Something else which goes under the radar is Scotland's involvement in the American Civil War. They built barges and gun boats for the South. I don't think it's surprising that The Merchant City would have preferred a victory for the South. There's a very small section of the Glasgow Transport museum exhibiting this.

It was generally a term for dudes who maybe train a bit, but also like a few beers and pizza every so often. Think toned arms but a bit of a gut. Now you have blokes with tits who get out of breath looking at a treadmill using it like a badge of honour. For the avoidance of doubt, I have been in terrible shape in my life and in no way looking down on blokes with tits.

Which retail store has the most miserable/rude staff?

Sounds like to me hiring more staff or having specific till staff (like the old days) would mitigate both issues. Trust me, every job would be better without clients/customers but we wouldn't have jobs.
