a sick hybrid of Hyacinth Bucket and a British Livia Soprano) about how it's "wrong" but it's what I prefer and it literally affects nobody but me.
I can't even fathom the mindset of anyone who would raise such a complaint. It's my watch and my arm!
Namiweso@reddit
Left and left. Didn’t really wear a watch till I was in my late teens but before that it was bracelets and they always ended up on my left wrist. Force of habit.
fionsichord@reddit
*dominant, and yea that makes perfect sense. I wear mine on either wrist but find it can be really annoying sometimes when it is on my dominant side.
JBEqualizer@reddit
Right and left. I can't do my watch strap up with my left hand, so I couldn't wear a watch on my right wrist. It also feels wrong somehow.
I hadn't actually worn a watch for over a decade, but when I bought a new watch a couple of years ago, I immediately put it on my left wrist without even thinking about it.

I'm ambidextrous but I tend to write with my right hand and wear my watch on my left hand.
Master-Leopard-7830@reddit
Right. None.
Stopped wearing a watch years ago. When I used to wear a watch, it was on my right. Then someone told me I was supposed to wear it on my left, so I swapped. Noticed no difference in wear or getting caught up.
On a side note, I started using a mouse with my left hand after getting rsi in my right. Took about a week to get the hang of it and a month or so to dial in the finer movement. For a righty, using the mouse left handed is a big improvement, I can use a pad and write with my right hand. Try it and see !

Euphoric_Rough_5245@reddit
This is a tricky one. I wear my watch on my left wrist , write with my right hand but do most things as left handed but my grandmother wouldn’t let me be that way when I was a kid. Smacked my left hand away whenever I reached for things but this very early 80’s so more acceptable now.
Redgrapefruitrage@reddit
I’m right handed but I wear my watch on my left.
I also can’t bear any jewellery on my right hand for this reason. No rings, nothing. My left is all bling.
HMS_Hexapuma@reddit
Right left. Much like you I wore it on the right for years but then transitioned to my left in my late twenties.
JudgeStandard9903@reddit
Right and right but I've got quite strong ambidextrous tendencies. I'm a pianist and violinist and so I have good manual dexterity in both hands, I prefer to write with my right but can also write with my left, I'm also left handed in lots of sports and when using a knife and fork.
imalwayshungr@reddit
I'm mostly cross dominant, but I write with my left. The sound of a watch hitting my desk, etc. when writing drives me insane! So, I wear it on my right wrist. :)
Anonimoose15@reddit
Right handed, watch on left wrist. I can’t actually remember ever deciding that’s where it belongs, but thinking about it I suspect it’s partly because my right hand has better fine motor control to actually put it on as I had a buckle style strap initially, I’ve got a magnetic one now, that I imagine my left hand could figure out but I haven’t tried it and I’m quite happy wearing it on my left wrist
lookhereisay@reddit

Mainly because it feels weird using a mouse at work with a watch on that wrist.

mynameismarty007@reddit
Dominant is a bit of a mess. I write and play darts and wash with my left but do most other things with my right. I wear watch on my left wrist because (and this might be TMI) I wipe with my right and I dont like the idea of my watch strap being so close! LOL

Right handed. If I ever wear a watch it’s on my left wrist because I have to fasten it on and I use my right hand to do it.
DoubleXFemale@reddit
Left handed, watch on right wrist. Any wrist accessories that need to be done, like a watch strap or bracelet with a clasp, needs to go on my right wrist so that my left hand can do or undo it.

My right hand is dominant, but I always wear bracelets or watches on my left wrist. Those items annoy the shit out of me and don't feel right when worn on my dominant wrist.
D0wnb0at@reddit
I’m right handed so my watch goes on the left. The winder on watches are usually on the right which means you can wind it with your dominant hand. I know it’s all battery’s and stuff these days but that’s why I wear it on my left. And why the winders are in the right, So you can operate it without taking it off your wrist.

I’m right handed but I only ever wear my watch on my right hand because it seemed natural because it’s a running watch.
