Was an ex of mine from years ago. He was offered rescue geese and they lived in the back garden. They kept sticking their heads through the cat flap. Funnily enough, they were all called Errol.

Dont be in a rush to get everything sorted all at once ie furnish and decorate everywhere immediately Scour second hand shops for furniture. Sometimes you need to live somewhere a while to discover how it works for you IYSWIM. This might seem daft but if you are living on your own dont get a huge bin for the kitchen - it will start to smell before you fill it up. Also get a plastic bin rather than metal, they are easier to clean.

My mate was a prison nurse and some of the stuff she told me was crazy. One memorable incident was when a prisoner stitched his lips together. She said a lot of them shouldn't have been in there and had untreated mental illness.

As far as I am aware, alcohol is the only drug that can kill a physically addicted person if they suddenly stop using it. I'm a nurse working for the NHS and the amount of alcoholics there are is horrendous. It is by far the most destructive and dangerous drug.

Make a list and stick to it. Always check your cupboards when making said list so you are not doubling up. If you need herbs/ spices your local Asian supermarket is a good place to go, infinite choice at lower prices. When using mince add lentils to make it go further. Meal planning also helps.

TV s used to be more unreliable as well as being expensive to own. One good thing about renting was that repairs were included in the rental package. I used to know people who had coin operated TV, a bit like a gas/electric meter
