What’s the most random fact you know?

I draw a lot of war comics, and I usually deep dive into research and my favourite stuff is the stuff I can't use at all but is, never the less fascinating. Here's two such facts: During WWII the germans invented a coating to cover their tanks that would stop the allied armies from sticking magnetic anti tank bombs to them. This was expensive to produce and expensive to apply and took an age. This all resulted in a slow down of the tanks being produced, allowing the russians to vastly out produce the germans (the russians could'n't give a fig about the production quality of their tanks, they just made as many as humanly possible). Eventually, worried that it was in fact causing fires, they stopped coating their tanks in it as the war neared its end. But, coincidentally, the only army who had magnetic anti tank weapons were in fact... the germans. Other insane fact - paratroopers (certainly the british) would put a lot of their kit in a bag that was tied to their ankle and when they jumped out of a plane it would hit the ground first and then they'd land. This bag was known as the leg bag or the lander bag. You wanna know why it was called the Lander bag...? IT WAS NAMED FOR Major John Lander, of the British 21st Independent Parachute Company who invented the bag 1942.  That's some delightful nominative determinism.
