You're massively over thinking this. You both have places to be at a set time. If he was that annoyed the crossing light, he would leave slightly earlier or later? Him driving through the red light is concerning though.

I've got to get the thin duvet out of the loft now. Which means I have to change my bedding. And my wife operates at roughly 8 million 'c, but still has cold feet. So, next week is going to be rather miserable. Maybe I should have bought that Aircon unit when it was on offer...

As a tool to track down a criminal or someone who has absconded from jail? Brilliant "oh, but I don't trust the government" This isn't the United States, our MP'S arent the enemy.

What do you achieve in a day?

Posted by Technical_Parking898@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 43 comments

Howthehelldoido@reddit

I'd argue that feeling you need to "achieve" something is a rather depressing way of looking at things. Although, it depends how you frame it I guess? What did I achieve today? I woke up, made my bed, cooked breakfast for my family, went to watch the Boy play Rugby, then came home, put a wash load on, cooked tea for everyone, then put the washing in the dryer.. And loaded the dish washer. Is that achieving?

Is being forced to stand up when your boss enters, and greeting only him in the morning normal workplace behaviour?

Posted by sumiblu@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 1043 comments

Howthehelldoido@reddit

In the Military we will come to attention, or bring the room to attention if a senior officer enters. It's slightly odd that a civvie would want this. However Going out of your way to find them, to say hello every morning? This is just a bizarre waste of time? Does the boss ask questions of everyone coming to see them? Is it a way of them checking his staff are okay? However every day is a bit intense. I get my staff to check on the trainees and report to me on a monday morning..but again.. Military?

Could the UK outdrink the US in a head-to-head?

Posted by Far-Display99@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 627 comments

Howthehelldoido@reddit

Yes. I was in Panama once with the Navy, and the US navy were there. We were drinking pitchers of beer each, when they were sharing a pitcher between 5. If I drink 3 beers after work in the UK, I'm having a quiet one, in the US, they'll try and arrange an intervention.
